A good and humoristic look into the life of a struggling artist
OJT30 June 2022
Gritt is the story about an artist who doesn't make it. She tries to follow the codes and understand the ways of art, but is not able to get to the money.

She does a lot of work for known artists, but has nowhere to live, and she can't get hold of the life as artist - even if it's her sole purpose in life.

Slowly she self destructs in her struggle to fit it, and to make her own identity, and it's all done with a fine touch humor.

We all know that art can be dead strange, as well as important, and that it questions a lot of truths. It can also be too much of it all. Going towards the complete nonsense.

It's fun to watch Gritt's fall into oblivion.

If everybody asks "what's in it for me?" you are not likely to succeed in art.

Good description of mental instability
MiguelAReina2 February 2021
It is difficult to perform a character like Gritt, her helplessness in the face of lack of empathy, her mental degradation... Brigitte Larsen does a magnificent work, with the advantage of knowing the character from the short film "Retract" (Itonje Søimer Guttormsen, 2016). There is a narrative construction of self-destruction, or rather the inability to make the right decisions. And this process is well built in the changes of format or in the more unstable style of the images at the end.
