Good base

Unlike other reviews I happen to like the show.

It is not slow, it is giving us a background of all the character that will be in the series.

Noise, and subtitles. Just go watch the 400, Spider-Man and Batman movies already made, and the new ones to come.

Leave the show to people that like to watch a good tv show.

This episode really picked up!

Episode 1 was intriguing, but this episode stepped it up. The diversity of characters and cultures is well done. Great character development with just the right amount of drama. A refreshing shift from the all American typical setting.

As I predicted there would be negative reviews when there is a strong cast of diversity. Not surprising based on observations. Or just want to see the aliens and not even actually paying attention to the well written story line, great acting, direction and pace.

Hopefully it continues in the following episodes.

The video and AUDIO is fine.

This is a new version of what is becoming classic Sci-Fi and futuristic possibilities for today's audiences. A previous reviewer disliked the audio on this streaming but the audio is of the highest quality avaible at this time for streaming. The top notch choice one can receive is in Dolby Atmos, or what is also known as 'Spatial Audio'. Dolby Atmos, or Spatial Audio is meant to be more a three-dimensional type of audio where there is r-c-l and rears with r-l and upward firing speakers to add to that. If one has a system or UHDTV that will decode that streaming it will affect the audio and in my case, sounds great. I am using Sonos Arc+Sub+Era300 rears. The Arc and Era300's process the Dolby Atmos with upward firing speakers. If one is using good old fashioned stereo, there may be an option. From your streaming service as far as what type of audio you wish to receive to better match your system. No offense meant in my explanation but I thought a proper explanation might help other viewers. The video is done in 4k where all TV are in these days so when you upgrade if you haven't, check the audio abilities of any new UHDTV you choose.

Put the effort into watching.

If you're willing to put the effort to watch and pay attention, then this show is great. It may be slow at times, but it has a good foundation and is entertaining and has me drawn in by the end of the first episode.if you don't have the time or want to put the effort in, go watch some frozen.

Shockingly Amazing

Ignore the negative reviews, these people are lunatics. This show is fantastic. Episode 2 is really picking up. There is a ton of exciting things that happen if you're NOT an ADHD Marvel Addicted Moron. Don't get me wrong, Marvel is great but this show has more substance and is for an audience that wants more than just some One and Done experience. It's reminding me of Lost or Game of Thrones with its style of storytelling with multiple characters. It's great character development and writing keeps me intrigued for what will happen next. I genuinely care about the characters from the bullied British kid, to the Japanese NASA engineer. The effects are stunning, the sound reminded me of Arrival (which is extremely amazing if you have seen that movie) . This is a top tier show with a giant budget that you can see and feel. Give it a shot and ignore these insane people bringing it down for no reason.

Still boring

Just as boring as the first one. The last five minutes there was a little bit of excitement. I understand what character development is but this is getting a bit ridiculous.

What Invasion?!

It's a sorry state of affairs when Apple TV spends millions on a sci-fi series purporting to be about an alien invasion and then wasting the first three episodes on annoying characters doing nothing interesting and belonging to a completely different show. You can't promise one thing with the title "invasion," and then give us a boring soap opera that doesn't have any aliens or invasion related story for the first three episodes. Apple TV really needs to fire its development department.

Why did the bus driver keep driving?

Dude, the bus had like a quarter mile to stop but he just kept driving off a cliff and into a huge hole. Thought this part was ridiculous. On the other hand, this episode has been alright. The show is starting to become good.

Playstation, laptops and ipads 😳 the only thing were missing is some pizza and they will officially be a college Fraternity or something.

And what about treating civilians in their own homeland like terrorist? And the school they went to the words and letters written there were Arabic, not Pashto or Dari(the official languages in Afghanistan). Im so sick of the stereotypes about people living in Middle East it just sickens me.

And Ahmad's character is just repulsive and very bad written, no father will do this to his family.

Wow. What an awful slog. This belongs on lifetime channel. There is maybe 1% science fiction. I've read Apple is embarrassed with how this turned out, and I don't blame them.

Too much screaming. Too many subtitles. I had to fast forward a few times through this episode... this show has potential. I'm still giving it a shot but shheeeeh. Slow start.

And not miss a piece of the plot.

Ok, I thought the Tyrion walk through the rubble in the last episode of Game of Thrones was the Icon for eating up precious screen time when you have lack of good script. But this show might challenge that.

Presumably we will also begin to see more aliens and less tidbits about personal lives of people we aren't sure will live for 60 minutes and who are having whole conversations in two different languages. Ok, ok, I did notice what most people think probably passes for a cute ending to the scene (still lacking the depth of . . . . oh pick any classic foreign film from the 20th century).

I think they threw subtlty out the window when they created some of these characters:

• the selfish Muslim husband cheating on his wife and discovering for (apparently) the first time that racism exists
• the Japanese mother telling her daughter who just lost the love of her life that maybe it's for the best

ACK, I can't go on.

Let's wrap up with product placement, BMWs passing on the freeway, a mention of the Tesla's disappointing features, I bet I could find the brands of the porcelain farmhouse sinks with a close-up. Did I miss some brands of cereal, etc.

C'mon, mix the audio properly!

Im a video engineer. I understand stereo, 5.1 even 7.1 audio tracks. I understand that Hollywood doesn't seem to give a hoot about people who watch in stereo and thats why it's painful to listen to an improperly mixed production. But the whispering! Then a crash. Then a multi-language production. Personally, I hate subtitles. I feel like I have to race to read them and it ruins the show/movie for me. I don't mind the pacing. I don't mind the character development. The story here is intriguing and engaging. But what I do mind is the awful audio mix and having to read subtitles because they just could not keep it in english.

Too slow!

A new character after a new character, a new suspension after another one, yet no resolution or answer to what happened in this episode or in previous episode.

Maybe this show is trying to eventually catch up and answer all of this questions, but this is way too slow! It's driving me away. You know there is a limit of how thin you can stretch the suspension created in a show.. This show definitely breaks that suspension by pushing too far.
