Laverne Cox is freaking out about a new opportunity. No, it’s not about her Emmy-nominated role on Orange Is the New Black. And, no, it’s not her exemplary work as a trans activist. Or her growing Instagram fandom, which now counts over 2.6 million extremely engaged followers.
No, it’s bigger than that. It’s about Beyoncé.
“It’s like I’m dreaming,” Cox tells PeopleStyle when she tells us the news that’s giving her butterflies: The well-known Beyoncé superfan—who showed off an itty-bitty black bikini to celebrate the singer’s birthday this week—just scored a...

While the current crop of female movie stars is nothing short of extraordinary, we’ll always have a place for the classic women of cinema. These are the women who go way back to the 40s, 50s, and even early 60s. We’re talking names like Marilyn Monroe, Jayne Mansfield, Vivian Leigh, Ava Gardner, and the list goes on and on. Beauty back then wasn’t looked at in the same way as it is today. And it certainly wasn’t displayed in ways it is today. Back then it was way more subtle. It might have been a wink or a certain facial

The 40-year-old has no plans to "slow down" or "stop".
"I think there's a weird thing with women when we're high achievers and have high goals, sometimes it's like, 'Why don't you just sit down and have a baby?' I know I'm an over-achiever and I'm not apologetic about it," vogue.co.uk quoted Banks as saying.
She added: "I won't be slowing down any time soon; it's only going to get bigger."

Dads isn’t going to back off just because critics started throwing out words like, “racist,” and, “offensive.” In fact, as you might expect from something with the name Seth MacFarlane attached to it, a recent promo celebrates the fact that there is controversy surrounding the show, and, apparently, hopes to show that “real people” don’t find it offensive.
The simple fact is that there is (at least) one scene in the show’s pilot which, at the very least, ought to cause you to raise your eyebrows. I’m not the ultimate judge on what’s offensive, and neither are you, but I squirmed in my seat a little, and thought, “Uhhh… what now?”
The question is, is that really “wrong”?
Well, we’ll get to that.

Fox has one of its better slates coming your way with the new season, especially if you take the midseason shows into account. Some of these shows may not jump out at you now as must-see, but some of them are going to take over, if I’m any judge anyway.
Clear showcase offerings Dads, Almost Human, and Us & Them are guaranteed to take off early. Almost Human has J.J. Abrams recognition to pull people in, though it looks to be a show that could flounder after a few episodes, even if I hope it doesn’t. The other two are going to become hits. Unfortunately, we have to wait until mid-season for the Gavin & Stacey remake.
Rake also looks like a winner, as long as the translation can be made to work as an Americanized product, and the show actually delivers what made the Australian original so brilliant.

It's all fun in the sun for Vanessa Minnillo. The erstwhile True Beauty judge enjoyed a leisurely bike ride around Maui with her hubby, Nick Lachey, on Thursday and showed off one buff bikini bod to admiring paparazzi. The newlyweds, who tied the knot in July, were on holiday in Hawaii this week to mark the occasion of their birthdays, which happen to fall on the same day—Nov. 9. While Minnillo kept her hat on, her hunky other half opted to accompany her shirtless (he wasn't in 98 Degrees for nothin', ladies). But with Lachey's ex-wife, Jessica Simpson, recently announcing she's expecting her first child and The Sing-Off host revealing to E! News over the summer that he...

Vanessa Minnillo "can't wait" to have children with Nick Lachey. The 30-year-old TV star, who got engaged to the singer-turned-presenter in November after four years of dating, would love to have a large family with her 37-year-old spouse but knows she might change her mind at some stage.
She said, "I turned 30 and I got engaged and I started really thinking about the next chapter. One of those is family. Ideally, I would love to have three or four, but ask me after the first one. Ultimately, I just want them to be healthy."
Vanessa and Nick have still not set a date for their wedding because they are so busy with their respective work commitments, but the "True Beauty" host says they are now considering a winter wedding.
Explaining their delay in setting a date, she told People, "It's just because of our work schedules. For us, work is important.

We hardly believe that supermodel Tyra Banks needs that much schooling in the ways of business. At 37, she has bankrolled her supermodel career into a brand and her net worth is a reported $90 million.
Yet, the Boston Herald reports that Tyra has been spotted in the hallowed halls of the Harvard Business School and she's a student. She's taking an executive education class specifically designed for entrepreneurs.
And she has spirit, yes she does. She tweeted pictures of herself looking college-chic wearing a Harvard Business School sweatshirt to bed.
Tyra is definitely qualified to enroll in a class designed for entrepreneurs. Her entertainment company, Bankable Productions, is behind The CW's "America's Next Top Model," ABC's "True Beauty," and her daytime talk show.
And, you know what? We're sure there's always room for more money in the Tyra Banks.

We have new clips as well as interviews from NBC's upcoming series premiere episode of "School Pride." From executive producers Cheryl Hines ("Curb Your Enthusiasm") and Denise Cramsey ("Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" and "True Beauty"), “School Pride" is a proactive, alternative series that tells the stories of communities coming together to renovate their aging and broken public schools. While transforming the school, the community also restores its sense of value and school pride. Catch it from 10/15/10 at 8:00 Pm. The cameras follow students, teachers and parents as they roll up their sleeves and rebuild their own schools, concluding with the unveiling of a brand new, completely transformed school. They are motivated by a quartet of community organizers and personalities -- Swat Commander Tom Stroup, interior designer Susie Castillo (“House of Payne”), comedian and former substitute teacher Kym Whitley (“Til Death”) and journalist Jacob Soboroff ("AMC News”). ABC's reality show "True Beauty" has crowned its second season winner on Monday, July 19 night. Shining with his inner beauty is Taylor Bills, a 24-year-old former Arizona League Seattle Mariners professional baseball player from Irvine, CA.
The show conceals the true objective in looking for a winner by telling the contestants that they want the beautiful ones to win while in fact they judge them by their inner beauty. This was revealed to the shocked final three which included Bills, Erika Othen and Craig Francyzk. They were given a key to the judges' spy room and were played a footage of their bad behavior in the last eight weeks.
In the discussion among the judges, Carson Kressley said Bills is with temper while Othen is catty. After the debate, the judges agreed on letting go Craig as the third-placer and Othen as the runner-up. Bills, as a winner, got to...

Normal 0 false false false En-us X-none X-none Go-karts. Airplanes. Steve-o squirting lime juice into his eyeballs. These were just a few of the oddities capping off season 2 of True Beauty. I felt like the only thing missing were giant pandas wreaking havoc in electronic stores and Johnny Knoxville prepping his crotch for target practice. (Maybe Executive Produce Ashton Kutcher is saving that for Season 3...?)...

Taylor Bills, the 24-year-old former Arizona League Seattle Mariners professional baseball player from Irvine, CA, took home the "True Beauty" title on Monday (July 19) night.
Second place went to Erika Othen, the 25-year-old actress/model from Long Island, NY and third place went to Craig Franczyk, the 29-year-old retail manager from Winnipeg, Canada.
The ABC show pretended to look for the new face of Las Vegas, when in fact it put its outwardly beautiful contestants into situation designed to show their true colors.
The Zap2it reader poll had Erika picked as the overwhelming favorite to win, but she wasn't able to let her inner light shine bright enough. Taylor was the runner-up among Zap2it readers, while Craig only managed to eke out 5% of the vote.
What do you think, "True Beauty" fans? Did the right person win?

Tonight, season two of True Beauty comes to a close. Three pretty-faced contestants remain to answer the question Snow White's wicked stepmother (and producer Tyra Banks) are famous for lamenting: who is the fairest of them all?
The show's premise (for those of you just tuning in) is a competition to determine which contestant exhibits the most outer and inner beauty; the catch: the contestants don't know about the whole "inner beauty" bit and believe they're competing on looks alone. Cue the bad behavior. Whoever proves to be the most saintly (as determined by hidden camera challenges) takes home $100,000 and a spot in People Magazine's 100 Most Beautiful People issue.

As another "True Beauty" season comes to a close, we're faced with a fairly lame trio of contenders.
On Monday, July 19, the show will choose a winner, the good-looking person who's proved they have the most inner beauty through hidden camera challenges that capture their true colors when it comes to acting kindly and honorably.
But we all know that the fun of the show is to see them behave badly.
Let's see who's left:
At this point it seems to be a foregone conclusion that Erika Othen, the bubbly cocktail waitress and singer from Long Island, will win since she's never been up for elimination and she tends to go above and beyond when it comes to the "compassion" challenges. She's won two challenges and only failed one challenge, when she took a peek at interview questions. She's rather annoying, but hey, one can be annoying and nice at the same time.

We’re approaching the finale of True Beauty‘s second season, and the show capitalizing on the great fun inherent in watching pretty, stupid people act really stupid has truly worn out its welcome. As was the case in the first season, those responsible for the show don’t actually understand the theory of the show, and apart from the Real World-esque joys of watching morons yell at each other, and repeatedly prove their commitment to hair gel and cocoa butter over an ability to read, the show has no hook.
Theoretically a reality competition looking for those who have inner beauty to go along with their outer beauty, the inner beauty challenges only come into play after contestants find themselves at the bottom of the weekly “above board” challenge. Thus, the show has us play along as we basically make fun of these sorry individuals, and we scrutinize between...

She wasn’t in the new ‘Machete’ trailer, but Lindsay Lohan sure is on this movie poster, licking a gun. As you’ll remember, Lindsay is no stranger to posing with weapons near her mouth, having graduated from 2007′s minor-league cutlery phase featuring True Beauty host Vanessa Minnillo. This marks the second time in one week that a visual made possible by Lindsay Lohan’s opposable thumbs has made me die inside. It’s a banner week for her.
What a fun, sexy time for Lindsay!

ABC’s True Beauty continues to teach me important life lessons on how to be a good person. Help people look for their phantom lost jewelry (which I would do anyway because they’d be hidden gems). Do not accept free vests from salesgirls who really want to give them to me. Never peek at the contents of an envelope in an elevator that seems private, because chances are a merry band of Oompa Loompas — Vanessa Minnillo, Carson Kressley, and Beth Ostrosky Stern — are watching me. They are watching, and they care. It’s their life’s work. Anyway, last night’s episode,...

First of all, I’m sorry. I could just spend this whole post listing all the ways in which the image to your right is wrong, and how I should be fired for making you look at it when all you wanted to do was read PopWatch, a website usually not infested with crabs (we have our good days and our bad, y’all), and for making sure Michael Slezak was cc’ed on my photo request even though he totally didn’t need to be. But instead I think I’ll just recap last night’s episode of ABC’s True Beauty.

This week on "When I Was 17," Pitbull, Vanessa Minnillo and Chris Paul all sat down to talk about their lives back in high school. While Minnillo had her eye on a certain car, Paul got himself a crew and Pitbull decided if show business was really right for him.
Minnillo said that, despite really wanting a certain car, her dad went and disappointed her. "The Christmas of '97, I wanted a car, and I wanted a Toyota Celica, like, something fierce," the "True Beauty" host recalled. "I thought it was the hottest car that I've ever seen."
She did get a car that year: "It's everything you would think of, except for the fact that it was no red Celica. I got the rusty,...

Talk about True Beauty! Carson Kressley is posing a serious challenge to Jersey Shore “star” Snooki for the title of Best Loompalike (and I haven’t even watched this week’s Real Housewives yet).
I can’t believe the Wonka factory keeps letting its custodial staff sneak out to appear on reality television. They have serious work to do!

You can always count on an idiotic reality show for a quick-hit vocab lesson. The “red carpet challenge” of last night’s True Beauty gave “the Beauties” quite a scare, as they had to ask Las Vegas tourists five simple questions that contained the difficult Sat words ostensibly and cacophony. Marvel at Beauty David’s attempt to pronounce a word that literally means “harsh sound” in today’s DVR Screengrab of the Day! The only thing that would make it better is if his job description, “DJ/Astrologer,” was shown as well. You can’t win ‘em all.

What is it about Mondays that seems so depressing? Even if you're not working on Monday, it's just got that air about it, that "Oh, man, I can't believe it's Monday again" drag that hangs over everything. Doesn't help when it's also all rainy, and when there's nothing but crap on the TV that evening. Here's Monday night's offerings:
8:00pm: "The Bachelorette" on ABC
"Lie to Me" on Fox
"Little People, Big World" on Tlc
"The Secret Life of the American Teenager" on ABC Family. All I can ever remember about this show is that clip they showed on "The Soup" one time where some girl was talking about how her dad died because she had really awesome sex. Aside from the ridiculous plot contrivance that must've involve,d who was having really awesome sex as a teenager? Most people I know took till college to get to a...

Vanessa Minnillo has admitted that her childhood dream was to settle down at a young age. The True Beauty judge, who is currently dating Nick Lachey, said that she hoped to be married by the age of 25 so that she could have children right away. "I’ve been excited to have kids since I can remember," she told People. "I was more excited about having kids than getting married!" The 29-year-old revealed that she and Lachey have discussed starting a family (more)...

Oprah Winfrey's upcoming cable network OWN is making several executive changes and developing three shows.
The network's programming department is shifting top executives, and Own is appointing former MTV Networks programming veteran John MacDonald as COO/executive vp programming and digital.
On the programming side, Own is working on shows starring celebrity chef Cat Cora and fashion expert Carson Kressley; each involves makeovers or personal transformation.
The first is a pilot order where Cora visits families in need of a crucial lifestyle change. The former Iron Chef will demonstrate how to combine healthy eating with busy lifestyles. Shed Media ("Real Housewives of New York City") will produce.
The network also is piloting "Confrontation: The Conversation," which documents a mediation program where a crime victim and offender come together to try to find a measure of closure. Tom Forman ("Breakthrough With Tony Robbins") will exec produce.
