Lynda Carter (who played Wonder Woman in Wonder Woman (1975) TV series) was approached to voice the goddess Hera, but had to refuse due to scheduling conflicts.
According to Christopher Drake, an earlier cut of the film was submitted to the MPAA and received an R rating. It was later re-cut to a PG-13 rating.
The cyclops that Artemis kills in the opening battle is based on Ray Harryhausen's stop-motion design in Jason and the Argonauts (1963).
