- Walter struggles to balance his growing empire with his responsibilities at home. Meanwhile, Jesse's relationship takes a turn that threatens to derail everything.
- Just as Skyler goes into labor, Walt has to deliver his 38 lbs. of meth to the wholesaler who has agreed to buy the lot for $1.2 million. Jesse and his girlfriend are now both doing heroin and when Walt races to Jesse's house to collect their stuff, he's stoned out of his mind. When Jesse wakes up the next morning, he has no recollection that Walt had been there the night before to get their stuff and freaks out thinking he's been robbed. Walt lets him stew for the day. Jane's father learns that she and Jesse are back on drugs and insists that she return to rehab or he will call the police. She agrees but Jesse has told her about his windfall and she knows exactly what to do. Walt's biggest problem is that he has all of this money but can't spend it because everyone thinks he's on the verge of bankruptcy. Walter Jr may have provided him with the solution.—garykmcd
- Walt concludes his business and delivers his meth, receiving 1.2 million dollars, but loses the delivery of his daughter Holly. When he goes to the hospital, he meets Mary, Skyler and the baby. Meanwhile Jesse and Jane are using heroin and when he wakes up and does not find the meth in the kitchen, he believes he was robbed. He calls Walt but he does not give any explanation to him. Walt has a serious problem since he has money but cannot spend it since everybody from his family believes he is broken. Walt Jr. builds a website to collect donations for Walt's treatment and Saul Goodman sees the solution to laundry his money. Walt holds Jesse's money ordering him to go to rehab first; otherwise, he will spend his money in drugs. When Donald discovers that his daughter is using drugs again with Jesse, he calls the police, but she promises to go to rehab on the next morning. Jesse tells her that Walt has to give him his share of US$ 480,000, and she calls Walt and blackmails him.—Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
- Walt delivers the inventory in time to Gus but misses his daughter's birth. He arrives at the hospital, where he finds that Ted drove Skyler to the hospital. Walter goes back home to hide the cash. Walter had hidden the cash inside the walls of his house. Walter had slapped Jesse out of his drug induced stupor to find where he had hidden the drugs. So, when Jesse regained consciousness, he believed that he had been robbed and had no idea that Walter had delivered the Meth to Gus.
Jane wakes up when she is phoned by her father, Donald (John De Lancie), because she is late for a narcotics anonymous meeting. At lunch afterwards, she does not mention that she has started using heroin again and acts like she does not know Jesse when her father asks about him. Jesse panics that the Meth has been stolen and calls Walter to let him know that he has been robbed. Walter refuses to tell him anything, but then Jesse sees the 4 messages on the answering machine and realizes that Walter sold the Meth to Gus. Skyler decides to go back to work to earn some money for Walter's upcoming surgery.
Jesse confronts Walt about his share of the payment, but Walt refuses to disburse the funds until Jesse can prove his sobriety. He promises to pay Jesse when he knows that Jesse and Jane are clean. Later, Jesse and Jane take another shot of heroin in his apartment. As he passes out, Jesse complains about Walt holding out on him, telling Jane that he is owed $480,000 (1.2 million divided 2 ways minus Saul's fee of 20%).
Donald calls Jane again when she is late to another rehab meeting; unbeknownst to Jane, he is waiting directly outside. Seeing her emerging from Jesse's door, he barges in and finds evidence of them both using heroin. He is furious that she has relapsed and calls the police, but Jane promises she will enter rehab the next day. He relents and gives her another chance. Donald agrees to give her one day to settle her work and personal affairs before going to rehab. When Donald leaves, Jane tells Jesse that if they have enough money, nobody can make them do anything.
In an effort to minimize the cost of Walt's upcoming surgery, Walt Jr. sets up a website to gather donations for his father's medical expenses. It is quickly used by Saul as a way to forward Walt's earnings without raising suspicion. Saul tells him that he will contact a hacker to make the money look like it is coming from computers all over the world and avert suspicions by putting in small amounts.
After discovering Jesse's payday, Jane blackmails Walt into delivering Jesse's share. She says that she will reveal that Walt is a high school teacher who dealt drugs and that his brother-in-law is a DEA agent. The whole family will go down if this was to hit the news. Walt delivers the money to Jesse and Jane, who are ecstatic and talk of getting clean, but still feel a strong pull to use their remaining heroin. By chance, Walt goes to a bar and meets Jane's father. Donald makes the observation that you can never give up on your family, because you don't have anyone else. Motivated by Donald's words, Walt goes back to Jesse's house.
Later, Walt returns to Jesse's to attempt to make amends and to help him break his addiction. He finds Jesse and Jane passed out in bed after a drug binge, both lying on their sides. He tries to shake Jesse conscious and as he does so, Jane flops over onto her back. Jane vomits and begins to suffocate. Although the episode has established that Walt knows exactly what to do in such an emergency, he simply stands and watches his would-be blackmailer die. Before leaving the building, Walt begins to cry.
