Yall this show. Oh my god.

Maybe its cause im insane but i will lose my mind if yall dont watch this show.

Im so attached to all these characters and those freaking monkeys oh my god.

Id give it 10 stars if it werent for the entire somadhi fire plot. It was horrible.

I would love the somadhi fire arc if it had two changes: redson got the fire, and wukong tried to kill a child.

It made no sense to give mei the fire, this show tried so hard not to be misogynistic that it forgot its dang protaginist😭😭 i am a woman and a mei lover, im allowed to say that.

Mei already had the super cool dragon stuff goin on she didnt need to have an entire arc that ultimately went nowhere there was no change in her at the end of her arc she just became friends with redson.

It would of made complete sense to give redson the power that HE MADE, and say he still cant exactly controll it but can still withstand it because hes older now. Mei could of been his teacher, shes based off the river horse dragon who LIVED IN A RIVER.

This show loves taking stuff from jttw and changing it, so MAKE MEI A WATER DRAGON AND THEN SHE CAN HELP REDSON LEARN WHILE KEEPING THE FIRE FROM TAKING OVER CAUSE SHES WATER. Or literally anything else i would love their dynamic so much more if she could be a silly teacher to a loser student.

Anyway onto the monkeys these monkeys are so mentally ill.

A major point of season three is trying to expand on wukong being a bad person, but he never really did anything wrong, at least not enough to warrant meis freakout.

The most he ever did was tell minor lies like a few times and leave macaque which is not nearly enough for what the show is pushing. It feels like a battle between the writers, to keep wukong a mentor respectable figure or make him what he truly is, a dumb, impulsive man who should have attempted murder on lbd after she said the mortal would die. Since when did wukong care about mortals??

The most we got for a "conculsion" to this, was wukong going "thanks for sticking with me bud🤓" after literally nothing happening.

They could have done so much if they just committed to the make sun wukong had train.

Next we have the main character the show forgot about. Im hoping they keep his confidence problems in season four, because they were never resolved nor hardly brought up in the big conclusion to the show. They shoved him aside for what couldve been the coolest quote ever in refrence to redsons, "be the fire." Had MEI SAID IT. Mk deserved better as did the whole cast amen hallelujah.

If anyone bothers to read all this i am amazed props to you.

Actual Underated gem

This is one of the best cartoons out there, it deserve way more attention, the animation is amazing and you can see how much the people animating love their characters, the expressions, the coolness, if I saw this as a kid I would be completely obsessed.

All the characters are very charming, althought most episodes are really short, they make it up to you but giving you amazing storytelling and animation, this show should get more attention, I hope it gets dubbed to other languages soon so the fandom can a bit more.

This is peak television honestly, anyone who haven't watched it are missing out on probably the best cartoon of this era.

There haven't been a lot of decent cartoons out there recently, so it is becoming really hard for people to find something that they actually like. However, this one feels different. It has a really nice and consistent animation style and the story feels really fresh enough to make it stand out with the competition.

The show was originally at a low 8/high 7 score but recently went down due to somebody making accounts or a mob of people rating the show down. Monkie Kid now has a 6.9 while the specials have 6-4 ratings when they were originally much higher since their release. Please ignore the review bombing, give this show a chance and give it a good review to help out. It is. Actually ridiculous this keeps happening on this website and nobody is doing anything.

This Was Done The Right Way

Flying Bark Productions animation has once again raised the bar. I have never seen a lego property look so good hand drawn. The Artwork and backgrounds are something to admire and the characters in the show are lovable. It is clear that this studio has improved their craft since their work on the ROTMNT. I hope this cartoon releases in the US and isn't obscure or difficult to find.

AMAZING

The show is well animated with one of the best over arching storylines as well as fun characters with amazing story arcs. Everything from the cinematography to the music composition is OUTSTANDING. The voice actors are also phenomenal. And the animation is nothing less than STELLAR. They spared absolutely no expense in any aspect. I'd give it a 100/10 if I could. If you haven't seen the show I can't recommend it enough! Pls don't listen to the 1 star reviews and look at it for yourself! I'd say the series stands on its own and the show can speak for itself in terms of how good it is. One of the best UNDERRATED ongoing animated series to come out since 2020! Pls give it a shot!

All of the characters are written so well and the comedic timing is perfect! All the references to Journey To The West fit in so perfect and it makes the show stand out! I cant wait to see the next season!

Super Underrated

Gosh I love this show so much- the artistry is very obviously it's main selling point, as it's spectacular, but the story and characters also get really good about halfway through the first season. As someone who's watched all 3 seasons, it only gets better (and more serious) as it goes along. Watching this show is always entertaining, and has become a guilty pleasure for me :D.

Underrated and deserves a chance

This is a great show. The visuals are well done and the plotlines will leave you feeling hooked every time. Every character is fun and treated with care. There's this level of depth within each character that's admirable. The voice acting is amazing and you can tell the voice actors/actresses are having fun with their roles. What's a show without a cast having fun? If you're a fan of any story driven show, you'll enjoy this one as well. My only gripe with the show is there isn't enough time for some characters to interact well with one another. It feels like they only interact if the plot needs them to (I know it may seem like I'm asking for a lot but it's something I really enjoy within stories. That being said, this isn't something that'll break the show. It's just a personal issue I have). Outside of that, the show's on point. Checks of the necessary things a show needs: good plot, fun and interesting characters along with strong art direction. I hope you can give it a chance. It hopefully shouldn't disappoint.

This show changed my life for the better

If you're looking for a show with 10/10 legendary animation, 10/10 character writing, 10/10 comedy and 10/10 sound design then this show is for you. I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say this is the most underrated show I've ever seen, because to such quality to go almost unnoticed by the mainstream public it's very disheartening, but I'm glad to see it's popularity grow more and more each day.

So don't waste your time and go give this show the attention and love it deserves!

Also recommend researching about Journey To The West to understand some of the references, it's not obligatory of course, but for me it made my experience better.

An Absolutely Fantastic Must Watch

This is genuinely one of the best animated show of all time. I'd give it 11 stars if I could!

All I can say is stick with this show. What starts out as silly episodic romps becomes an incredible, elaborate, sweeping, storyline jam packed with adventure and heart. The tone change is handled really well in my opinion, and the characters are written and portrayed with such conviction and caring that you don't even realizing you're falling in love with them until it's too late. And the music! It's masterfully orchestrated and elevates the story beyond imagination. And don't even get me started on the animation; it's absolutely PHENOMENAL, and one of its greatest strengths. Every single season I'm thinking, "there's no way they can top this" and then they do!

Whatever LEGO set out to do when they created this show definitely worked. Congrats guys, I'm buying sets as we speak.

An absolutely beautiful show with so much fun to be had.

Another review for this show said it was cringe. Don't listen to them as this show is a great and unique adaptation of the journey to the west novel and it has really funny and enjoyable characters to watch. On top of that, the animation is stunning and some of the fight scenes are outright beautiful to watch its like a work of art ypu can really tell the amount of effort the animators put into it. In conclusion this show is a must watch for kids and adults alike and anyone who tells you otherwise is just acting idiotic because they probably believe animation to be "only for kids" which is completely wrong animation is a medium meant for anyone amd everyone of any age.

Surprisingly very very good with positive energy

I thought this was gonna be a childish show for little kids but unlike expected it's very entertaining and I like the animation style with the unique colors so I think it's definitely worth your time . It Also start developing a consistent story starting from the middle of season 2 . Ignore the ratings . Monkie kid is that kind of shows that you sleep in your bed late at night while watching without getting bored. Also the intro theme is so cool I repeat it 5 times before watching an episode. I'd say shows that are somewhat similar close to monkie kid are shows like gravity falls in terms of the vibe .

My Favorite show ever

When I first got into this I wasn't expecting a whole lot. I knew it'd be pretty good but my other favorite show had just finished up so I thought nothing could top it.

This show topped it by a landslide. The animation is gorgeous, the characters are endearing, the voice acting and the MUSIC SCORE both invoke so much emotion and either one or both is guaranteed to cause goosebumps for me.

Is this show objectively near perfect? No. There are some writing choices that don't make sense but man this is just such eye and ear candy that always makes me feel whatever emotion it's trying to make me feel.

It's a show that's definitely flawed when you're thinking about it from a critical standpoint, but when you're caught up in the moment watching it, or replaying your favorite episodes in your head, or just thinking about all those phenomenal scenes, it feels near perfect.

MK may seem like a basic protagonist at first but not even going to lie, him, Wukong, Macaque, Azure, and Lady bone demon are some of the best written characters I've ever seen.

I'd recommend checking out BendoBricks YouTube video where he talks about Mk as a protagonist, it's really insightful.

With all that said, please give this show a try.

My favorite show ever

If you find yourself put off by the show's style from first glance, put those judgements away because OH MY GOSH IS THIS SHOW AMAZING!!! This show has the best action sequences out of any Lego show that even modern Ninjago can't compare. All the characters are likeable in their own right, and the writing is eight chef's kisses and a half. The tie-in with actual Chinese mythology works so well, as there's a whole book of lore to fall back on to bring in ideas for the show, and the show neither underexplains (to the point where the audience is confused on what is happening) or overexplains (to the point where the audience is belittled) its lore. Overall, I can highly recommend this show to anyone who has a true appreciation of 2D animation, especially to anime fans.

Shockingly Underrated

Probably one of the best shows I've ever watched. The animation is fluid, the designs are amazing, the art style is amazing, the designs are amazing, and I could go on about the characters for hours. So many beautiful fight scenes and well-animated action. Flying Bark never disappoints!

The episodes are short but the pacing makes up for it. It doesn't feel like they're cramming as much as they can into episodes or anything, it just feels... Natural. They do what they can with the time they have and it works.

The special 40 minute episodes are wonderful too, and are required for you to watch in order to understand the plot, so keep that in mind if you're looking to watch it.

Also keep in mind that the style grows into itself over time. Excuse poor jokes and hilariously bad frames from the first season, I promise it gets better and it'll be worth it.

Season 1 serves as a wonderful introductory to the characters and the world they live in, as well as their bonds with one another. It establishes what needs to be established and gets you comfortable with the premise. Not extraordinary by any means, but it gets the job done and is a generally fun watch.

I'd love to review the rest of the seasons in detail, but I implore you to simply watch and see for yourself It isn't perfect but it's more than good enough to get 10 stars from me. The story is just, *chefs kiss*. Trust me when I say you should watch this show. You won't regret it.

The most amazing show that I've ever watched!

I like a lot of things, but Lego Monkie Kid takes the cake! From the story to the voice acting, it feels like Lego knows what they are doing with this show! I love all the characters including the villains. It's fanbase is so nice, the fanart is lovely and the fanfics I've read are so good! And those happened because of this amazing, amazing show! I would love to see more seasons of this underrated gem! I want to see more of these characters, I want to see more of this story, I want to see more of this silly goofy little underrated world! Please, give us more of this show! I'LL BUY THE LEGOS IF I HAVE TO!

HI IM HERE BECAUSE THIS SHOW IS CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED AND I WANTED TO SUPPORT IT IN SOME WAY SO!! This show is incredible, art-wise and writing-wise. Flying bark really blew this one out of the park! The art is so good i often forget that it is lego at all - it's so spiky and dynamic! This show might be the most visually appealing lego show i've seen ever. AND the story writers are so clearly incredibly talented at writing characters and character dynamics and rgghrghgraaa this show is spectacular and stellar and breathtaking and the characters are so likeable! You should watch the heck out of it.

Very based show, would recommend. The Mets also score in this show too, again, adding onto the point it being based. The best character has to be Spider Queen, the way she states that she's the queen or whatever several times just gets me going. Red son? Meh... He's ok. I feel like he has no motives to do anything he's doing, pretty mid character, but aside from that, good show.

This show is very well animated and portrayed in an excellent way!

I very much enjoyed the show, animation and over all the performance of the voice actors! They all did an excellent job executing how the characters act.

I really enjoy how Mei is MK's best friend and isn't seen as anything more than that, I really appreciate that a lot seeing as a lot of media's portray the main characters best friend as a possible love interest.

It's very interesting to see how everyone acts around MK normally as if every episode that we see is just another way of us seeing how crazy MK's life has gotten since he's gotten the staff!

I especially enjoy how Yin and Jin are now just demons who mess with MK every now and then.

Over all despite the show being directed towards children it was a bit nostalgic to watch. I look forward to seeing more episodes to this show!

Where Do I Start?

I discovered this show in a hard time in my life and GOD DID IT DELIVER. The animation is beautiful, the story is beautiful, I love every single character. There is so much care and love put into every second of this series and it deserves all the praise it can get. Just when I think it can't get better, the crew finds a way to make it engaging every single time. Please if you have the time check out this beautifully crafting and engaging series, it's not too long and it is well worth your while. I laughed, cried, and enjoyed every single episode. How a series can pull something as amazing as this off astounds me and I could never be more pleasantly surprised by what I thought was just a silly little lego show.

Best Show; Lego Monkie Kid FTW!!!

A great show with amazing animation, fantastic music, and a sublime storyline filled with loveable characters! Don't let the fact they're all Lego throw you off, it's one of the best shows out there (in my opinion)! Can get a bit dark at times so it should definitely be watched with parental guidance if kids are watching. But even adults will love it, I do! You should also listen to actual Chinese people if you go onto the online space, don't just make your own assumptions about the characters and/or the world building! Doing some research if your own will do you some good too! If you're neurodivergent (especially adhd or autistic) be warned: You very well might become obsessed.

It Made Me Cry

This show unironically captivates so many emotions beautifully while still being easy for children to follow. However it was written good enough to capture any audience. The humor is relateable in some sad ways but also just makes you laugh. The sad parts make you feel angsty and broody and wondering what will happen next. The suspension is crazy and the mysteries behind the lore are insane. For a children's show, this whole entire production is amazing. The animation, the story, the voice acting and cast, its so splendid and well done. PLEASE watch, you won't regret. The specials are like little movies, and are absolutely gorgeous to watch, and the seasons themself are movie quality, perfectly pacing out and building up a conflict that is brewing. Its amazing, super good, absolutely adored it.

A LEGO Catchy and Modern revamp of a Chinese Legend.

The incredible Comic/Entertainment writer Jeremy Adams and The LEGO Team open a new gate to a old Chinese legend,given a modern successor to a old legend,with The ages of the Technology and modern civilization rise from the old civilization,We see our heroes MK found himself in a danger,and even found himself as the successor to the Monkey King himself,and Don't Forget the succesor the his fellow allies too,i like this show,it's so catchy,so inspired people,and even so cool and so awesome to a Legendary tales,i recommend this amazing show to you lovers,it's a perfect combination of LEGO,Modern-day,And Chinese legends.
