The class go on a field trip to 1864... sort of!

Warning: Spoilers
This episode sees Mr Garrison's class visit Frontierland; a living museum where they can learn what life was like for the earlier settlers of 1864. Before entering the park everybody must pair up and they are told they must keep holding hands until they get back on the bus to go home. Nobody wants to be partnered with Cartman and he is eventually forced to go with Butters... who won't let go of his hand for any reason. While most of the class get told about frontier life by the annoying volunteers who won't break character Cartman drags Butters off to the indoor play park next door. If this wasn't enough Frontierland is overrun by escaped criminals who are desperate to find a way of evading the police... there is a mineshaft they could use but the volunteers refuse to break character and tell them the combination for its lock... even when the criminals start shooting them!.

This was a rather fun episode; the way the criminals took over Frontierland nicely parodied films like 'Die Hard' and when we learn just what they had stolen it became even funnier. The volunteers were a bit annoying but that just served to make it amusing when they started getting shot. Cartman and Butter's story was distinctly a sup-plot but it was still amusing; who'd have guessed that Butters could have held on to Cartman's hand so tightly?

Super Fun Time is the final episode of the first half of Season 12.I found it to be a very good episode with some very funny and entertaining moments. The students go to an 1860's pioneer life re-enactment place as a field trip.Everybody has to pair up with a partner and Cartman is forced to go with Butters, who will not let go of his hand under any circumstances.Cartman decides the place is boring and wants to sneak to the Super Fun Time arcade across the street, he drags Butters and the sneak out.Meanwhile, terrorists who robbed a Burger King come in and hold everybody hostage. They have to find a way to sneak out with all their money and food! However the workers are not cooperating because they are so dedicated to their job that they will not break character! They all pretend to be Pioneer's from the 1800's and this angers them.Super Fun Time is a very entertaining and fun South park episode with some great moments! Plenty of people say Season 12 was a disappointment. While it could have been better, there were plenty of great episodes!

Almost like an unfinished thought.

This is a funny episode, and it was up to par with other episodes of the season, but it was just a strange set up. The main plot seems like it would be about Cartman and Butters sneaking away from their classmates, but it's actually just a small sub-plot. The actual plot just seemed really random...let's have the kids...get captured in an 1860s reenactment center. It's like Trey and Matt just took random ideas and mushed them together.

Mr. Garrison takes his class to an 1860s reenactment center. All the kids need to have a partner, and Cartman ends up stuck with Butters. After seeing an indoor theme park next door, Cartman and Butters sneak off. Meanwhile terrorists take over the 1860s area and take the kids hostage. To appeal to the old fans, Trey and Matt used a few old techniques of the show. Stan and Wendy are back together, and Kenny has a slightly larger role than in most episodes (which doesn't say much). The very small Kenny sub-plot seemed really pointless, as it seemed to affect the plot in no way and was just thrown in to make old school fans disappointed Kenny wasn't offed again. The Cartman-Butters plot was especially weird because it had literally no humor to it, and they could've easily just left because they were bored and went no where, and it would've been just as funny. However, even though this episode goes every which way, it's still funny, and good enough to be the Spring season finale.

My rating: *** out of ****. 30 mins. TVMA
