The premise is what got me and the main actors kept me in it.
Yes the beginning is a bit awful with the first victim's acting and the "Doctor's" monologue not really making sense. Once you get past the first 5 minutes it does get better.
The sibling chemistry between the main characters works well, especially the older brother's acting. Plus the step dad is a reasonable actor himself, though he's barely in it.
The rest gets rather cliche but the twists were fun and made it worthwhile.
Not your average slasher for sure, but definitely one all cult film enthusiasts will enjoy.

I liked the whole idea, and the acting is not too bad either.
Story is kinda original.
Only thing is, it could have been shorter.
Nevertheless, when there is no better thriller/horror around, this overall is not a bad watch.

Honestly, it wasn't that bad. Was it cheesy? Yes. Did you care little about the characters? Yes. Did it keep you entertained? Yes. Then the last 25-30 minutes happened. Honestly, the movie should've stopped when the brother reunited with the step father. They could've found the sister, and been done. I would've given that a 6 star rating. But instead, they dragged it on. And for what? Sure, the host was turned into a scarecrow, but all the other patrons and participants got away. The brother should've died from all the exposure of his turn open leg, especially after falling into the outhouse hole. The sister should be paralysed having her spine stabbed. And the emo boy: what was his purpose? He mentions "not again" yet there is no explanation as to what he's talking about. Those last minutes I mentioned were just tacked on and ruined the rest of the ok story.

I love bad horror movies. Seriously, B horror movies are my favorite genre of movie, but this was just atrocious. If you told me it was the product of a mentally challenged 9 year olds fever dream; I'd believe you.
First lets get all the bad horror B movie stereotypes out of the way. The acting is horrible. I mean wooden, dry, lifeless. The main bad guy isnt too bad, over the top, but fine for a B movie. The directing is ridiculously bad for 2021. He doesnt know how to shoot night scenes so half the time you can tell its daylight...why not just set the scenes in the day then? The dialogue is horrible, but all this can be excused in a B horror movie.
The inexcusable. The plots a nightmare. The story centers on 2 teens on a road trip with their black stepdad when their car breaks down. Where were they headed? I dont know. Why is the stepdad black? I dont know, he is, it never comes up. I think that would come up. Im not saying its wrong, but probably would be weird that your dad dies and less than a year later your moms married to a black guy who claims to be a corn salesman? Theres some confusion in the car about how the mom met the black guy...its dropped and not brought up. We also learn the girl wants to be a doctor...never comes back up again, I think the writer forgot.
The two teens get deserted by their step dad as he goes in search of a new tire or something. Hes literally gone for 2 entire days...so during that time they befriend a kid who is a squatter in a nearby farmhouse. They instantly run into the local sheriff and instead of telling him, "Hey, our dads been gone for hours, our car broke down, can you help", they tell some lie for literally no reason. All this is to set up the plot where they fall in with some local teens and start partying with them. I get it, youre the writer, you got to get these two outsiders in with the local teens...but this is insanity.
Night one with the local teens they both black out and wind back up at the farm house. The girl awakes undressed in the squatters bed. Neither of the two teens know what happened. Dont worry...this will never be addressed again, ever in the movie. The teens then find out that the local squatter is good friends with the sheriff and the sheriffs bullying of him is a ruse or something. Again, while this doesnt make sense...dont worry, itll never be addressed again so dont think too much about it.
Then night 2 of partying, they get to a haunted hay ride and get off of it to enter a party in a farm house. Turns out the party is for some human taxidermiests. 1 hour of the most nonsensical, insane nonsense occurs. Highlights are thing such as black dad re-appearing out of nowhere in the middle of a corn field with a gun to help the male teen find the girl. Black dad then kills one of the guards and then enters the house...where he reveals hes been in on this the whole time. But like...whyd he kill a guard? Why did he fake the flat tire? Why not just drive them to the farm house? What was the point of any of this?
Movies so utterly frustrating in plot that you cant even laugh at the usual B movie tropes of moronic leads running into trouble over and over, bad acting, bad special effects etc...its a hard pass.

With a title like 'C. O. R. N: A Field of Screams' it's as stupid as a sketch from Wonder Showzen but not actually a comedy or parody of anything except itself.
Even the meaning 'Collective Order of Recreational Necro philanthropists' is literally the most unrealistic acronym to set up a horror film, a B Grade comedy maybe but hardly believable to set up a horror film. I doubt a group of human taxidermists would even be concerned with having any formal identity.
No spoilers here, the direction and acting is a massive pile of steaming feces. Amazon Prime are flooding their service with crap like this and it's a bubble that has to burst soon, they earnt the worst reputation among streaming services by investing in D grade garbage across all genres.

Story is all over the place. Horrible acting and effects. I tried to stop it but kept thinking it might get better. Nope only worse. I'm trying to be nice and think of one good quality.... Umm ... the closing credits.

This could have been a decent movie, but i's way too all over the place.
Day becomes night in like 2 seconds. There are rave parties in the middle of no where.
Maybe this was intentional so you didnt know what was what, but it really brings the film down and makes for a tedious watch.
Need some pizazz to spice it up.

What Was That? Well we're off to a good start!! Haha.
This movie is about a doctor and a group of his friends and minions that like to turn people into scarecrows. Meaning, they kill them and put them in the cornfield. Been there done that, quite a few times. As usual the villains spend way too much time talking and not enough time doing.
It's really quite stupid. There's some decent gore. But really, this was bad. 2/10.

I wanted to see this movie because of Kennedy Tucker, who i think is a decent actress and a very beautiful Woman. She will gett a decent movie career, she just needs to stay away from this kind of D - MOVIES. Do not even waist your time this, it's that awful, from A to Z.

Broken down in the Midwest on the eve of Halloween, a brother & sister (Mateus Ward and Kennedy Tucker) meet a Goth-ish local guy (Dylan Riley Snyder) and party at a corn maze. Unfortunately a strange meeting of eccentrics nearby need bodies for their 'art.' Roger Cross plays the stepdad while Robert Donavan is on hand as the leader of the kooks.
"C. O. R. N." (2021), sometimes subtitled "A Field of Screams," is Grade B horror that meshes films like "Freddy vs. Jason" (2003), "Scarecrows" (2017) and "Shadows of the Dead" (2016). With a budget of $950,000, it lacks the production quality of "Freddy vs. Jason," but it's almost on par with "Scarecrows" and superior to the prosaic "Shadows of the Dead."
There's a freestyle manner to the filming/editing, which makes the first 30 minutes iffy in a meandering way. If you can acclimate, however, there are enough highlights to make "C. O. R. N." worthwhile for those who appreciate Indy horror and are in the mode for a flick with lots of Halloween-ish ambiance. The tone is serious, but there's some Vincent Price-like camp with the cult artists, especially Donavan.
Petite beauty Kennedy Tucker as protagonist Tia is worth the price of admission. The commendable female cast also includes the likes of Audra Schildhouse, Meitar Paz and Elise Spicer, amidst peripherals. The writer/director (Robin Christian) thankfully knows how to shoot women, no pun intended.

Worth spending your time on a lazy Sunday afternoon. C'mon, this is not the Omen or anything like that. I didn't watch C. O. R. N expecting a classic. But it's goofy and keeps you entertained, that's if you are a sucker for road trip horror with fields and lamp-posts.
i stand firmly beside my rating ...and my corn i guess lol

HEY EVERYBODY ITS ME (4) and today we review , return of the revenge of the scarecrows children of the corn field 18 ....the movie !!!!!
It seems everytime i turn around there is a new scarecrow/corn field/ something to do with those two movie going on ....and its a 50/50 if its good or not ..... in this case ...yea i can deal with it ....
here we have a movie about some "teens?" with a step dad going through a out of the way area in the middle of nowhere u.s.a. When uh oh "flat tire " city happens ...then uh oh .... party city for the teens while step dad disappears to find help ....so ...the film is okay but the story is .....rough at times ....for instance ... 2 days of the dad being gone and the young adults are so concerned that they are just parting the entire time .... and the fact that random teens from the near by town accept the new people into their party crew like no big deal is unrealistic as it gets ... like suddenly welcome to our party cult ...lol... no suspicions of them being undercover .... or where they came from ...just "hey randos come crash our party, then be invited to come part y the next day at the swimming hole too ...THEN that next night also ....... like ... wow .... these kids literally party ALL THE TIME .....no home lives ......no eating ...just drink and screw and drugs and do it again the next day ..........oh movie logic lol
other than THAT plot oddness .... they did do a decent job with there red herrings for this one .... keeping you guessing "whos who" on the bad guys team .... you DO have the obvious happen ... BUT they did surprise you too ....
the MAIN story was cool having it be about artists etc and all that , so good job there ........over all ... it had some good moments it could have been cut down to be a little over an hour though NOT 1:42 good lawd ..... it was like sitting through syrup ..... SLOW .....half the party crap could have been left on the editing floor .... i mean WE GOT IT ...THEY LOVE TO PARTY !!!!!!! The half @$$ love story arch ?? Not needed for the brother thing ...it went no where AT ALL ....so easy cuts there for time ..... and that would have left the film with a much more "exciting" pacing .... more to the point and just ROAR !!! Vibe to it instead of a bit of back and forth , to the house and back to party ,,..and back to the house and back to a party ... and ........
characters were good enough .... the "daughter" was ............ugh ........acting throughout was fine until her ....sorry kid but they should have casted someone else for the part ...maybe even a card board cut out could have done better .........watching her act was like watching my grandma try to eat soup with a fork .... IT DIDNT WORK !!!!!!!!!!! At all ... every one else did a pretty good job ..... i liked the doctor dude ...otis looked like an otis ...lol.... but that "little" girl .... jesus ..... just ...i mean ..... you do know you have a face right ? .... and it has the ability to move ? Generally all humans come with the "expressions" mode .... you just click that on and BAM acting ......

so anyways WAS the film entertaining ? ...
