Enjoyable and relaxing
mohamadmahdisafari7 May 2022
This show was so satisfying and relaxing. There is no stress and worries in the ahow that makes you feel bad or nervous which is so important to some people including myself that can't handle anymore stress in their life.

In the whole show, nothing special and deep-meaningful happens which is a little shame bcs at least five times the writer could run a crazy storyline but didn't.

They can make another season but they shouldn't.

Adorable and wholesome
Movi3DO24 June 2021
Alright riding a Super Cub can't be this wholesome right? Right?

Koguma, a reserved high school student living on her own, one day got a Super Cub, and her life was changed for the better as she met more people and made memories.

This was the most surprising anime of this Spring season. It was a pure slice of life that showed Koguma, with her Super Cub, making friends and shared their interest of riding Super Cubs. The first two thirds was just Koguma and her fellow rider, Reiko, figuring out and learned about their Cubs. Some episodes just revolves around them buying stuff or riding around. One might call this boring, but surprisingly, the scenes were not boring at all.

Rather, it was calm, relaxed, and fun watching the girls riding their Cubs around. Part of what made the scenes so calming was the beautiful scenery and soothing background music. The animation was simple, yet effective enough. There were riding scenes where the camera zoomed out to see the whole surrounding, and some were breathtaking and gorgeous.

The three girls were simple yet adorable. Whenever Koguma was able to accomplish something with her Super Cubs, she smiled. However, Shii, the third member of the group, had the most kawaii smile. Those smiles really made the audiences feel happy and soothing. Each character had their own personality, and seeing them interacting with each other and having fun was just a pleasure to watch. There were also unexpectedly funny moments that made me enjoy the story even more.

Overall, seeing Koguma becoming happier and making memories with friends was such a wholesome and soothing experience. I adored this anime a lot. 8/10.

A pleasant break from suspense, thriller and action

Warning: Spoilers
I own a moped. I've had it for nearly 4yrs, but haven't ridden it.

I have an injury and a friend who is paraliysed on his left side of his body so instead of riding the moped, I have been happy with just walking the short distance it takes to get to where I want in my local area and to necessities. One day when I can't walk due to the injury, I use a cane at the moment, I will start riding the moped, afterall I bought it for the future.

Now, thats out of the way, lets talk about this very visually enriching and emotional rewarding anime series.

Every few adventure/action based anime viewing, and I watch alot to break the monotony of digital art and creativity, to watch a series thats just a bit more about human interaction than action itself.

Nothing wrong with all that action based shows offer, since I am a comic book writer/creator. But, every so often it's good to touch base with a different genre like "slice of life" that fills that space in our hearts that isn't about tradegy or trauma.

Super Cub has a beauty of it's own. There were times where I thought that the writer should have made a different choice in an episode, there was only the one -episode 8, with Koguma not calling for help finding Shii right away, even after arriving at the scene.

Then, I realised that Tone Koken, the writer of initial Light Novel, was trying to show us that, possibly in my opinion, Koguma has an emotional disconnect when it comes to seeking help, figuring out that she can rely upon others. And then there is what I think is her ADHD elements/ideations due to being an orphan and having to rely on no one but herself.

This also comes in factor when all she can think of the motorbike as person and not an object, which really disconnects her from seeing the various needs of those around her. Especially Shii, who is craving friendship and a human connection with a peer as a friend.

I could see that all Shii wanted was for Koguma to say, "hey, how about you get a Super Cub too?" "You can save all that energy and time traveling on your pefal bike by just purchasing a moped." But, she doesn't cause she has that disconnect. Which is a reward in itself as a character arc for both the characters and even, Reiko doesn't butt in and say, "Shii, have you thought about getting a moped?" Though, it feels like a nuisance that they don't arrive at Shii getting her own moped for a while, it is important to note that early on, Koguma does tell Shii to make sure that she is confident about want to get on one. She is actaully talking about it as a horse. Something living, which for someone with Shii's own characteristics makes her retreat into herself, cause someone she looks up to dismisses and dissuades from making a change in her life, even though it was just a short interaction.

Back to the earlier personal notes, I have come to realise at a mid point of my life (49), that I have to be carefull how I speak to younger folk around me, cause I run my own pop culture convention, which has a aim to promote art and literature at it's core, that you can either discourage or help by providing a positive encouragement towards getting some who may have the tiniest inkling of interest in what I do.

I base that on my own life and those who have said negative or positivie things. It doesn't take much to change oneself to be a positive influence without pushing one's own ideals onto others.

Encouragement and resources provided can have a lifetime of good in young one's life.

A Perfect Slice of Life
keikoyoshikawa15 April 2021
I've only watched two episodes so far, but it's really good.

What's good: It's realistic - if you ignore the living alone part and the fact that most high school students do not own a motorbike. In any case, HS years can be really awkward, especially if you're an introvert. But you can always make friends, even without trying, if you have a shared interest.

What's even better: The animation is crisp, detailed, and beautiful to watch. Clearly the animators are in love with their Honda Super Cubs, which are characters on their own. The premise that having a Cub opens up a new world could easily be quite corny, but somehow it works here (so far).

Looking forward to more episodes.

Sublime Simplicity
eads11628 April 2021
To be honest, it has almost no actual plot. And that's just fine. It's just about one characters development and how a Super Cub helps & changes them. It's the closest the Seinfeld's "a show about nothing" that I've seen a slice of life anime get.

Crisp & detailed art. Beautiful sound design.

Simply a joy to watch and nearly impossible to describe to someone and make them eager to watch.

This one truly deserves season 2 !!!
dangiansh17 June 2021
I'm not going to give any spoiler of this series. However I can ensure that if you choose to watch super cub, then you may encounter some of the most realistic and admirable incidents of 2021 along with no special magic, re life, love story type zoners which are common in today's times.

Being sober, decent and inspiring in nature, this animation series gives you a number of reasons to watch it again and again. Thanks to others also that they understood the essence of super cub and gave it near to 8 star rating, which is quite satisfying but what it actually means is to give producers and writers a motive to continue the beautiful journey of three friends.

They say one must not be attached to materialistic world and its properties, but even a cold hearted person would admire the relationship of protagonist and super cub.

An example of how small things can bring a lot of happiness in your life and sometimes they even become the reason to meet the people whom you admire the most.

I would like to appreciate the team and urge them to consider making its second season !!!

I have just the one issue.

Warning: Spoilers
Shino. Who is he? Why does he sell her such a cheap Bike.

I have myself bought such a bike, that is to say one where the rider died. It was cheaper, but not that cheap.

Anyway. I loved this, except for the river rescue episode. What happened in this episode was pretty much what you should not do in this situation. I've been there too, lying in a river with a bike pinning me down. It was so cold. I'd hate to think whet would have happened had I not been in company. I was helped up, and we rode home within minutes to warmth. I can still remember how freezing cold it was. Within an hour, alone, I'd likely have been dead.

Other that that 10, because of that 7. Which is a shame. Because the rest of it is just wonderful.

Super Surreal

Warning: Spoilers
Had no idea what I was getting into when I watched this. Thought it was quite dragging at first and to me, seemed to be a long drawn out advert. Was about to switch to something else but it was like I was being hypnotized and just couldn't get my eyes off the TV screen. Visuals are superb and the simplicity of the storyline, so refreshing.

I found myself drawing up almost forgotten feelings of first getting something you're really passionate about and all the pleasant surprises that come with it.

The kicker for me was the twist where Koguma, referring to Shii said, "...The girl who made me meet with Cub, and the girl I met because of the Cub." That was so a subtle yet so masterful, made me smile and got my eyes to sweat a bit.

I agree with both the reviewer that said this needs a season 2 and the one that said they could make another season but they shouldn't. For me, we can leave those unanswered questions be and just blissfully enjoy the lighthearted gladness this little gem brings.
