Outstanding Direction..
patela_2427 July 2008
As always,he proved it again,Mr.Karunakaran, starting from his first movie ,"tholi prema",he is continuing his hit franchise with his recent release "Ullasanga Utsahanga".

the film starts with a 94'flashback of Heroin(aishwarya duplicate-sneha ullal) and moves on with the period frequently..the main attraction of the film is its screenplay and the fun part which has really worked out even at the masses.

when it comes to the cons.hero is very much disappointing(Yashod sharma).as a newcomer,he really tried it out a lot in the aspect of acting (irritates with the same expression in every scene),,laughs out very loud and i think his voice is even dubbed.

So,my rating is 8/10.it is a family picture with lots and lots of fun stuff encumbered.go,give it a try..

A classic love story
bvsaratyadav1 October 2017
Karunakaran is a master at making beautiful movies out of simple love stories. Though almost all of his movies are youthful and love stories, there is no denying the fact that he is one of the most brilliant screenplay writers the Telugu cinema has ever witnessed. He weaves comedy into the narrative effortlessly that it evokes nostalgia every time you watch the movie.

With Ullasamga Uthsahamga he uses newcomers to tell the story which worked to his advantage. The hero is just an average guy and not a Prince charming and Yasho Sagar fits the bill in a role that does not require him to be heroic or smart. The trademark Karunakaran montage songs and innocent humour are treat to watch.

In the end,the confusion and indecision of Dhanalakshmi over whom she really likes and how she refuses to express her feelings for the fear of being mistaken is shown beautifully setting up a great climax with a fun surprise.

The music by G V Prakash is soulful and the background music accentuates the mood in key situations. Ullasamga Uthsahamga is a classic and one of the best films from an underrated director.
