The voice of "Beary Smyles" was provided by Michael Weatherly, who is also the actor playing Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo.
In the lab, Abby is seen "operating" on the bear, asking for surgical tools, which are passed from one of her hands to another. Gibbs comes in and assists, and Abby makes a comment about how he is a good Doctor's nurse and would make a good Doctor too. Gibbs smiles. Mark Harmon has played doctors on both St. Elsewhere (1982) and Chicago Hope (1994).
Michael Weatherly worked with Jensen Ackles in a previous TV series Dark Angel (2000). The secretary with the glasses is Danneel Ackles, Jensen's wife.
Tony mentions a device called a "phreak box". In real life, phreakers were analogous to hackers but hacked the phone system. They learned what tones the phone company used for control and exploited them. Using a 2600Hz tone to seize a trunk line was called "blue boxing". Using a coin tone generator (double the frequency of the star key) was called "red boxing". Each device was presumably named for the color of the box in which it was first found. If there was a "phreak box", it would have been a device that could generate multiple kinds of tones.
