The Road to Sundance is a very strong feature film for a first-time writer, a first-time co- director, first-time actors, and a shoe string budget. The performances are solid and the scenes are engaging. I had fun watching the film from beginning to end and cared about the lives portrayed, a testament to good writing.
It's a forward thinking piece with a diverse cast and a progressive storyline about a young woman, who suddenly finds herself in charge of her husband's cast and crew when he passes away unexpectedly. Despite being a bit long, the movie was fun and enjoyable with warm and heartfelt characters, that I missed when the film was over. Not bad for a movie about making a movie.
