This short film is very educational but it's wrapped up around comedy to make it more appealing to a wider audience. Using a clever script, the world's main religions are given a quick overview in this rather ecumenical film.
Andy is on a date. When the topic of religion comes up, he says that there is no god--just death. Well, his date is religious and she decides he's NOT the man for her. On the way home, he walks in front of a moving vehicle and is killed....somewhat. In fact, he ends up in a purgatory of sorts and is told he must pick a religion for himself or else. Then, he's given time with spiritual leaders who try to explain what they're all about, though self-absorbed Andy isn't keep on listening. Will Andy make a choice and be sent back to Earth or will he finally take that everlasting "dirt nap" he talked about in the beginning of the film? Aside from a seemingly pointless and overlong dance sequence, the film is a very clever way to explain religions to the novice--such as high school students. While not even close to being thorough, it is a nifty, interesting and well made film.
