Eric and Ernie are joined by musical guests the Nolans, Marian Montgomery and Elton John. There's also a play set in WWI where the Germans look suspiciously like actors from The Sweeney, and Angela Rippon performs a song and dance routine.
Ernie has bought a new expensive watch. Eric and Ernie play a pair of game pieces. The Nolans sing "When You Are a King". Eric and Ernie along with Elton John are trying to get a musical act together but they have a lot of trouble working it out. Ernie sings "Singin' in the Rain" with Eric's assistance. Marian Montgomery sings "Goofus" accompanied by Eric and Ernie. Elton John performs "Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word". The play is 'Mademoiselle from I'm-In-Tears', which is set in Paris during World War I. Angela Rippon performs a dance routine with Eric and Ernie as they sing "A You're Adorable (The Alphabet Song)".—jem
