In deciding on our next Wtf celebrity to cover, we passed around several names but in the end we all decided that: There could be only One! Despite being basically blind, Christopher Lambert made a name for himself as the king of Sci-Fi action films. One could say he single-handedly kept Blockbuster Video in business as most of his output in the 90’s debuted on the bottom shelves of the video rental chain. But few performers have made their mark on the international stage like Christopher Lambert, alternating between North American schlock and more prestigious French fare. Despite most of us knowing Lambert mainly for two iconic roles, there is much more to know about this American-born French actor; it’s time we find out just Wtf Happened to Christopher Lambert.

While Henry Cavill defined Superman for a decade, he has now moved on from the franchise and has been working on new projects. The actor was last seen in Matthew Vaughn’s spy comedy Argylle and is set to feature in the historical action comedy The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. The actor is also working on a Highlander reboot.
During the premiere of the Guy Ritchie directorial, Henry Cavill reportedly made fun of his unlucky streak as Superman. While talking about his collaborations with Ritchie, he mentioned his alleged post-credits scene in the director’s King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. He also took a dig at his appearance in Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam while doing so.

According to The Wrap, Pruitt Taylor-Vince has been cast as Jonathan Kent in James Gunn’s Superman. I can’t say that’s who I expected to play Clark Kent’s adoptive human father in the movie, but I’ve always been a big fan of the actor, who has appeared in everything from The X-Files to Deadwood to The Walking Dead.
Pruitt Taylor-Vince will join the long line of actors who have brought Jonathan Kent to life in movies and television, including Glenn Ford in the original Superman movie, John Schneider in Smallville, Kevin Costner in Man of Steel, and many more. As I mentioned above, Taylor-Vince might not feel like the obvious choice for the role, but he’s a true talent and I hope fans give him a chance.

Henry Cavill is all set to collaborate again with director Guy Ritchie on the historic action film The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. Based on the real-life special forces team assembled by Winston Churchill, the film has an ensemble cast along with Cavill, including Eiza González, Alan Ritchson, Henry Golding, and Carry Elwes.
The action-heavy film has two heavy hitters in the form of Cavill and Ritchson. However, Cavill mentioned that he was glad that the Reacher star took away his burden of doing a lot of action sequences. Cavill mentioned that Ritchson took the bulk of the action sequences while he could concentrate on his acting.

Henry Cavill Pokes Fun at His Controversial Justice League Mustache - Main Image
Henry Cavill recently joked about his controversial mustache when he played Superman in the 2017 theatrical version of Justice League.
During the reshoots under the direction of Joss Whedon, Cavill filmed his scenes as the Man of Steel with a mustache as he was also working on Mission: Impossible - Fallout during that time.
Through the use of CGI, the mustache was removed from Cavill's face in the film. However, fans found the final results to be laughable as the VFX work looked too obvious and it became the subject of ridicule ever since.

Beginning with a rip-off of the (depending on who you ask) iconic Scott Free Productions logo––albeit with a rabbit instead of bird––I knew I was in for something deeply derivative with Out of Darkness. And perhaps that technically proficient-if-soulless feel that defines many of one Scott brother is what particularly shapes this new horror picture. It’s essentially a prehistoric slasher, the film’s opening taking place around a spooky campfire tale that, for one, makes clear its lineage back to the original Friday the 13th. Yet the stock butchered teenagers of that franchise were honestly preferable company to the muddy, grunting Before Common Era folk we’re stuck with.
Certainly there’s a heavier pall over this group, like pregnancy and the lineage, as we follow the family unit of leader Adem (Chuku Modu), doted-over son Heron (Luna Mwezi), and the bun-in-the-oven Ave (Iola Evans). Accompanying them...

The tea leaves have aligned, and industry insider Daniel Richtman sees another casting for Lionsgate‘s Highlander reboot emerging from the pattern. According to Richtman, Michael Fassbender plays the villain in the Chad Stahelski-directed reimagining of the classic action film. According to Richtman, Fassbender is in talks to star alongside Henry Cavill as a “Mongol Warrior.”
Please remember that whispers about Michael Fassbender’s involvement with Highlander are rumors. We must wait for Lionsgate to make it official.
The new rumor already has Highlander fans buzzing about Fassbender playing a version of the original Highlander villain, the Kurgan. Portrayed by Clancy Brown in the 1986 fantasy action-adventure film, the Kurgan is an immortal warrior and thorn in the side of Connor MacLeod, the Highlander (Christopher Lambert).

Henry Cavill, known for his roles in big franchises, is gearing up for something exciting. He’s part of the ‘Highlander’ reboot, a series famous for its thrilling swordfights and immortal warriors. Cavill, a fan himself, hints this new movie will explore much more than the original films did. He’s been keeping tabs on the script and believes it’ll be more than just flashy action.
The original ‘Highlander’ movie, released back in 1986, was just the beginning. It sparked sequels, TV shows, and even comics, all diving into the lives of these eternal warriors. Chad Stahelski, the director for the reboot, plans to respect this legacy, weaving in elements from both the movies and the TV series.

When Matthew Vaughn’s all-star comedy spy thriller “Argylle” was first announced back in July 2021, before Apple TV+ swooped in to buy the rights for $200 million, it was stated that the movie would be the first of at least three films in a major new franchise.
Two-and-half years on and “Argylle” — starring Bryce Dallas Howard, Henry Cavill, Sam Rockwell, Dua Lipa and Samuel L. Jackson — is premiering worldwide on Friday. But despite the deep pockets of Apple, two of its leading men claim they haven’t — yet — signed up for more.
“I guess we just want to see how it does,” Rockwell told Variety, with Cavill — who plays the fictional spy Argylle — adding that it “all depends on whether the audience likes what we’ve done.”
However, both Rockwell and Cavill asserted that, were further “Argylle” features given the go ahead, they’d definitely be interested.

Lionsgate has been developing a reboot of the classic 1986 Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery film Highlander for about ten years. But, it looks like the studio is ready to get rolling on it. According to Deadline, pre-production on the film will start later this year.
The studio seemed to get excited about the project after screenwriter Ryan Condal turned in a script that he wrote for the film that they flipped over. Condal is best known for writing Dwayne Johnson's Hercules and the upcoming film Rampage.
The movie is being helmed by John Wick director Chad Stahelski and it will be a new take on the story of an immortal Scottish swordsman who can only be killed by decapitation. Patrick Wachsberger, Head of Lionsgate’s Motion Picture Group, had this to say in a statement:

John Wick director Chad Stahelski has jumped on board a new film project with his producing partner Basil Lwanyk, and it's a good one! He is set to helm a feature film adaptation of the Image Comics comic book Kill or Be Killed from Ed Brubaker, who is best known for his work on Captain America and the creator of the Winter Soldier.
If you're not familiar with the story, it follows a depressed college student who attempts to commit suicide. "He survives due to unlikely events but is soon visited by a demon who explains that he was the one who spared the student's life. But there's a price to be paid: Going forward, the young man will be allowed to live one month for every person he kills."
That's such a fascinating and dark concept that will certainly make for a crazy film and it's a great project for Stahelski to take on.

To mark this weekend’s release of Ferdinand, from the studio behind the Ice Age films, we chatted to its art director, Thomas Cardone…
When art director Tom Cardone talks about designing the style of a film, he could be talking about music. It’s all a matter of rhythm and counterpoint, contrast and dynamics. For Ferdinand, Blue Sky Studio’s adaptation of Munro Leaf’s 1936 children’s book about a Spanish bull who prefers flowers to fighting, Cardone and his team developed a stylised visual language inspired by the rolling landscapes of Southern Spain.

The goal was to make things “a little more fun than photorealism”, something achieved by sparing, but bold use of colour, comically stretching proportions, and repeating patterns the team discovered in authentic Spanish ceramics in the film’s paving slabs, wooden table tops and more.

John Wick and John Wick: Chapter 2 are pretty damn solid action flicks. They have just enough story to keeping up the momentum and build the world, but not so much that it bogged down the narrative. Perhaps even most impressively, they are films that utilize actor Keanu Reeves’ stronger aspects as an actors, all while avoiding his weaker ones.
The first film was a huge surprise for most moviegoers, and on the heels of that success, John Wick: Chapter 2 managed to be an incredibly worthy successor to the first one. Of course, because money is a think, and another sequel could lead to the studio attaining more of it, but luckily for fans, star Keanu Reeves are on board for this threequel.

John Wick took everyone by surprise when it was released in 2014. Sneaking up on audiences as stealthily as its titular character approaches a target, the film became a modest box office success before gaining a huge fandom on DVD and Blu-ray. This growth in popularity was reflected in the fact that John Wick: Chapter 2 literally doubled the box office take of the first movie – which means attention has immediately focused on a third film. Fans can now dial up their excitement for the next chapter of the saga, as director Chad Stahelski has been discussing John Wick 3 and it sounds like the wait won’t be too long.
Speaking to Collider ahead of the DVD and Blu-ray release of Chapter 2, Stahelski gave an update on the status of the third instalment, which has yet to be officially announced.

A co-director with David Leitch on the first film, Stahelski makes his solo directorial debut with the sequel, and speaking to Scott Davis about the film, he said that he was well aware of the reviews the film is getting and that he feels such things are healthy for filmmakers:
“Shocked – we tried to read everyone, I think it’s healthy as a director. You try not to take it to heart when they say good or bad but you want to know if you’re being interpreted right.

After the success of John Wick, stuntman turned director Chad Stahelski found himself with offers flooding in. However, unlike his co-director, David Leitch, who departed for The Coldest City and Deadpool 2, Stahelski stayed on board the Keanu Reeves-led action series and this weekend he brought us John Wick: Chapter 2. Another bloody, thrilling and wholly enjoyable flick, it undoubtedly opened up even more doors for the filmmaker, and where he’ll go next is anyone’s guess.

In much the same way that he helped give Keanu Reeves his first truly watchable role in years, John Wick co-director Chad Stahelski is going to see what he can do about undoing that bullshit alien stuff from the Highlander movies. Stahelski has been tapped to direct a reboot of the property, and he’s invested in reimagining a lot of what we know about immortal beings who have nighttime sword fights. To that end, he’s been given free rein—Stahelski tells Entertainment Weekly that “the creative team, the producers and the studio that’s behind it have kind of said, ‘It’s yours to play with’.”
The director says he wants to build a whole world of immortals, which sounds like a good plan for a man already eyeing a trilogy of new Highlander films. But when he says “world,” he’s not referring to that Zeistian nonsense...

Upon its release, “John Wick” became a critical and commercial success, earning $78 million worldwide. Its sequel, “John Wick: Chapter 2,” to be released in theaters this February, sees the return of Keanu Reeves as the legendary hitman and promises to be an even bigger adventure.
As Mr. Wick’s story continues forward, director Chad Stahelski and screenwriter Derek Kolstad have already explored the character’s backstory and life before the first film. The duo have even written bits of a prequel to possibly make it into a TV series.

Lionsgate has been trying to get a Highlander remake/reboot off the ground since 2008, but today brings news that hopefully means it's actually going to happen in the near future; they've hired the John Wick 2 director to helm it.
As a long time fan of the Highlander franchise, I've been waiting a long time to see something new from the series. It's a premise ripe with potential (though many of the sequels failed to capitalize on them), and given the technology/choreography of today could be filled with some awesome action.
The road to seeing a remake/reboot happen, however, has been long and winding. Summit/Lionsgate have been trying to make it a reality for eight years now and despite having gone through three directors already (Justin Lin, Juan Carlos Fresnadillo and Cedric Nicolas-Troyan), think they've found the right person with John Wick's Chad Stahelski.

There can be only one... though in the case of Lionsgate and Summit's planned Highlander reboot, many directors have come and gone since the rights were acquired back in 2008, including the likes of Justin Lin, Juan Carlos Fresnadillo and Cedric Nicolas-Troyan. However, THR now reckons the studio has finally settled on Chad Stahelski, who co-helmed John Wick along with our new Deadpool 2 director David Leitch. "I've been a huge fan of the original property since I saw it in high school," Stahelski told the trade. "Such great themes of immortality, love, and identity are all wrapped up in such colorful mythology. I can't think of a better property that gives the opportunity to create interesting characters, mythic themes and action set pieces." It's been a while since we heard anything about this one, but back when Nicolas-Troyan was still attached both Tom Cruise and Dave Bautista were rumored to...

We’ve not heard anything for a while on the planned movie reboot of Highlander, that for a few years now has had director Cedric Nicolas-Troyan attached to it to direct . There had been rumours at one stage that Dave Bautista was going to star in it, but concrete news has been thin on the ground.

Paramount isn’t messing around with plans to evolve its mega-grossing Transformers franchise into an expansive cinematic universe. Today brings news that I, Robot scribe Akiva Goldsman, previously tasked by Michael Bay, Steven Spielberg and Lorenzo di Bonaventura with assembling a writer’s room to pitch ideas for Transformers spinoffs and a multi-part sequel, has finalized his brain trust – and it’s a pretty stunning lineup.
The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman, Iron Man scribes Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, Pacific Rim 2 and The Incredible Hulk‘s Zak Penn, and Jeff Pinkner (The Amazing Spider-Man 2) have all been recruited as four separate, creative teams that will work to transform Transformers from one franchise into a rich, diverse universe of films. Goldsman, who has known Bay since their college days, worked tirelessly to bring all these sci-fi heavy hitters into the fold, and though the ink isn’t yet dry on their deals,...

So that's what the Transformers writer's room is going to look like, eh? While I don't tally the worth of a writer based on how many news stories they break, I will admit that I was deeply irritated when the story was first written about the notion of Akiva Goldsman spearheading a team of writers to develop "Transformers" sequels. I'd been tipped about it a few weeks earlier, and I was trying to get a second source I trusted, either at the studio or on the agency side of things. I pushed, and while I was sure the story was right, I couldn't run it. Excruciating. Part of my hesitance was that I didn't want to be wrong on a story like that because it's a threat more than anything. Goldsman and Bay breaking story together? Holy cow. Now Deadline's got a list of names they say are the final hires,...

Given that everything else seems to have been remade and/or rebooted, that's something of a surprise. Not least because there are themes in the original movie and subsequent TV show that have hardly lost their relevance.

Since his turn in Guardians of the Galaxy, former wrestling star Dave Bautista is becoming highly sought after. While he's currently filming on the new James Bond movie, Spectre, reports have come in now that his next role will place him as the barbaric villain in the Highlander remake!
The scoopers over on Latino Review are at it again, this time with the knowledge of what Dave Bautista is going to be up to once he's done with his henchman role on Spectre:
Bautista is going to play the bad ass barbarian role of The Kurgan in Summit's Highlander reboot for visual effects artist turned first time director Cedric Nicolas-Troyan.
Frankly, I'm loving this choice. The original Highlander remains one of my favorite films and something that's stuck with me since I was younger. The Kurgan remains one of the best villains around and is an iconic role in my mind.

That meant the film needed a director, and Universal have given Nicolas-Troyan the job despite his lack of previous shot-calling work. Wait, I'll get to that. He's replacing Frank Darabont ("Shawshank Redemption"), who last week dropped out of the project. The reason given was "creative differences," but then again that is usual the go-to-line when you exit a project. As for who Cedric Nicolas-Troyan is, he has been serving as a second unit director and visual effects supervisor on various projects. He did so with Disney's Maleficent and even Rupert Sanders' Snow White and the Huntsman, so he is familiar with the look of the film. He was even nominated for an Oscar based on his work with the film's visual effects. At one point he was supposed to direct Summit's Highlander reboot. The sequel sends the Huntsman on a quest...

Visual effects specialist Cedric Nicolas-Troyan is in talks to take over from Frank Darabont as director of the upcoming prequel to "Snow White and the Huntsman". Darabont departed the project last week due to creative differences.
The film is set before the events of the 2012 movie and show how Chris Hemsworth’s title character and Charlize Theron’s evil queen Ravenna met before the events in the previous film. Emily Blunt has been in talks to play a villain.
Nicolas-Troyan served as second unit director on the original movie and has been a visual effects man on some major blockbusters like the "Pirates of the Caribbean" films.
