If all would be the best as possible
Hombredelfuturo2 March 2021
Could be a good movie but is a bland one. Only near the end; you can find some potential; but is just that. The acting is very poor and the situations expected. In the end, is a Love story; as you know, Love is a one way ticket.

-Yes; there is not so much to comment about. If you have a bit of time to watch a light movie with "Idealism" as a subplot; this is what you are looking for,

Not Good Enough
PennyReviews11 November 2022
Japanese Movie " Blue, Painful, and Brittle " is a melodrama with a dark twist.

The movie tends to have a psychological aspect to it, with the two main characters acting out and colliding. And true, the way the movie handled the back and forth at the begining, making things intriguing and thrilling with the mystery behind what happened in the past.

However, things got out of hand. Things were rushed in the end and the characters had to have a character development in just a few scenes. The pace was, in addition, all over the place.

Finally, the performances were great by all the actors and actresses of the cast, and, especially, the leads.

So, overall, four out of ten.

Damn it!

Warning: Spoilers
Frankly, I love it! The plot, the acting, the story, the twists, everything except the ending. It really offers wisdom on life and for some reason even if I disagree with some of the main character's decisions, I find myself realizing I would do the same things given the circumstance he was in. The ending fell short. I was wanting to see what happened to their club and both the guy and the girl's relationship after all that happened. I felt like it was going somewhere to finally close off the story but it left me hanging which lets a part of me wanting a sequel because it was that good!! I would recommend anyone to watch this, even children. I do not regret watching this film and would watch this repeatedly. If any of the film crew or actors notice this, I wish they would let me settle with a closure through a release of a sequel.

Bad communication
nomisueil13 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
At the end of the day everything in this story could have been fixed had there just been better communication. The guy liked the girl and though she could read his mind the whole time. When she doesn't reciprocate the feeling he gets butthurt and angry that she's not giving him the time of the day and actually cares more about her club stuff than him.

There's one scene near the end of the movie that's pretty telling of the entire relationship between the two. It's along the lines of him saying he got kicked out of the club that they start together and she replies back that he left own his own free will in which he replies with, "well, you should have understood how I felt". My guy, the world doesn't revolve around you.

Not to say that she doesn't have any problems too. She's definitely just aloof all the time but most of the movies problems really is on him for holding everything in and being so passive aggressive. I don't know, the acting is fine, the cinematography is fine but the story was just all over the place and it falls flat. It all comes down to jealousy and how vicious it can be.

Great but not exactly the movie of the year
clumpsycarlos3 March 2021
I felt inspired to write this after seeing a harsher review of the same movie. I'm writing this the same day as the other review. That being said, I think this movie is well worth your time.

The main plot is the connection between two characters who are both freshmen at the beginning of the film. The main character goes by a philosophy where he limits his connections with people to limit the pain he causes, but a particular girl catches his interest and they soon become much, much closer.

To review aspects of my personal experience, here goes. The chemistry between the lead actors makes this an enjoyable film to watch. Although the two don't exactly spend the runtime together consistently, it's easy to care about the state of their relationship and its ups and downs. The premise of attempting becoming the person you want to be and the positives of idealism are equally engaging as they are thought-provoking.

To finalize this, my only criticisms would be that the directing is average and the acting is admittedly not the BEST. I write that in all caps to try to elaborate that the acting is not bad at all, it just isn't Joaquin Phoenix tier. The acting is still above average, but that's worth mentioning since the film has other aspects that are stronger.

Pretty typical
narimy11 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
A college student who represses his thoughts and feelings blame others for things happening around him. The plot was very typical, and the character annoys me. The cinematography was decent but nothing outstanding. The 4 rating is mainly for the actors and actresses. It's a great cast, but otherwise a meh movie. Started out watching for the cast and plot, watched till the end only for the cast.
