Loved it, but....
nidaolivier-6436221 July 2020
I really enjoyed watching it! I love how you feel included in the whole process. I would just have liked to see the 'After' looks without makeup.

Pretty fun watch
majid-arianejad26 July 2020
I enjoyed watching the series and getting to learn about the recent technology and what could be achieved. I respect the doctors' approach to make subtle changes and set the right expectations.

Meh
maegan_marie20 July 2020
I love that they go for a natural look but sometimes they are too pushy for that and almost uninformed about different techniques. Fat transfers to the breast only take in small amounts so the afters for that were underwhelming. The dr constantly talks about wanting a natural slope, she could utilize a shaped implant or a less cohesive implant. They also almost mock a fake looking implant which is rude and insensitive.

Using fast forward it's interesting
eryui30 July 2020
The only interesting parts are the technological treatments, operations and the before/after results (probably also improved by the hairdressers, lights and makeup). By using the fast forward button you could find those parts interesting. The two doctors are not unpleasant, nice enough, but formal dialogues can be bypassed. Overall a bit too glamourized.

Horrible show, way overproduced
stitch-4337516 July 2020
Every episode is about two patients. They start off raw, no makeup, just plain and simple telling their stories. At the end the patients have 10lbs of makeup to cover their surgeries, way overdressed and way overproduced, sometimes the pacing is boring, doctors spend way too much time talking about their own past, it's just a bad imitation of Botched.

I loved this show!
rebeccanorma29 July 2020
I hate reading so many negative reviews. I throughly enjoyed this show and learned so much. Maybe because I'm a young older person who cares about my appearance and want to age as naturally as possible. So what they through in the total make-overs at the end!!

Overproduced and underwhelming
jeremyddunbar15 July 2020
The reveals are more of a fashion show than before and after medical procedures. It's difficult to see the physical end results with all the makeup, artsy cinematography, and lighting; it's more focused on the emotional story.

Could have been good..

Could have been a good show, but the before after part with really heavy makeup ruins the whole thing.

I actually like it...
hezzachan20 March 2022
I love that the nurse and plastic surgeon opt for less invasive treatments most of the time, and that they want their work to appear more natural. I got really tired of shows like Botched wherein people want unnatural looks.

I recon this is just a long ad.
agbasoemily19 July 2020
Despite emotional and heartbreaking stories, the docs still manage to make it about themselves. For example, when a person with trauma started crying after seeing the results, doctors answer was 'you are going to make ME cry'. Many irrelevant facts about the doctors past that don't match the vibe of the actual emotional transformation. In addition, the end results .. overproduced, tons of make up and editing, as if they are hiding something..

Great way to demystify cosmetic surgery and fillers
dominiquegibeault15 July 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I liked the show because I'm working in this industry and there are a lot of misconceptions. People often think that it is only shallow people that have cosmetic surgery. It is a great way to help women and men create the best version of themselves. The episodes are quick and interesting and we can really understand each treatment.

Botched without any laughs and 3 times as long
editing_budgie27 July 2020
Slow, repetitive and mind-blowingly earnest, this show hits you with so much meaningless chatter it hurts.

But hey, if you like hearing the words 'journey', 'challenges' and 'best life' until they lose all meaning, this show is for you.

Something's off
katanalilli16 July 2020
Patients with heart-breaking stories. However, the surgeons tone doesn't match that at all and the production is so overproduced it's almost cringeworthy, because while the patients open their hearts their after reveals seem like ads. The hosts lacks humanity. Pacing is boring. However it's great the patients got help - I'm just not sure why it needs to be documented in this unworthy way.

If that guy wasn't grabbed up by a woman already, I'd be begging for Netflix to send him my info. He was handsome before the treatment and he's HOT!!!! After the treatments!! Great job Nurse Jamie!!!

Fake - MD approved
chrisrobertson82223 July 2020
First of all, I'm a physician in this industry and their before and after photos are totally fake. Lighting, makeup all scream fake. Second, the first episode of the woman who was shot and children murdered, just 3 years later she is jumping around all happy with her new boyfriend trying to get pregnant again...really? I couldn't stomach any more of it. Do yourself a favour and avoid.

I love this show!
frankj35518 July 2020
Well, first I'm always a sucker for plastic surgery shows. I love watching the transformations. These stories behind the scalpel are very emotional for the patients and the Dr. Nazarian and Nurse Jacki are a extremely beautiful and talent duo. Love how they tackle each case.

Overproduced, repetitive with two obnoxious physicians
bernardomiranda9821 July 2020
The patients deserved better than this. The doctor and nurse could learn to be a little more humble and not thinking they're the best from the medical field. The level of delusion and disrespect is unbelievable. You should definitely skip this, it's worse than a TLC show.

Not even watchable in isolation
rebeccaxjan23 July 2020
The show is show is overdramatised and clearly scripted. The medical professionals lacked any genuine empathy and there was something uncanny valley about them. What I found most disturbing is that the two leads pride themselves on natural beauty, but neither of them could move their faces - showing delusions of grandeur. a genuine empathy. I do not recommend to watch - I couldn't even get through one episode.

Waste of Time
mfino-1438624 July 2020
I just watched the first episode but I'm so livid I won't be watching anymore. I wasted 45 minutes of my life only to have them wearing makeup in the after pictures. How does that make sense? They did all this fancy lasering and treatments only to put makeup on her for the after picture. It makes me feel like the treatments didn't work so they had to cover it up. It's like watching an entire movie only to have the ending ruined.

Terrible terrible terrible
writesnscribbles26 July 2020
Warning: Spoilers
(Spoiler ahead) I posted a whole thread regarding this show on reddit. I love the concept of the show but it's terribly executed. I have nightmares about Nurse Jamie saying "oooh I can't wait to get my hands on her" about Marla. The poor lady already suffered so much, you couldn't have just let her had a one-and-done surgery would she could move on?? Just to show off your "craft" you fought for her and filled her to the brim, only so she can be poked and prodded with just as many needles 6 months later and it never stops?! Who knows if she can even afford it? Speaking of price, why isn't the cost of these treatments mentioned??

Doctored afters! Just got an extremely "valley" vibe from these medical professionals.

The surgeons were kind of insensitive. This is a boredom watch.
GarnetVersus715 July 2020
Okay, go ahead make a show about plastic surgery. But don't talk about their bodies like it's garbage. They kept referring to their flaws as such, "They had a horrible scar on their torso" or seeming insensitive about their stories. I didn't like that at all. It is an okay show and I'll probably keep watching, but be forewarned of the trash talking by the doctor and nurse at times. (Not a spoiler, more like a warning or heads-up)

Could've been good
nikimcarter-199431 December 2023
Botched had too many plastic surgery addicts getting redemptions vs people that needed a life changing surgery they couldn't afford. So this show had potential & seemed like it was going to do just that & help people in need with real problems.

The whole thing is so obnoxiously fake. Everything. It's over scripted, over produced, the doctors suck at acting compassionate, the dramatic inspiring music leading up to a bs reveal where the patient is wearing a ton of makeup vs their before shots where they purposefully make them look tired & dull.

Maybe they really did change these lives, but it's so over done, I wouldn't put it past producers to write more to the patient's stories for dramatic affect.

What a bummer because I really like the idea.
