During the autopsy Ducky discovers Lance Corporal Brewer's ultimate cause of death was a punctured femoral artery, causing rapid exsanguination. However the crime scene photos showed only droplets of blood and a few small pools on the floor. A punctured femoral artery would cause massive blood loss, the entire floor under his body would be covered by a large pool of blood; additionally there would have been a large amount of blood splatter on the boxes and other objects in front of him, for several seconds after a major artery is punctured blood will shoot out of the hole with each heartbeat.
Liz, the next door neighbour who finds the body only knocks once and doesn't wait for a reply before going around to the back of the house.
When NCIS is tracing Kale to Brewer's apartment, the map displays him stopping in the 1600 block of S. Kent St. However, McGee states that the address is 109 Kent Rd (which would be in the middle of the Pentagon property).
The mapped location of Brewer's apartment is in Aurora Hills, a high-priced area of gentrified single-family homes. But when Gibbs and Fornell arrive, it's at a low-income urban apartment building.
Lance Corporal Brewer served two tours of duty, as such he should have a higher rank. A Marine's first tour of duty as a Private is between 24-36 months, a second tour would be at least six months, giving Brewer a minimum of 2.5 years of service; however he is not married and has no children making his first deployment very likely 36 months for a total of three years of service. He should at least be a Corporal, as most Marines make Lance Corporal after 14 months. Promotion to Corporal is after 12 months as a Lance Corporal and 26 months total service.
