The mother was spectacular

The woman who played the mother was so believable... I couldn't take my eyes off her. This woman can act! A story like this, even though it's true can play out really corny and overly sentimental. I found this woman to be just what I imagine an intelligent, broken hearted woman would be. The sadness in her face, the desperation... even as she played with her sons, or cleaned the sinks and floors at work.. the sadness never left her. Her tenacity at seeing the politician and convincing him to look further... that is inspirational. The intellect of the actress comes through in this story. Amazing. I imagine the child still seeks a relationship with the "mother" who stole her. I hope there is a follow-up on how the families are fairing; and that Luz did not take Pedro back... he wasn't much of a father to the two boys during their trying times. Amazing story!

Fascinating, thrilling, despite knowing outcome from media reports

I have to weigh in on this one because I completely agree with "annrfiesta." It didn't even matter that I'd heard most of the main details when the story broke in the news. It was still a tear-jerker, suspenseful, and absolutely thrilling. I especially enjoyed seeing A Martinez portraying such a stand-up guy--a politician yet!--who played such a vital role in the outcome of the story!

On the other hand, I don't know where "tumors" is coming from with his criticism of the bilingual characters. My experience with numerous Hispanic friends is that such a mix of language is quite common when families are trying to survive in one culture while also trying to preserve their native culture, of which language is a cornerstone. And the rolled "r"s is just a particular dialect that perhaps is not so familiar to the reviewer. Spanish is much like English in that there are numerous accents and dialects. So, "tumors" should give these people a break. I was delighted to hear a primarily English-language production that was not shy about depicting the minority element with such reality.

Overall, this is a movie I'll watch every chance I get! Wonderful!

ugh.

Decent entry into the movie-of-the-week genre. most surprising, though, was the number of wretched "Spanish" accents on display. At times it sounds like bad "speedy Gonzalez" outtakes, with overemphasized trilled Rs, Spanglish dialog that sounds like they threw in a Spanish word every three or four words to remind folks the characters are Latinas, and such. Most of the actors here can usually be relied upon to turn in good work, but it seems they were either working for the check or ultimately didn't much care. One would think with all the Spanish surnames involved, someone would've stepped up and said, "We sound ridiculous," but that doesn't appear to have happened.

Wow just wow

Very good movie if you are into true crime and love Lifetime movies like me. When I was in active addiction I went to prison, right before they county jail sent me we watched Little girl Lost to my surprise when I reached Cambridge Springs the lady who kidnapped the Lil baby was there checking our property in (as an inmate, inmates run the prisons pretty much) and I have to say talking to her she is very delusional I hope she leaves that girl alone she still calls her HER daughter and she couldn't wait to get out and see her and build their life together. The movie definitely wasn't like the real thing it never is but this one was pretty spot on.
