Nice story and will appeal as a family film for some

I was attracted to the story-line as someone who has helped kids who are in difficult situations. It is very amateur but gets the point across. Overall, it has a good pace and shows both the family and the orphan from both sides in a moderate, easy-to-understand presentation for younger viewers. It is a film with Christian inserts but doesn't shove it down your throat. It's really more about the good heart at the center of being human. I think this will appeal to anyone who wants their kids to be presented with values based on not judging others and embracing differences, as well as to children who may be experiencing a change in their living situation. Parents will appreciate the straightforward approach to morality. It is a bit too basic to be considered entertaining to adults without children in the room, I think. The actors are obviously not that experienced but everyone starts somewhere.

This movie is not going to win any Oscars, but after watching it, I realized that it reminded me of movies from 20 - 30 years back: no swearing, no gratuitous violence and no socio-political innuendos. How refreshing!

It portrays an average family with the normal amount of parent-children joys and tribulations. Nobody's perfect, but at the end of the day we are spared the negativity and cynicism that is so pervasive of most current tv productions.

The actors were all completely new to me, which is fine, since the acting was for the most part good. The characters were also mostly likeable and even charming.

The script is formulaic and at times predictable and contains quite a few rather unconvincing twists and turns, but to me they were forgivable. This is after all relaxed, mindless - and above all - feel-good entertainment for the whole family.

To me the whole point of watching movies is to be entertained and in this respect Found succeeded admirably.

Good story but bad acting

Although often predictable, the story was interesting. Some of the actors were fine but others needed some acting lessons. Most of the characters are likable, especially the main character, Finch. It is fun to see him react to technology new to him.

It is a good, clean film with slight religious overtones. Rarely is the Protestant faith represented on television unless the characters are nutcases. Found has the religion without being overbearing or with characters being obsessed.

Altgough not essential viewing, it is definitely worth the time to watch this movie. I am glad that I found Found.

This time it's a yes!

Yes! What a wonderful movie the entire family can watch! The acting is not at all over-the-top Hollywoodian, it's life-like. There's no swearing and no sensual/sexual content but there are nuggets of faith here and there. I enjoyed the lead character's growth process but equally important were his moments of difficulty and the struggles the other characters faced in their family life. I'm not going to lie -you may cry while watching this flick. I did but to me that's a mark of a good story presented in a beautifully real way. Watch it. You won't regret it!

Good story, awfully execution

It was good, very good, good of the story not the film. I really like the story. But the problem is, this film is too flat to deliver it. This need to be more on Flinch journey rather than confused gray timeline. This could be powerful, the actors was great (the acting could be improve), but instead the director or whoever direct this, make it so flat and too generic. I like the poster more than the film, I could imagine the film in my head better than this. This film should be the journey of Flinch. I like kind of that story. God I was so mad, the story was so good but somehow awfully execution and I called it so unjustice. My 7 rating for this film is for the story and flinch, not the film. If there's a petition, I will sign it first, fast. Come one!

Horrible acting

I have to say I've seen a lot of bad acting in a lot of films but this one ranks close to number one.

Where did they dig up these horrible excuses for actors?

Just to make it worse all the kids in the movie look like aliens.

Had to turn it off 20 minutes in. It was such a joke.

Fun movie with Christian values, safe for the whole fam.

I've seen a fair amount of Christian movies. And most of them try to shove the point down your throat. That's one of the things I really appreciated about Found. The story was honest, forth coming with out any agenda pushing, and I loved how much fun the actors obviously had making it. Can't wait to see what this company does next.

Worse acting I've seen in years

I had to stop at 28 mins, was painfully awful, bad acting, had potential but failed. Why does he have pale makeup on like in a Tim burton film.

This is a pretty good movie but the story line really gets my temper up. You have a young man living alone in the mountains. He is self proficient, capable, and very happy where he is. But the "government" will not let him be. He is detained and "placed in care".

Almost a comedy...

Although the story is interesting and the message is well intended and instructive for families with young children, this film suffers from very poor acting. The dialogue was so robotic that the cast might as well have been holding their scripts in their hands as they spoke. It was almost comedic at times, similar to the old Ozzie & Harriet TV episodes. And the mountain boy's accent (or speech defect?) was annoying.

Best family crying movie

I really enjoyed every second of this movie. Because of background story as such, acting was accordance to that . Those who missed what I saw, watch again to it's entirety, to understand and not wanting best acting. This movie is not about acting, good, bad, poor, whatever...its about the story of a boy raised in the mountains, fresh air, animals, with God in his heart, living with what only he knows, different values than society, and very accepting of what God is providing. Having heartful memories and to share with a family of need to realize the natural experiences from someone not raised in society is an eye opener to them and to everyone who understands this movie. I was fully into rhis movie, so moved of the boys reactions. I want this movie for my collection and for a few of my friends as gifts. I know they will agree with me. If anyone knows where I can get 10 dvds please email me or reply here. Please!!!!!

Must watch for comparison

If you are new to the movie world, I highly recommend you to watch this. After watching this, you will have an idea what acting is. This one is a good reference for poor acting. Acting is not for everyone. Story itself wasn't too bad even bit old fashion.

A Lovely Real Movie With Family Values - The academy is brain dead and spiritually void

Anyone with a heart, soul, love and family values will love and appreciate this touching move. The robotic soulless mind controlled can not see its beauty.

The message, theme and value is rarely seen.

The simplicity in the acting was reflective of the simple Virginia mountain people. Acting is well cast and appropriate.

A must watch.

The acting leaves a lot to be desired, if you can get past that it's not the absolute worst way to spend a nearly 2 hours. Think your average weekday midday movie.

I stumbled upon this film while browsing ScareTV. Surprisingly, it lacked any scare factor. Nonetheless, it had an impressive storyline that evoked memories of the after-school movies from my youth.

The Pros:

• The movie had a heartwarming plot with valuable moral lessons sprinkled throughout.

• It was clean and suitable for ages 8 and above. If needed, you could pause and explain certain parts to a younger audience.

• Finch's exploration of a new way of life was delightful and occasionally amusing.

The Cons:

• The acting wasn't terrible, but it could have used some improvement. The young actor who played Finch and the foster mom did a commendable job, while the other family members' performances were passable. However, the portrayal of the lawyer, judge, and other law enforcement characters was excessively exaggerated and occasionally cringe-inducing.

• The story could have delved deeper into Finch's journey, providing more insight into how he ended up with the Whitakers and showcasing some scenes of his upbringing. This would have added more substance to the overall narrative.

I wholeheartedly suggest this film to anyone in search of a captivating narrative free from the usual content that earns movies PG-13 and above rating. Even as an individual who occasionally indulges in colorful language, I discovered it to be invigorating. Furthermore, it lacked any eccentric camera angles that could divert attention from the immersive viewing experience. There were no jarring noises, perplexing transitions, showy stunts, or flashy distractions to detract from the story. It was devoid of unnecessary fillers, allowing the plot to shine.

Decent story in the beginning then it goes downhill

I came to IMDB to see if this was a wretched Kirk Cameron abomination because it is disgustingly sick with religious overtones and the acting is as bad as Fireproof.

This one started out with a much better storyline but quickly fell as flat as the acting.

This could have been parallel to a Kyle-XY type story but they ruined it with making it all about religion.

Really sad, they should label the movie as such so people don't waste time.
