The philosophy of this film is incredibly refreshing! Fishing with Dynamite reveals the downfalls of American capitalism and provides unbiased thinking regarding the solution. This movie is great for all participants in business-from stakeholders, to shareholders, and every CEO. If you want to learn about business ethics and conscious capitalism, yet in a very interesting way, then I highly recommend this film.

In this lucid documentary filled with interesting real-life stories, I learned about the difference between focusing on shareholders and stakeholders. I learned that there IS a way to be both ethical and financially successful, to increase revenue while also creating sustainable products. In a day when capitalism is coming under attack and we are more polarized than ever, this nuanced but easy-to-understand documentary offers a solution that people across the political spectrum can support.
Whether you are a cheerleader or skeptic of capitalism, this is a good introduction to its positives and downsides. Best of all, it offers a solution to the problem it critiques. Recommended for students and anyone who cares about our economy and wants to understand it better.

When I heard the topic of this movie I assumed it would be dry and boring like majority of all documentaries. I was greatly surprised on it's ability to keep my ADD mind interested for the entire time. If you want to learn how business were meant to be compared to how they are, this is the exact movie yo.u are looking for.

I found this to be an insightful critique of modern capitalism. I enjoyed how the film used historical evidence to show us how we got to the point we are at today, as well as examples of today's companies' application of the ideology of prioritizing stakeholders instead of only prioritizing shareholders. Interesting film that shows business done well!

As one of the central interview subjects in "Fishing With Dynamite" points out early on, the idea of "Business Ethics" is often treated as a joke, an oxymoron, a contradiction. The idea that business, specifically the image of business within a capitalist system, exists only for the sake of making money is deeply ingrained in the social consciousness. Thus, when those seeking change address economic issues, the answers pointed to almost always come from outside the system.
But here, the documentary team makes the case for fixing capitalism from within capitalism itself, focusing on a diverse group of corporations that have taken innovative approaches to develop a business philosophy that holds onto ethics while still seeking profit. Regardless of whether their case is ultimately convincing to the viewer, the documentary presents its ideas compellingly and creatively, making topics that could easily become dull pop off the screen and sit with the audience for days to come.

Fishing With Dynamite is full of info about capitalism, the stake-holder model, and business ethics as well as insight from various business leaders. Everything was explained in a clear and concise way. I found it to be engaging (and it's only an hour, so you can easily watch it anytime).

What an insightful documentary. Not only was it informative and concise, Fishing with Dynamite explored business ethics and how it can succeed in a capitalist world filled with conservatives and liberals alike. Further, it's not complicated. This could be understood by teenagers and was a good introduction into business practices. I will say the cinematography wasn't amazing or inventive but for what this was it's not a big deal.

I'm someone who previously has tried to avoid conversations about capitalism and the economy at all costs, except for to advocate for fair trade purchases. I felt uneducated and like I didn't have enough of a grasp on the necessary lingo to form a strong or educated opinion (besides knowing that capitalism is bad.) Fishing with Dynamite provides an opportunity for viewers to not only learn about what capitalism could be, or what it should be, but educates with a combination of anecdotes from those within the field (even on opposing sides!), popular film clips, and narration over clever animation.
For someone looking to solidify a grasp on how capitalism can become a good thing, and be used for good, I strongly recommend this film.

I want a better future. I want for giant corporations to have less power. I want the disparity of wealth to lessen. Does this put me in one political camp? IT turns out no, as Fishing with Dynamite showed me. This films will show you how these problems got started, how a poisonous philosophy took hold in the financial sector, and that there really is a better way. This is a truly rare film indeed, because it actually gave me hope. Watch it, and I bet you'll feel the same.

This was such an interesting explanation of American capitalism. It highlights what capitalism in its truest form means and how the American perception of capitalism has shifted dramatically over the last 40 years. With the inspiring stories of certain successful American companies and their business philosophies, this film kept my attention from beginning to end!
