Zoro is a legendary character, not only in One Piece but in other anime and manga franchises as well. The daunting swordsman is often the butt of jokes due to his inability to figure out directions. However, that has not stopped him from appearing in other famous works.
Franchises like Haikyu!!, Kagurabachi and more have included Zoro references in their plot, proving that other mangakas are nerds for Eiichiro Oda’s work. But make sure this doesn’t reach the ears of Sanji fans, or the rivalry between the characters might just prove fatal.

Here are three pieces of breaking Rick and Morty news.
First, the Emmy-winning series will return for its eighth season sometime in 2025, ending the show’s recent streak of having new episodes annually (the show’s seventh season had its finale in December). The reason for the push: Last year’s five-month Writers Guild strike delayed production on the new episodes.
But starting today, the show’s seventh season is now on Max, which means all that Rick and Morty episodes are now on the streamer.
Also, the debut season of spin-off Rick and Morty: The Anime will premiere this year, and Adult Swim has just released the first in-show footage (below) from the project:
Rick and Morty: The Anime is from director Takashi Sano (Tower of God) who previously directed two acclaimed anime shorts in the Rick and Morty universe: “Rick and Morty vs. Genocider” and “Summer Meets God...

The forces of tyranny can come in many different forms across many different genres. Sometimes it’s a corrupt government ruling over a strange tower, known by name by those who strive for advancement and favor. Sometimes it’s a cruel government that monitors every waking moment of its citizens, the purpose of its rules hidden and unknown. And sometimes it’s the very gods themselves.

In a time of reboots, remakes and sequels, Wattpad Webtoon is aiming to bring more original stories to Hollywood and counter that franchise bloat. As Wattpad Webtoon Studios president Aron Levitz tells Variety, the goal is to show production banners and media platforms that loyal webcomic and series fans will tune in to their TV adaptations of those titles. “One day, you will receive a message from an unknown sender. The message will only include your name, the fact that you are going to hell, and the time you have left to live. There is nowhere to run, nowhere to hide—no escape. When the time counts down to zero, supernatural beings manifest to condemn you to hell. As the nation falls into unrest, a new religious sect begins to interpret the bizarre occurrence as the will of the divine. Could this be a sign of something grander—a blessing in disguise, a holy reckoning, or an evil curse? Amid social chaos and increasing hysteria, the people must find a way to survive this inexplicable terror.” (Dark Horse Comics)

It’s been amazing to witness the growth of the anime industry in America. It used to be extremely difficult to find anime in the country and even then, it was a very select handful of programs that were only available with questionable dubs. Over the course of a few decades this niche genre of animation hasn’t just become a mainstream obsession, but it’s now actively sought by streaming services. Anime’s popularity in America has reached a point where there are now multiple streaming services that offer ways to consume this content. There’s no need to get unnecessarily overwhelmed with all of these options for where to get anime. Here’s a helpful breakdown of not just the anime-exclusive streamers, but also the services that you may already have that are full of satisfying anime content.

Crunchyroll’s success is a direct result of the company’s culture and commitment to their fans,” said Tony Goncalves, Chief Revenue Officer, WarnerMedia. “By combining with Funimation, they will continue to nurture a global community and bring more anime to more people. I’m incredibly proud of the Crunchyroll team and what they have been able to accomplish in the digital media space in such a short period of time. Everybody has heard of Netflix and Amazon Prime, but if you are looking to watch something a little bit different or want to watch content from other countries, you may find that subscribing to some of the more niche international online streaming services may give you more of the content you are most interested in.
Often, for people who want to watch a particular type of international content such as Korean dramas, Bollywood movies, British comedy, or anime, the choices available on US services like Hulu and US Netflix can be very limited. While it is possible to watch shows from other countries using Vpn services, it can also be a real boon to find a specialist streaming service that has lots of the content you most like to watch, ready to go, subtitled in the language you want.

Fans of Rick and Morty have gotten used to being neglected. Whenever a season wraps up, we assume we won’t be getting more sci-fi rigamarole adventures for at least a year. Well, color me surprised, because it’s been less than two months since the season four finale and Adult Swim has already blessed us with a peek at an animatic for a scene from season five and now they’ve followed it up with an 8-minute short that reimagines Rick and Morty as an anime.
It’s written and directed by Takashi Sano who most recently directed the TV adaptation of the Korean web comic Tower of God, which, to be honest, I know nothing about. However, Sano’s got a storied career of storyboarding and key animation on cool stuff I have heard of like Megalobox,as well as a little cult hit called Neon Genesis Evangelion.

But unlike the otherworldly Tower of God, The God of High School is a much more recognizable twist […]
