Stress Relief
espunier3 February 2009
Oh, man.

I saw the first four season of the office in about three weeks, just to catch up with the fifth season.

And this is BY FAR the best episode of the office i have had the pleasure to see.

EVERYTHING for this episode is worth mentioning. The crazy beginning, which got me cracked up with Angela's effort to have her cat saved, the Hannibal Lecter CPR moment, the Lily movie, Andy crying, Pam and her parents, Michael feeding pigeons.

It all adds up to the climax, Michael trying to offend Stanley and Stanley laughing.

It just made me realize that Michael Scott is like a grown up child in a playground. A playground called Dunder Mifflin.

The best intro

If this intro isn't comedy gold, then I don't know what is. I've rewatched the show several times and I always laugh so hard.

HILARIOUS! One of the Best Office episodes EVER!
MicBeam102 February 2009
I thought this episode was absolutely hilarious,I enjoyed the whole episode and I was disappointed when the commercials came on because I was basically anticipating more, I was a little disappointed with the appearances of Jack Black, Jessica Alba, and Cloris Leachman, because I thought they were going to interact with the Dunder Mifflin workers, but even thought that didn't happen what they did do was hilarious and I enjoyed it. If you are a fan of the Office I guarantee you will love this episode as much as I did. Shout out to the Creators, GREAT JOB! I am really looking forward to the next episode, and I hope it is just as funny as this one. Greg Daniels you are my hero keep doing the amazing work that has already been done!

Stress Relief (#5.13)
ComedyFan201013 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Stanley has a heart attack and turns out that Michael is stressing him.

Great episode. The beginning is especially amazing. The fire that Dwight started are several minutes of classic Office. It is absolutely hilarious, I can't even mention which parts of it were because it was all of it. The scene with the dummy was also absolutely perfect. Them all dancing and singing was hilarious! Michael's roasting is both funny and makes one feel very bad about him. Definitely a great episode.

Best Episode EVER!
Tmj5021 May 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This episode of the office literally had me in tears. Some of the most iconic moments of the office comes from this very episode like Kevin breaking the vending machine glass, Dwight cutting the face off of the CPR dummy and the funniest moment of the office, Angela throwing bandit in the ceiling just for him to come crashing back down.

Even as i write this I cant help but chuckle at the hot-mess that is Dunder Mifflin.

The best part of the episode though is the beginning with the "fire" that was set up by Dwight how the office is quickly thrown into panic by the fear of death and Michael's yelling. Everyone running around and Angela's cat make you cry in laughter and the cake topper is Stanley falling to the ground because of a heart attack.

It'll grow on you
alisabuechel14 December 2009
DKOSTY; This show is not really one you can start watching beginning with the 5th season. It has a lot of inter-office politics, jokes that have a foundation on the other seasons, dry sarcastic wit and over-the-top inappropriateness (part of a few actor's characters) and especially jokes that are only understood if you understand the characters. "That guy that started the fire" is supposed to come off as a total idiot. That's his character. It's true this show has a lot of subtle humor and the style is not for everyone, but I hope you give it a chance because it's just the kind of show that will grow on you if you do.

One of the top 10 episodes of The Office
lonnqvistrobert3 August 2016
This episode is probably one of the best episodes ever. The episode contains so much of what makes The Office, the characters really shine out their individual personality in extremely funny ways - and the scenes are filled with creativity. This episode has 4-5 scenes that pretty much sums up what the Office is all about, mostly regarding Michael and Dwight. So funny! The episode starts with 2 absolute legendary scenes, when Dwight first of all creates a fire drill. One of the most hilarious minutes on Office history.

Then! If possible even more hilarious, when all the group has to train for CPR. The scene is so typical for the whole atmosphere in The Office, and the funny perks of many of the characters really shines. It is so funny that the group cannot concentrate on one task, very typical for this group! And that Andy starts singing from nowhere, Michael is just plain stupid, and Dwight has no sense and the scene where he is imitating Hannibal is extreme.

THe following roast is harsh, and also in a way is a summary of what makes Michael so funny.

Recommend this episode!

The Office at it's best.
clydecoopernt31 August 2017
This is genuinely one of the greatest episodes of the entire series with undoubtedly the best cold open in the history of television.

Like many other Office episodes, you need to watch the previous episodes before viewing to get a lot of the jokes which I think is great.

The acting is top-notch and genuine along with a great story.

If you like The Office, then this episode will certainly not disappoint.

What the hell is this? This is amazing!
ignaciogiri28 May 2009
What the hell is this was my first impression after notice that this wasn't Lost! Yes, I was looking for the episode of Season 5 Episode 13 of Lost but I made a mistake and I got this episode of The Office.

I knew the show but I never put attention to it, I think I saw one episode and this one. My god, this episode was AMAZING! This worth watch all the entire seasons.

Thanks for my mistake, I found a very awesome show to start to see now. Laugh, laugh and laugh, can't stop. This is episode make me laugh harder like no other time.

Steve Carell was really funny on The 40 Year Old Virgin, but here, is more and more funny. And I want to honored to Ed Helms... my god, that guy is really funny I love him.

So, here I am trying to get all the seasons now, lucky me I have plenty to see now after the ending of Lost :( Watch The Office if you wanna laugh!

The episode The Office started to change
grant_wagstaff17 July 2021
Twelve years after its initial debut post Superbowl, I am still surprised how much "The Office" fans adore this episode. At the time of the review, it stands at an impressive 9.7/10 marking it one of the highest rated episodes of the entire series. I've re-watched the series and this episode nearly a dozen times and still can not understand the praise. This episode marks the point the series lost its touch. The comedy is far more broad and over the top than anything before it. For example, compare the office's reaction to the opening fire drill with the reaction to an actual fire in season two's "The Fire." The series has flirted with slapstick but never to this level. Characters are far more exaggerated and the use of "stunt casting" Jack Black into weirdly sexualized segments is borderline embarrassing. Yes, there are some classic moments here. Yes, it is a very funny episode. But I will never shake the feeling this stands as the point in the series things started to change- and not entirely for the better.

Kind Of A Slow Show After Great Super Bowl
DKosty1234 February 2009
Warning: Spoilers
This is by far the most negative votes I ever received. I did burn this on a DVD so I can watch it again. I still think this episode is one of those ones with big name guest stars trying to salvage a script that is so-so compared to other episodes of this series. Sorry

I had never seen this show prior to it being on after the Super Bowl. This particular post-Super Bowl edition featured Jack Black & Jessica Alba as guest stars. As it is the first show of the series I have watched, it is all new to me.

From what I saw here, there must be better shows. This one reminded me of and hour-long poor imitation of Scrubs only the jokes seemed to go from terrible to worse with no rhyme or reason. What I saw is some totally crazy sequences and then it seemed like the show had so many commercial breaks that by the time it got back again, you kind of lost track of where you were anyhow.

Jack Black and Alba both were little more than cameos and the guy who worked in the office that initially starts a fire in the beginning of the show must have been a regular because in the real world he would have been fired. In fact, he comes off as a total idiot in this episode. That makes me assume that by watching other shows a viewer is likely to pass this off as his normal behavior?

I am sure NBC got some ratings on this in that time spot but I was not impressed enough by this one to search out other episodes so this might be the only one I ever watch.

I have watched other episodes in this series now, and this is by far the worst one I have seen. Other episodes are much more humorous. I think NBC thought the time slot after the Super Bowl and the guest cast would make up for a lack of script.

Didn't feel like 42 mins of an episode.
samratsingraur4 November 2020
One of the best episode. Dwight's state of thinking is beyond hilarious. I watched Angela and her cat thing more than 100 times 😂 and the Jack Black movie scene where Andy thought that Jim and Pam were actually talking about the movie was so amusing.

The best comedy episode of all time
theteamavengers30 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I saw Stress Relief yesterday. An absolute comedy gold. The first 5 mins are the funniest thing I've ever seen. The fire drill was magnificent. Dwight was at his absolute best in this episode. I completely died when he cut the face of the dummy. Every character was so fking hilarious. Michael being the reason of Stanley's heart attack was amazingly done. I felt bad for Michael when everyone was roasting him. And the ending of the episode was epic. This episode is pure perfection. Top 10 episodes of all time.

SAVE BANDIT!!!

Warning: Spoilers
In my opinion this is the number one episode of The Office.

It's got everything, from the epic cold open with Dwight's safety training to the CPR training scene.

This is comedy for 42 minutes straight and nothing else. If you wanna laugh, this is the one to watch. Great story and great writing.

Rating: 10/10.

Comedy Gold
asifrahman-7690929 May 2022
This is a phenomenal episode. The title alone makes one expect a chaotic, fun episode.

The jokes hit so well, such as Dwight defacing the CPR dummy, Michael walking to the other side of the room in the scene with corporate. Everything about the fire drill scene and the co-workers - except Dwight the originator of it - panicking. Kevin trying to break the vending machine was epic.

The office at its best. If this isn't true comedy, I'm uncertain what is.

Dwight's Fire and Roasting Michael
vivianla3 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Dwight makes a too realistic fire and warmed all the handles so everyone freaks out because they cannot find an exit. Angela has a cat in a drawer. Oscar goes up to the ceiling. It is a horrible show. Stanley gets a heart attack.

Dwight then calls out that it was a simulation. Him and Michael speak to corporate due to his actions.

A CPR lesson from the Red Cross is carried out. Dwight pulls out a knife after saying they have to check if the victim is an organ donor and stabs the dummy. Poor Stanley gets nauseous. Dwight and Michael go to corporate again.

The first half (first episode) is hilarious. The second half (second episode) is about roasting. Michael decides after finding out from Stanley's machine that he stresses people out to do a roast event where his employees roast him. They all go up one by one and roast Michael. Michael sits on a comfortable brown leather chair with a drum in front of him. Pam says she saw Michael naked one time and his thing was small. If it was an iPod it would be a shuffle.

After the event Michael walks out and is absent from work. When he comes back he roasts everyone in his office.
