The animation is really tasty & top notch, characters are loveable & the story is very intriguing would very much like a continued series if the manga gets more content.

Enjoyable Anime
bobjrocks2 October 2020
I will admit I am not the biggest fan of Bleach. I never have kept up with the series so I was unsure when I was watching this how lost I would be. My worries were swept away once I started watching it because this has nothing to do with the Bleach universe. I have to admit you should probably read the manha first before you engage with this anime because you will be kind of lost if you don't Back to the point, I enjoyed Burn the Witch because although the story is not deep and intriguing like I would want it to, it's still an good anime. The reasons that the anime worked for me were the dramatic moments of the show did a good job in telling a story, character development wasn't the best but it did its job in the end, the art style during the whole show is absolutely beautiful, and the comedy/funny moments are on point. A final thing is that if you are looking at this anime hoping for anything from Bleach then I suggest you don't watch it because you will be disappointed and you won't like it as a spinoff. Other than that I would recommend it just so you can listen to the ending theme because it really is a good listen from NiL.

Burn the witch

Noel Niihashi and Ninny Spangcole are witch and protection agents for Wing Bind an organization for dragon conservation and management. Their mission is to protect and manage the dragons within London on behalf of the people.

I thought this was a really good spin off series which is set in the same universe as bleach. The characters are refreshing, the story is refreshing and it was just top notch.

As this is only a spin off I don't think you need to watch bleach to under although I am not sure when does it take place in series.

Still though I would recommend checking this out even if you aren't into bleach.

Fun three part anime set in an alternate London
Tweekums19 October 2020
As this three part anime series opens we are told that most disappearances in London are due to dragons. Most of the inhabitants can't see them though. There is also a second City of London; Reverse London. Here people are aware of the dragons and they are controlled by 'Wing Bind'. Protagonists Noel Niihashi and Ninny Spangcole are two witches who work for Wing Bind to protect the city.

I enjoyed this short series; it is just a pity it didn't have more episodes. The setting is good and the characters are fun to watch. The scenes of them battling against dragons were suitably exciting without being too scary for older children. The plot is simple enough but effective. The character designs aren't as polished as those in most series made these days but they had a distinctive look that I liked. The backgrounds looked impressive. Overall I'd recommend this to anime fans... if you don't enjoy it you won't waste much time.

These comments are based on watching the series in Japanese with English subtitles.

If only it had a better conclusion
jaysshukla20 September 2021
Finally, we see another anime adaptation of a Tite Kubo's manga. We again get to hear some stylish terms like 'imprisoned for 100 years'. Interesingly, the theme felt closer to Harry Potter or Black Clover than to Bleach. But yes, some of the elements would surely remind you of Bleach.

For a spin-off, the storyline looked interesting but the ending didn't feel satisfying. Cinderella and Macy deserved to have more interaction in the end. If only, the main characters, especially Ninny, were shown less pessimist. It ended up looking like a literary work from the Baroque time period. Even the Balgo's sword had no significance at all in the end. Noel's character design reminded me of Orihime's. Nevertheless, her personality was entirely different and felt even more-likeable. Midway, I started expecting some Yuri as well. But well, it never really surfaced.

Overall, it wasn't a bad watch. If only the things were resolved in a more appropriate way. Nevertheless, you can still enjoy it and have a good weekend.

Depthless

Burn the Witch is an enjoyable movie, albeit without depth by any means. Visually rich, but falls short when you factor in the story. Nothing more than your average shonen anime.

Amazing and very entertaining
ryan-skeen26 October 2020
I wasn't expecting anything coming into this show, and I have to say I am blown away. The premise of the show is done extremely well, and left so much room not only to grow but there could easily be several seasons if they wanted to. The characters are great each one clearly had been spend a lot of time on, the story was engaging (don't want to spoil), and the animation was top notch, seriously it was done so well. I highly recommend this show because it is very entertaining and I hope we get to see more from this amazing universe so support it!

Lots of potential!
superginger7 October 2020
Here in America, this 1 hour movie was split into 3 episodes. The first episode was mostly setup from the one-shot and a continuation of it too (which was awesome to see!!). Things finally started happening in episodes 2 and 3 but the plot was a bit lame and the climax was not all that fun. The two leads are excellent characters and side characters will definitely get more character development later on. Although not much happened here, I have a feeling that this has the potential to be something great. Considering Tite Kubo made it, there's no doubt part 2 of the manga and the anime adaption to come will be great.

Yesss!!

Finally more female anime, I have been looking for more badass female protagonists and fighting scenes. I also love the animation drawing it's self. I hope this can become a show. I really did enjoy Bleach, was pretty sad it was canceled.

fun but not strong
DDfalcoo19 January 2024
Burn the witch has a creative story-line and funny characters to watch, but i'm afraid to tell you that this show does not have any unique element. I mean the story is good, actions and actors are perfect enough and animation is enjoyable, but you will forget the whole anime exactly after the day you watch it. But i have to confess that i had a good hour with this show. So, watch it if you like female heroes, dragons and action moments. It was the first animated series i saw from the anime world and it did really inspire me to watch more anime's like this. It was funny and i like to see more .
