Luci
- Luci: Barney, do you think it's going to keep raining for a really long time?
- Barney: Oh, I don't think so. Rain is just a kind of weather, and no weather lasts very long on Four Seasons Day.
- Michael: It doesn't?
- Barney: Nope. In fact, I think this rain should be ending just about now!
- [the rain stops]
- Barney: [chuckles] Yep! Right on schedule!
- Min: Wow! Look, the rain really *did* stop. All the clouds are gone.
- Michael: And the sky's so blue, it looks like it'll never rain again!
- Barney: Oh, it'll rain again someday, and it's a very good thing too. We *need* rain.
- Luci: That's right. All the growing trees and flowers need rain.
- Michael: And the animals that live outdoors need rainwater to drink.
- Barney: Besides, if it never *ever* rained again...
- Luci, Michael, Shawn, Min: [leaning toward Barney] *Yeah?*
- Barney: We'd have a really hard time *getting clean!*
- Luci: Whew! It's really getting hot out here, Barney.
- Barney: [chuckles] Of course it is. It wouldn't be Four Seasons Day if we didn't have nice hot *summer* weather for a while.
- Shawn: Summer is the season I like the best. I love playing out in the sun.
- Luci: Me too. But you know, too much sun can give us a sunburn.
- Barney: Ooh.
- Min: That can really hurt.
- [everyone agrees]
- Barney: Okay, the first part of Four Seasons Day is *spring*. Let's all take a big breath of this good spring air.
- [takes a big breath in and lets it out, then chuckles]
- Barney: Oh, that's nice.
- Michael: And other nice things happen in spring, too. The trees and plants start to grow again after the winter's cold.
- Min: That's right. Everything outside turns green.
- Luci: And birds make their nests in trees, and there are baby birds who sing for their supper.
- Barney: Oh. What else happens in spring?
- Min: We can play outside without our heavy coats.
- Shawn: And sometimes in the spring...
- [begins to rain]
- Shawn: ... it rains!
- Barney: Oh!
- Luci: Hey, it really is raining.
- Michael: We're going to get wet!
- Barney: Well, we already know that it gets just a little bit colder in the fall, but what other things happen?
- Luci: Well, in the fall, we start a new year of school with new teachers and new things to learn.
- Barney: Oh boy.
- Michael: And birds fly someplace warm before the winter comes.
- Barney: Oh, that's right.
- Shawn: And the leaves on the trees turn into lots of colors.
- Min: And then, the leaves fall down.
- [Barney chuckles]
- Barney: Oh boy! We've had spring, summer, fall, and now winter. See? Four Seasons Day *had* all four seasons!
- Luci: And winter is my favorite. It's so beautiful.
- Michael: And it's really cold.
- Barney, Luci, Michael, Shawn, Min: Brr!
- Barney: You know, it gets so cold in the winter, that water turns to slippery, slidy ice.
