When Bollywood actresses come together for a film, they often spark rumours of catfights. But looks like the contemporary actresses are in a much secured place and they have been lending a helping hand to their co-actresses. Shruti Haasan, who is a popular actress down South and in Bollywood, has lend her voice for a romantic song in the upcoming film Tevar starring Sonakshi Sinha.
In the recent trend of many actresses turning singers for their films (Shraddha Kapoor, Alia Bhatt), Shruti Haasan, however, is not a part of the cast in the film but has only sung a song. The music directed Sajid-Wajid believe that Shruti has a fresh voice which suited the mood of the song and hence had decided to rope in the actress to sing. On the other hand, we hear that Sonakshi Sinha had no qualms over this decision and was rather happy about Shruti being a part of it.

Anees Bazmee's Welcome Back, the sequel to Welcome, has finally found a heroine. First it was Sonakshi Sinha who was almost on. Then there was insistent talk of Asin bagging the role.
But it's Kamal Haasan's daughter Shruti Haasan who has finally bagged the role opposite John.
Shruti, who had a tame luckless beginning in Hindi films with Soham Shah's dud Luck opposite Imran Khan, seems poised for a second inning in Bollywood after her two back-to-back antithetical much-appreciated roles in Ramaiya Vastavaiya and D-Day.
Says Anees, "Yes, we've signed Shruti finally. She seems to be the right choice for the role opposite John. I wanted someone pretty spontaneous and with good comic timing. Shruti has all of this."
About Sonakshi and Asin, Anees says, "Asin was only under consideration. We never got down to signing her. So I don't know how news of her bagging the role got out.

Mumbai, May 18: Filmmaker Prabhudheva, who has cast Shruti Haasan in "Ramaiya Vastavaiya", says he is no one to "relaunch" the daughter of veteran actress Kamal Haasan.
"It's not a relaunch! Shruti is Kamal Haasan's daughter. Who am I to relaunch her," Prabhudheva told Ians.
Shruti has earlier featured in Bollywood films like "Luck" and "Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji", which didn't manage to elicit the expected response. But Prabhudheva had his reasons to cast the actress in his directorial.
"I was confused whether to take a new girl or an established actress, but Shruti looked perfect for the role. You will realise why I cast.

Mumbai, Jan 5: Versatile actor Kamal Haasan is proud of the fact that his daughter Shruti Haasan has carved a niche for herself in the showbiz industry, without the support of father.
"I am very glad I didn't launch her. I want her to walk back home as a star. As a father right from the beginning I wanted her to make her own way and I should not have a hand in that," Haasan said.
"I want her to be known as a talent and she succeeded on her own and then I will have two stars (Kamal and Shruti) under one banner," he added.
Shruti forayed in Bollywood with Soham Shah's "Luck" and was later seen in "Dil Toh Baccha Hai.

When Ranbir Kapoor, Imran Khan and Neil Nitin Mukesh entered the Bollywood scene around the same time, industry was of opinion that the trio would turn out to be a similar phenomenon as the Khans (Aamir, Salman, Shah Rukh) had turned out to be 20 years ago. While Ranbir raced ahead with unconventional choice of roles, Imran managed to put his act together after the twin debacle of Kidnap and Luck. However, Neil Nitin Mukesh wasn't as lucky as the others around him kept running faster. Now, he has pretty much announced an open challenge, what with his David taking Imran's Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola heads on.
"What makes this clash all the more interesting is that Matru... was announced a year ago and its release date too was fixed six months back. Still, for Neil's David to suddenly decide January 11 as the D-day is nothing less than surprising", comments an insider.

Only yesterday we told you how director Prabhu Dheva was frantically searching for a leading lady to be paired opposite debutant Girish Taurani (son of producer Kumar Taurani). However, now it seems that the director has finalized his heroine and it's none other than Shruti Haasan who would be paired opposite Girish. Despite looking out for a new girl, Prabhu felt that Shruti fits the bill and hence finalized her. This will be Shruti's third Hindi film after Luck and Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji. The film is a hard-hitting love story and like Prabhu Dheva's other films, will be a typical massy entertainer.

So, the workshop happened. And Michael (Will Chase) is out as Joe Dimaggio. (Bye-bye, Michael. No more sneaking kisses with Julia in plain sight.) He wasn’t gelling with the show — “Marylin: The Musical” that it, not Smash — and he had to go. His performance was suffering from the torrid affair. And the writing process itself had become stifled since Julia’s head wasn’t in the game. But she’s more important than Michael so he was shown the door.
(And frankly, the scene where Julia sits in for Ivy as Michael goes over lines was pretty dumb — and pretty on the nose. So, an upside is that we’ll never have to see a moment like that again.)
Anyway, most of the episode not involving the workshop is devoted to Ivy (Megan Hilty) and her Broadway diva mom played by Bernadette Peters (for you non-theatre folks, she was...

New Delhi, Feb 23: Actresses usually shy away from discussing their cosmetic surgeries, but Shruti Haasan has no problems in admitting that she went under the knife for a nose-job before her Bollywood debut. However, she clarifies it was for medical reasons.
She says she went in for a corrective surgery in the Us because she was facing breathing problems. She revealed on Big CBS Love's show "India's Glam Diva" that she went through a septoplasty because of a common disorder involving a deviated septum.
Shruti, who made her Bollywood debut with "Luck" in 2009, and is also a singer, was apprehensive about undergoing the surgery.

Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt
Madhuri Dixit will be starring opposite ex-flame Sanjay Dutt in Satte Pe Satta remake
The classic comedy Satte Pe Satta (1982) is being remade by Soham Shah (of Luck 2009 fame). Sanjay Dutt bagged the role of the male lead. However, speculations about the female lead were abuzz. It was reported that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who was approached for the role kept the team waiting for a long time. Sources now confirm that Madhuri Dixit will be essaying the role. Given Madhuri’s grace and charm, she seems to be the ideal choice for Hema Malini’s role in the original. Madhuri has worked with Dutt in the past in films like Saajan (1991), Khalnayak (1993) etc.
It was once believed that the duo was involved in a steamy affair in the 90s. Keeping that in mind, this remake will be much awaited.

Luck could well be the thing of the past for Shruti Haasan who is returning all rejuvenated with Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji. Though she herself confesses that she doesn't quite boast of a 'huge role' in this Madhur Bhandarkar directed film, Shruti is thanking her stars for the sheer reason of having found this opportunity of bagging a prestigious project like this as her second outing. "You know, I am actually glad that in my own small way, I would now be contributing to a Madhur Bh...

Shruti Hassan would be seeing a re-launch of sorts with Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji, a film that sees her being paired opposite Emraan Hashmi for the first time. Though she did run out of luck in Imran Khan starrer Luck where she hardly had any opportunity to perform, there is a new platform that she is getting in this Madhur Bhandarkar directed affair. No wonder, Emraan is impressed with the manner in which Shruti has well utilized this platform. "I have worked in 20 odd films while...

Sanjay Dutt is in a desperate need or a hit. Except for his multi starrer All The Best which released last year, Sanjay hasn't tasted success for a long time, with Knock Out, Lamhaa, Aladin, Blue, Luck, Emi, Kidnap and Mehbooba failing at the box office. No wonder, when he ended up working with director Anees Bazmee, who promises a super-hit outing for his actors - case in point being Singh Is Kinng, Welcome and No Entry, he was mighty impressed with him. So much so that he ended...

We joust with the first stages of the epic LucasArts combat adventure, and explore the narrative driving Starkiller's return...
In a Star Wars universe fraught with complex mentor/pupil relationships, it's fitting that Force Unleashed is such a tough master to follow. Though critics gave the 2008 Jedi action romp a decidedly mixed reception, it was the fastest selling Star Wars game in history, shifting seven million copies worldwide. So what, LucasArts must have asked itself, do you do for the sequel? Stick with a formula that earned massive commercial success, or listen to the reviewers and veteran Star Wars game players and rebuild? From the looks of Force Unleashed II, you do a bit of both.
Set soon after its predecessor and just a few years before A New Hope, this is a more melancholy take on the story of Starkiller, the Sith apprentice who turned against Darth Vader and...

Ravi Kishan is someone who started of his 'filmi safar' in Bollywood with the Kajol-starrer Udhar Ki Zindagi. Since then, he has done a number of films in Bollywood over the years, but it was the Bhojpuri film industry where Ravi became not just a star, but a superstar! Well, even in mainstream Hindi films, he has done movies that have earned him his place under the Bollywood sun. And now it seems that Ravi is all set to give the Bollywood brand ambassadors a run for their money, as he has been chosen as the brand ambassador for not just one, but four Fmcg giants! The brands which have signed him as the brand ambassador include Dabur Chyawanprash, Airtel, Parle Monaco and Marico Thanda Tel. This man surely seems to have all the 'Luck' in the world. We are sure that Ravi Kishan will surely agree with us!

It can be called a mere co-incidence or even luck that the only two hits of Imran Khan, Jaane Tu...Ya Jaane Na and I Hate Luv Storys have been directed by first time directors. In case of Jt...Yjn it was Abbas Tyrewala's debut directorial venture, despite him being a big name as a lyricist and script writer in Bollywood while I Hate Luv Storys marked the debut of Punit Malhotra, who had earlier assisted Karan Johar in a few projects. Talking about the two failures, Luck and...

Imran Khan might be the next big thing in bollywood, but in real life his friends have a different opinion of him. With his close pals Imran is just an ordinary guy. In fact when they travel together they stay in small hotels and share the beds and fight for the bathroom. Though his latest film I Hate Luv Storys has given Imran some solace after his earlier two films Kidnap and Luck flopped badly at the box office, but the actor thinks that he has to keep on doing the good...
