- the two main characters have sex 4 times, though no nudity is ever shown, they are explicit through acting alone. A woman is bathed by her husband twice. The first time you can slightly see her breast. It is made clear her husband is penetrating her under water and her face is shown as she responds.
Violence & Gore

- man is squashed by a log over a train track and almost gets run over by a trolley.
- A man is shot in the chest, some blood is seen.
- A woman has her throat slit offscreen, she is seen dead later.
- A man slips on loose ground and accidentally gets his hand chopped off by a workers axe.
- A woman says for her husband to kill her. He grabs her neck and chokes her, but stops before she dies. He pushes her down and leaves.
- A man is asked to kill a woman and child, and he approaches the woman with a razor. The woman begs and cries for her child's life. This is very intense. A man gets in front of him and they get into a fist fight, one slits the other's throat with the razor blade.

- This film has a very dark and serious tone. two happy characters slowly slip into depression and fall out of love with one another as they go against their humanity for what they want. When a man asks his wife about a scar on her back she recounts a story of when she was twelve and her house was burning down. She did not save her younger siblings. The story haunts her and is very sad. A man shoots his own friend to please his wife. A woman has a miscarriage, blood is seen everywhere. She learns she will never have children again and she weeps with shock. You can feel the emotion and regret. She insists her husband get rid of the cradle and he smashes it with an axe. A woman finds a picture of her husband's illegitimate son and becomes angry. She scratches at the faces in the photo with a knife until they're unrecognizable. this scene is slightly intense, as she is so angry she is shaking. You can see a madness in her face as the movie progresses. A woman and her child are stalked by a dark character. He follows her onto a train, preparing to kill them both. A very somber movie.
