The show has 2 endings
AscendeSuperius22 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Frankly speaking, it was a little odd, in the good way, how the show ended twice. Firstly, after they have gone through their whole ordeal together, finally being able to be with each other. And a sort of mini 'season 2', dealing with the aftereffects, spanning 2 years after where the 'first part' stopped. Though some might say that you could make do not watching with the last 6 episodes, which I can see why they think this way, it was most definitely worth it. It really was basically a mini season of sorts, tying up loose ends from the front part and as a see how their doing 2 years later sort of thing.

In a way, it can be said that the characters were made very well rounded. Some, such as Du Lei, to see him in all his pain and glory, from his character that can at one moment make your blood boil, and at another moment make you pity him, as you bask in his despair for his unrequited love. It really gives you that pang in your heart feeling. This, is just one of many characters that you see develop over the course of the show, making you feel a whole myriad of emotions. Definitely a good watch, especially if you're into the whole romance genre.

In general the storyline is good but towards the last few episode, the storyline start to get a bit plain. The chemistry between Leo and Bai Lu is just awesome. Riley and Xiao Yan also acted quite well too!

Plot not so good but I like their acting skills
cloaocean5 August 2023
Watched a lot of Taiwanese dramas since young age so this one is not new to me. I came here after ChangYueJinMing to see their afterlives. It was sweet anyway and sometimes I felt like what the main actress BL said in her interview, that this life owed her a YuanSuai (male lead). I love how he loved her and helped her to grow stronger (but if I was the female lead I would also hate and run away from him haha). I dont like how the female character was built. She was depicted as a smart girl who was good enough to pass the last interview round into a famous bank but all she did in the drama was careless and stupid. I was so impressive with BaiLu's Li Su Su so I didn't like this character. Anyway, if you are into sweet love with not too many dramas or arguments, this one is for you.

Never a dull moment!

First of all, "THANK YOU" for not dubbing over the actors voices! That made me very happy as a viewer.

I loved this series! You had Drama, Romance and Comedy all in one. I laughed, I cried, and had several, "Wait, what?!" moments when an episode took a surprising twist just when I wasn't expecting it. No need to jump from episode to episode. All of the episodes had something in them that kept you glued to the screen. If it wasn't something funny, then it was something suspenseful, and just when you thought you had a character all figured out, you got a surprise of finding out otherwise.

I've always liked Luo Yunxi in Wuxia series, but was amazed at how easily he transformed into this incredibly smart and suave character. He's simply a fantastic actor over all!

The on-screen chemistry between Luo Yunxi and Lai Lu and their characters was wonderful! The casting team did a great job! The whole cast was perfect for their characters.

So, if you want to enjoy a fun, romantic series that includes dramatic twists and turns, this is it! :-)

Best chinese rom-com in 2020
mbagdi-215695 November 2020
Story 9.0/10 Lovely and funny story with small flaws. I giggled a lot because of the unexpected twists. Sometimes the advertisement kill the mood, but all of them is forgivable. The main story line is great, the other sidekick stories are less entertaining. There are some interesting 'out of the box' thoughts: girls with girls in the bar, older woman - younger guy pair. I have never seen these before in Chinese series, it is fresh, new and brave. Thanks to the censors to not kill it. 🙂 Acting/ Cast 10/10 The two main lead is brilliant, they take this series into the high sky. Luo Yunxi is a brilliant actor - I always says 😃 - in this series he showed a kinda new face. Bai Lu was not know to me before, but she is awesome, very talented and this two together is a nuke. Everybody praising them, and they totally deserve it. Gao Hanyu, the second lead get less possibility to show his talent here. He was great in the Flipped and in the FuYao, and when have to be a lover, a friend, a heartbroken guy or a badass badboi he can showed himself. The other cast is really good, Guan Zi Jing is perfect sidekick in every situation, Tao Si Yuan is scary and psycho. 🙂 The big surprise is Ran Xu, he have got talent and charisma from the beginning, I hope he can have more opportunity in the future. AND the doggo. Tangyuan take everything, If se is in the set she rule the screen. Princess ❤ Music 7.0/10 Lovely music, good to listen. The big surprise is Gao Hanyu - Miracle. I did not know that he have got an awesome voice like this, to me this is the best one from the soundtrack. I liked Riley Wang - "Sometimes", and Blue Bird - Della songs too. Rewatch Value 10/10 Anytime, when you need a lovely story. Rom-com of 2020. Overall 9.0/10 There are minor flaws, illogical story lines, too direct ads and sometimes the second leads are really boring. But worth to watch, or I should say: must watch, minimum once.

Simply the best C-Drama romcom ever.
mollysanfran4 June 2021
Unmissable... both Luo YUnxi and Bai lu hit this outta the park... and this from a viewer who has so far held the simplistic world of Cdrama as strictly avoidable. But have to give high praise to Love is sweet-- the dialogues, the situations and the characters are believable and very modern in approach, This is the first C-drama which does a great great job of providing universal content--characters and story which can be played out in New York, Madrid, New Delhi, Singapore or Seoul.

Love is sweet addresses the reason why C-dramas dont get the appeal of K-dramas -- because they don't speak a universal language. The characters played by the male lead and female lead bring that fresh air of being world citizens.

The story falters a tad in the second half-- could have done with some crisp editing, yet it stands miles above its contemporaries. The acting by Luo Yunxi is par excellence; he is simply the best actor I have watched so far in the Chinese entertainment industry. Bai Lu is a joy to watch. The stylization is apt though a bit repetitive for the world of investment banking, but it catches the spirit all right. The love story is unique as it has no evil parents, secretive past, vamps and misunderstandings. Whatever negativity is there gets resolved pretty quickly.

A sore point of reflection for the writer and director ( if they even read IMDB...they probably don't, but if they wish to get viewed across the world, reading IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes is the way to go), why do they have stories which have love affairs that start in school? Seems a little...umm.. creepy, iykwim...There is a reason why school time romances don't last into adulthood. And very frankly, I wouldn't want to be with the boys I saw playing booger handball-- some experiences cannot be lived down.

All in all, this show is a great watch.

Bailing 'cuz ML yanks the FL lead hard by the arm - a lot
OldGuyUS23 May 2023
I am bailing on this series during episode 6. The reason is that the male lead has a habit of jerking the female lead around by the arm - hard! This is a show from 2020 and I can't believe this type of behavior of a man towards a woman is depicted in this way. The FL should have slapped him in the face and told him to go to h*ll*. But no, she just puts up with it. Gads!

Otherwise the story would have been interesting and fun (except for the stupid love triangle which most asian dramas have.) It is really too bad, but this verging-on-assault behavior by the ML is just super annoying.

By the way, the 2nd female lead, played I think by Xiao Yan is so beautiful - and cute and adorable, I wanted to watch the series just to see how it turned out for her! Too bad :-(

Rare gem 💎 in chinese dramaland. Repeat worthy drama.
priyagoswami-944723 April 2022
Right from the start of this show, it will make you in love with both of the lead pair. Their looks, their acting, their chemistry, everything about this show is heartmelting. Lastly the looks of Leo Luo are killer. You cant see anywhere when he pops on the screen. One of the best C Dramas. Must watch. Go for it.

Great but longer than needed
priyashashank7919 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I love Bai Lu and Luo Yunxi, and their chemistry is one of the best, this series was great in terms of the lead actors, but I couldn't tolerate the scenes of Bai Lu's best friend, the second lead actress. She was pretentious and simply over the top in everything, and even though I like Riley Wang a lot, I skipped the scenes where he was together with the second female lead, I feel she got too much screen time. As for our main leads, the story could have been over in episode 30, with a beautiful happy ending, but the story writers (I don't know why!) felt the need to stretch the story to two years later, and show the leads living together( why they didn't get married, is beyond me!), working for rival companies, being professional rivals during the day, and lovers at night. Why was there a need for this twist? I would have given the story 9 stars if the story was concluded at episode 30, and 10 stars if the second female lead was shown to be a bit more mature and intelligent.
