  Chrissy Beppo : Lois, people are calling here non-stop, freaking out, all with bits and pieces of information, mostly gossip. They're desperate for answers, and I feel a lot better giving it to them if we had some kind of verification from the DOD.

  Lois Lane : [seeing her look]  I'll reach out to him right now.

• Chrissy Beppo : No comment? They always give a comment.

  Lois Lane : Yeah, I don't know what to say.

  Chrissy Beppo : Well, is it because we're a small paper? You always got a statement when you were at the Planet.

  Lois Lane : Chrissy, we don't need the DOD or my dad. We can do more interviews and write what we want.

  Chrissy Beppo : It just doesn't make any sense. Is this story different somehow?

  Lois Lane : Not that I know of.

  Chrissy Beppo : Lois, what is he hiding?

  Lois Lane : I don't know, Chrissy.

  Chrissy Beppo : Are you lying right now?

  Lois Lane : No.

  Chrissy Beppo : You're totally lying.

  Lois Lane : Chrissy, it's not what you think.

  Chrissy Beppo : Lois Lane is protecting the DOD. You're supposed to be on the side of the people, not the man. I thought we were in this together.

  Lois Lane : Chrissy...

  Chrissy Beppo : Lois, if you can't tell me the truth, then maybe you should leave.

• Chrissy Beppo : Wasn't expecting to see you.

  Lois Lane : I owe you an apology.

  Chrissy Beppo : Kinda busy, Lois.

  Lois Lane : You were right. I lied. My dad is hiding something, and I can't betray his trust.

  Chrissy Beppo : This story is bigger than you or your dad. We have a responsibility to the people. This town is falling apart.

  Lois Lane : Believe me, I know. People are tearing each other down, looking for someone to blame, and if we do nothing, we are as responsible for its downfall as anyone else.

  Chrissy Beppo : If only there was something we could do.

  Lois Lane : I can't write this story. I'm too close to it to be objective... but you can.

  Chrissy Beppo : [taking a folder]  It's a statement... from your dad.

  Lois Lane : He wouldn't go on the record about everything, but this is enough to tell most of the story and to focus the blame where it belongs: on Morgan Edge.

  Chrissy Beppo : This was really messed up, Lois.

  Lois Lane : I know. I hope that I can earn back your trust.
