The full version of the show's ending theme "Let You Down" was used in a promotional animated music video released a day before the anime's Netflix debut and acts as a prequel to the show. It centered around netrunner Sasha Yakovleva on her last mission as part of Maine's crew before she was replaced by netrunner Kiwi.
The creators of the game added several references of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime in the game Cyberpunk 2077 as an update. Including memorabilia, guns and lore.
This show takes place in the time frame before the game.
In common with the game Cyberpunk 2077 (which references songs in quest names), each episode of Edgerunners takes its name from a song or album title:

- Episode 02: Like A Boy - Ciara (2007)
- Episode 03: Smooth Criminal - Michael Jackson (1988)
- Episode 04: Lucky You - Eminem (2018)
- Episode 05: All Eyez On Me - 2Pac (1996)
- Episode 06: Girl on Fire - Alicia Keys (2012)
- Episode 07: Stronger - Kanye West (2007)
- Episode 08: Stay - Rihanna (2013)

Critically acclaimed Polish singer, songwriter and 2012 X-Factor (Polish version) winner Dawid Podsiadlo was asked by Cyberpunk: Edgerunners' show creator Rafal Jaki to write and sing a song that would be used as the anime's ending theme. As a massive gamer and a close friend of Jaki, Podsiadlo happily agreed.
