I have not written anything about the plot in my review of the first episode n i want to continue this trend. People should not read any synopsis about this show. This episode picks up the pace n holds ur attention. The background story of the killer is terrifying n the show gets engrossing. I still can't believe that this show is from India.

New anti-Hindu, anti-Brahmin show
discerninguser8 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Currently, there have been a spurt of anti-Hindu web series shows - portraying religious Hindus as terrorists, psychopaths etc, their driving force and inspiration being, their passion for their religion.

We have had Sacred Games, Leila, Ghoul etc. portraying Hindus and especially Brahmins as evil conspirators. Now Asur is the latest addition, in the same vein.

A Brahmin child prodigy grows up, to become a remorseless serial killer and plays a cat-and-mouse game with CBI. Needless to say, he justifies his actions using a mix of religious Hindu philosophy, chants Sanskrit mantras and all his evil deeds have Hindu symbolism.

The show tries hard to be smart and pack in some twists. However, after watching 2 episodes, I could predict EXACTLY what is gonna happen in the next episodes. Predictable and trite.

The makers of this show have been "inspired" by Hollywood crime thrillers such as Se7en and try to ape those movies, with a desi twist; but fail miserably.

The lead protagonist Barun Sobti needs acting lessons urgently as do the two leading ladies (the actors who play his wife and ex). Arshad Warsi is uninspired and hardly makes an effort. The sidekick Lolark basically plays exactly the same character he did in "The Family Man" but with a different name.

The only character that I liked in this series was that of the computer technician. The boy who played that role nailed it.
