Determined to make it through this terrible show just to see if there was a point, the selective and contradictory ethics and riotousness is a bit laughable at this point.
The kwame thing confuses me, the girl refers to him as a criminal and a predator, I'm confused as to where this actually would fall as a crime, as a straight dude if I decided I wanted to sleep with a man through an app then bail, yeah it's selfish, deceitful but to me it two adults consent it's not a crime? I've dated women who have lied about stuff I've lied to impress when I was younger, I just can't work out if people are just way to sensitive these days, think they're trying to create this world of entitlement and value that's not based on anything but weak morale compasses and laziness. Then when something goes against them it's almost like when a kid has a tantrum. Is it wrong to lie to get sex? Yeah it's wrong! Is it a crime what kwame did? No I don't think so, just kinda mean, tbf the girl seemed vile deep down anyway.
Bella has got to the point of beyond irritating, the constant toilet scenes, the stupid dialogue, the lack of respect and work ethic, the constant lying, tbh she was like this pre trauma so it doesn't work for me. If she was a high functioning person before hand it'd have been more impactful.
I don't get what this shows even attempting to achieve? To bring up tired cliches? To celebrate rubbish people like Terry, the arrogant narcissistic sociopath? A Romeo and Juliet with a drug lord and an emotionally damaged person? To hate white people? To portray the black stereotype that is borderline offensive?
I just don't understand the point, how this was critically acclaimed is ridiculous. But like everything there are reasons things happen that everyone ignores and paints on a smile.
Also why would an author block someone to then meet them? Yeah it's a fake name but it just makes such little sense to re risk a career on the person who destroyed you! Such bad writing. Plus let's be real the stupidity Bella continually shows I'm her "career" is imbecilic at best but yeah must be shocking to constantly let down your employer, beg for an advance, lie, dodge, hound them for favours, show no honesty and treat them as stupid. Poor Bella
Plus what restaurant openly replaces a meal at a table that's been cooked , that Terry is possibly the most irritating character I've seen in years, the delusion of these people is astounding
Terrible show.
