    NFL history in a nutshell

Gorgeous and glowing testament to the humble beginning of one of America's most premiere sports games. I'm not a football fan yet was moved by the passionate portrayal of the little known team that actually won the first NFL game ever! Who would have thunk??? I personally would have liked to see more of the fun reenactments of the 1920s Era team but it worked well how the director intercut the replays with current players and modern playing. How most of the league creators wanted recreational activities for their workers or after church service activities. Makes sense! It was interesting how the team, which obviously was majority white males in the early 20th century that the coach recognized a black coach to help assist the team. While the film didn't dive into societal ills or nuances one hopes the team and staff treated this man with respect. There still wasn't any blacks on the team so it was only a small adjustment. It was a small stepping stone that obviously blossomed and it would have been nice to see more of the story! Kudos to the director to making this bold move. Overall a very positive and well moving piece that football and NFL mega stans should eat up. And historic buffs such as I will enjoy! Dayton, Ohio home of many firsts! Who would have thought???

A Better History of the NFL Game

It was late in the professional years of the Columbus Panhandles as they started as a team in 1901. But how fitting was it for the younger Dayton Triangles to battle the famous Nesser Brothers in the first NFL game on Oct 3, 1920. The Nesser Ironmen, 'the first family of football' lost to Dayton in the second half. But the NFL began that day, those hours. If you do not know that Columbus Ohio was NFL HQ for so many years under Joe Carr. If you do not know the true history of the NFL. And this is your favorite game. You will love this film.

Triangle Park features Cris Collinsworth, Eric Dickerson, Joe Buck, Joe Thuney, John Paxson, Kirk Herbstreit, Sean McVay, Taylor Decker, Larry Fitzgerald, Troy Aikman, Joe Theismann, Suzy Kolber, Ben Roethlisberger, Terry McAulay, Tony Dungy, Cooper Kupp and more real-life family members that give the film historical credibility.

    Enjoyable documentary

I really enjoyed the documentary. I kept wondering why Eric Dickerson was in it so much, never tied to Dayton at all. When Director explained after movie it was because he was his favorite player I was pretty disappointed. Do a feature film on him then. The rest was enjoyable. But there was no need for Dickerson to have that much time, if any. Lost focus on what would have been a great way to honor this game. The interviews with Collinsworth, Aikman, Buck, were very solid. Michelle Tafoya did a great job narrating the story. Thank you for doing this movie highlighting a very important sports event that occurred in our little part of Ohio.
