Such a huge script and potential nationwide sensation turned into a senseless daily-soap
SAMTHEBESTEST25 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Ram Setu (2022) : Movie Review -

Akshay Kumar's Ram Setu has been awaited not just as a film that will provide entertainment but also because it is based on one of the most culturally and aesthetically relatable topics, "Ramayana". The debates on Ramayan, or for that matter, the Ram Setu, have been going on for years and will go on for years. It's just a matter of your beliefs. Ram Setu is that debate but doesn't remain faithful to its basics. The film, which had so much potential to become a nationwide sensation with the concept of the existence of Ram Setu, couldn't grab the golden opportunity of making an adventure drama with cultural impact. Director Abhishek Sharma's daily-soap-driven execution causes a big time destruction to the film, Ram Setu (not the real Ram Setu, aka Adam's Bridge).

Aaryan (Akshay Kumar), an archaeologist, is hired by the archaeological department to prove that Ram Setu was not built by Shree Ram and his Vanar Sena. Aaryan, who believes only in science, gives a primary report which creates a question about Lord Shree Ram's existence, resulting in his temporary suspension. He is then hired by a businessman to find the scientific evidence of Ram Setu's being a natural structure, not man-made. Aaryan is accompanied by Dr. Sandra (Jacqueline Fernandez) and a Srilankan guide, AP (Satyadev), while his wife, Professor Gayatri (Nushrratt Bharuccha), is worried about threats. During the expedition, he learns many facts about Shree Ram, Raavana, and their existence. Amidst all this, the court gives an ultimatum of 3 days to demolish the Ram Setu, while Aaryan is desperate to complete his research in a given time to stop that process.

Ram Setu comes with many flaws. There are so many that just can't be named here, but a few must be discussed. Firstly, all the characters are baseless and they don't behave as per their professions. Aaryan is a scientist, yet he fails to understand a simple conspiracy. He is clueless about the expedition, and his companions are just like him. One of them suddenly turns rogue, and nobody still understands what political connect their journey actually has. The concept of Ramayana can be so spiritual and religiously powerful, but the writer takes it so casually. The court announces the demolition of Ram Setu in just 3 days. Now just imagine what kind of hysteria the country would face after hearing this. But here, you hardly see a group of 50-60 people gathering with "Jai Shree Ram" slogans. There is no chaos where there should have been one or many because this issue is so big. But sadly, the daily soap-driven pattern of the film makes it look small. There is no sense of why the political agenda takes over religion and why it is not an issue for the characters. At the end, things suddenly change for the protagonist, and he gives a long speech with so many fumbles. Where was the logic?

Talking about performances, Akshay Kumar doesn't look like an archaeologist at all. His white beard definitely makes him look ugly, and I don't know why it suddenly disappears in some scenes. Except for the lukewarm dialogue delivery in the last speech scene, he has done a decent job, but nowhere close to what it should have been. Jacqueline Fernandez still needs to work on her expressions and Hindi accent, even after so many films in the last few years. Akshay's wife, played by Nushratt, is a professor, and so you expect her to play an intelligent woman. You would be proven wrong completely. Nushrratt recently played challenging roles in Janhit Mein Jaari and Chhorri, but Ram Setu is not even half of it. The role in particular is written to be a useless one, so let's not blame her for that. The debutant Satyadev leaves a mark, though. Some of his dialogues don't come out well (that's the case with Jacqueline too). The same goes with Nassar, who has typical one-line dialogues with great irritating pauses. There are many questions about Pravesh Rana's role, but not about his acting.

Ram Setu should have gotten a better background score than 'Om Namah Shivaay'. It is a songless film in that sense, and yet it's 144 minutes (if that makes sense for you). The score in "Jai Shree Ram' is electrifying, but the scenes aren't elevated well with it. Most of the scenes lack a chilling background score, such as verbal mantras or shlokas. Did we get one in Ram Setu? No. The Om Namah Shivaya chant is too slow for that. Aseem Mishra's previous outing with Abhishek Sharma gave us some excellent frames in "Pamanu". Here in Ram Setu, you get some breathtaking frames from top view and front view, but the material isn't exciting enough. The visual effects are below par there.

Abhishek Sharma has used a wrong idea to tell a humongous tale of Ram Setu. To find the existence of Ram, you first have to find the existence of Raavana. Seriously? Prabhu Shree Ram did not exist before going to Lanka, or what? Don't we have so many places in India to prove Lord Ram's reality? What does such a big topic like this have to run like a TV series? Why did so many scenes have to be cut abruptly without any concrete endings? Sharma seems to have lost his touch after Parmanu. His previous two directorials, "The Zoya Factor" and "Suraj Pe Mangal Bhaari" were so annoying, and now this, Ram Setu. A hat-trick for him. On a lighter note, a concept like "Ram Setu - Reality of Myth" needs a larger-than-life scale and extraordinary vision, but here even basic things aren't well captured. Overall, Ram Setu falls short of its potential and fails to grasp the fundamentals.

RATING - 4/10*

When the director creates a science fiction movie for children but it is open for all due to historical religious attachments
vpashish9 November 2022
The movie aims to make audience serious but practically it all results into comedy and foolish science fiction with baseless dimension. One of the most FALTU and PAKAU movie we have witnessed in the history of bollywood. Mohinjadaro was better compared to this foolish storyline. All things starting from music to direction and from acting to funny science fiction badly disappoints. Akshay Kumar also fails to impress and jackline Fernandez is merely a entity which provides audience with some freshness through visuals. Overuse of CGI , may be the director considered Indian audience as fools. Don't go in theatres and waste your hard earned money on this baseless movie. Bollywood continues the tradition to disappoint.

Although the movie's mistakes were huge in professional terms but the script written by the writers was hats off. The script was made in such a way that people from both sides of beliefs were not hurt at all. I personally don't think the Adam's Bridge is whole Ram Setu or it is a small part of Ram Setu if Valmiki's calculations were correct or correctly interpreted. The film was very serious on it's topic & it didn't deviated it from it's purpose. I liked watching this movie & gave me nostalgia to Oh My God! (OMG). And the fighting scenes were not liked so-called movie scenes which are impossible or rarely possible to be done in real life.

AK40 does it again
parthdeepsinghdhillon29 October 2022
In his mad lust to complete shooting in less than 40 days, AK40 AKA Akshay Kumar ruined a great story in almost the same manner he ruined Prithviraj. AK40 is just trying to make money by manipulating Hindu sentiments. He must have thought that his movie will also float like stones just because it has Ram written on it. Hindus don't need ridiculous movies like this. Horrible acting, poor direction, bad music and a very loose childish script. The flow of the movie sucks. As usual, a great opportunity not just lost by urduwood but ruined for others as well. And the usual sickular monkey balancing which looks really ugly when forced into the story out of context or requirement of the plot.

It's not just bad. It's annoying.
singh-lalu50325 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
*SPOILER*

This movie is bad. And its not few things going bad. Almost everything is out of place. Bad Casting, Bad direction, bad dialogues, Bad editing, bad BGM, and what not.

Casting first, and i would say this played the major part in spoiling even a well executed scenes. Jacqueline And Nusrat both were not convincing in their roles. Their dialogues while adequate were never delivered with the intent and conviction. What's worse is their over-dramatized delivery. It always felt like they are acting on cue. As if they are invisible when they aren't the main character on screen. In one scene, they had to show concern, and they screamed the same dialogue again and again as if a 5 sec scene is put on repeat.

The direction- It seemed like director was in rush to complete the movie and forgot to add the emotional and thrilling impact in the narration and scenes. The scene which were supposed to excite and thrill us leave us staring at the screen. The scenes which could have easily brought audience on their feet and gathered apploud didn't even prompted a whistle. And BGM was just as bad. It could never hold audience attention during those forest adventures.

There are few good things. The final scene, and first scene. But that's it. It's not worth putting yourself through the ordeal. Avoid it. Unless you want to annoy yourself.

A Pleasant Watch - Ram Setu - itsbymayank
mayanklouteriya26 October 2022
Underwater Scene is just wow.

Storyline is all about RamSetu, Efforts on the movie while making it can be easily seen in the movie.

Fast pace movie, not a single song in it.

The Story keeps you engaged till the end and the climax gives smile.

The Visuals are Good, people who are saying bad or worst things about movie are not actually wanted to watch the movie or wanted only to say bad things.

I'll say not best or Great movie but those who don't know about the facts but this incident actually happened in 2007.

Whole movie question about Ram Setu and Shree Ram Existence and revealed many small things or interesting facts about the Ram Setu or Shree Ram.

Akshay is pleasant to watch, Satyadev brings smile when he comes on Screen.

One time watch and Good Try Makers.

Review of Ram Setu - itsbymayank Mayank Prabha Louteriya

Itihas 'it does happen'.

Concept is great but lacks performance.
tomartarun25 October 2022
Today I watch this movie due to its interesting title but after sometime movie start lacking as usual VFX, direction and screenplay. I don't know why Bollywood not try to use good VFX companies for their movies. They don't want to learn from past experiences. Story is good but poor performances by actors. It is just waste of time and money for me to go and watch it in theaters. If they try to provide better screenplay and directions then it will be a good movie. When you try to make such a big title movie you should have to give time in creating and making a movie. But when you follow ASAP policy in making movies then it lacks everything as always Bollywood does. Poor.

Good Story Line
harishnj25 December 2022
The story line in the film was good and it developed as the story progresses. The character introductions in the film was really good to watch. Akshay sir did a great job as an archaeologist in the film.

The VFX was good. The background soundtrack was impressive. There was a suspense at the end and it was impressive to watch. The story suddenly changed in the second half and the way it progressed was good. The court scene and the dialogues were written great and Akshay sir was impressive in the court scene.

The movie overall was good and Akshay sir given one of the great performances with different role.

Atheist se Bhakt tak!!
nadkarnisumeet26 October 2022
Ram Setu review :

He is an archeologist, a scientist and an atheist. By the end of the film, he also turns a lawyer and a bhakt!!

I mean Shri Ram Bhakt!

That's pretty much the graph of Akshay Kumar's character - a desi Indiana Jones if you may wanna call him - who is sucked in to a timebound expedition out to prove that the Ram Setu (or Adams bridge) connecting India to Lanka was man made. And more importantly, Lord Ram is NOT a mythology but our glorious history.

Drawing real life influence from the mid '2000s case where the previous UPA Government had filed an affidavit in court challenging the very existence of Lord Ram, the film seamlessly weaves in a thrilling adventure in to the proceedings to provide a wholesome Diwali entertainer for the entire family. Particularly, the underwater sequences will appeal big time to kids...

Unlike Samrat Prithviraj, Akshay Kumar is in form this time and he steers the movie effortlessly through its twists and turns right up to the courtroom climax. Nushrat Bharuccha looks too young to be his wife though!! The real surprise package turns out to be Satya Dev as AP, a tourist guide volunteering to help Kumar and co. For a couple of bucks.

On the flipside, the VFX are underwhelming, the film loses grip a couple of times in the second hour and Jacqueline looks more a model than a scientist. But all of these flaws get drowned in the ocean once the climactic revelation happens...Ram Setu just soars in the end and the final "divine" twist tugs your heartstrings to clap aloud in appreciation. Make it your family outing!!

Regards, Sumeet Nadkarni.

Bunch of trash stitched together from Whatsapp messages and Facebook posts
ankuruk29 October 2022
The list of issues with the movie are way too long. But I'll try to restrict myself to the major ones.

First and foremost the plot of the film does no justice whatsoever to a topic that has the potential of churning out a blockbuster. The entire film revolves around a case in the Supereme Court that seeks permission to dredge a portion of the Ram Setu to create a new international shipping route that would make it easier for merchant ships to navigate the stretch of Indian ocean that lies between India and Sri Lanka.

The protagonist portrayed by Akshay Kumar and his sidekick team of researchers always manage to pull out anecdotal evidences without any solid research or fact finding.

Its almost as if the film desperately tries to play on the religious sentiments of its viewers to keep them interested but unfortunately the shoddy VFX and poorly shot action sequences overwhelm those efforts too.

Surprisingly good
singhr-0195827 October 2022
I went with zero expectations, but it was a good movie. Especially towards the end. Acting was okayish. Akki looks too old. Nushrat - The only time she looks young is when she stands next to akki. Jacqline - we all know how talented an actress she is. Lol. But, its a good story, keeps you on the edge of your seats. If this movie would have released 3 years ago, it would be a blockbuster. But, audiences have changed completely now. They want free entertainment on ott. Nothing wrong with that. Not much to criticize about the movie. Its a one time watch. I do like the background music. Overall nice movie.

One Time Watch
nitsvirusboyz25 October 2022
Is Akshay Kumar back with another underwhelming film? After delivering the disappointing action comedy Bachchhan Paandey, a historical action drama Samrat Prithviraj, a family drama Raksha Bandhan, and a crime thriller Cuttputlli, he is back with his latest offering, an adventure action film Ram Setu, but this time he will not disappoint his fans completely. The makers have chosen a fascinating subject that hasn't been explored in any Indian film.

Abhishek Sharma's story was promising and has all the ingredients like adventure, mystery, science, action, and courtroom drama. The dialogues, direction & editing were good, and the background score goes well with the film. But there was more scope for better & engrossing writing here. The concept may have sounded more exciting on paper but the execution is mediocre. Also the below-par VFX is the biggest drawback of the film which has hugely affected the overall impact of the film.

The film starts on a good note and the first half of the film has little cinematic appeal too. But the screenplay can hold the audience in bits & pieces. The film tried to revive itself in the second half and picks up pace. It does become engaging and the surprise in the climax will be loved by most of the viewers.

Akshay Kumar has delivered a notable performance. Jacqueline Fernande was decent in her role but Nushrratt Bharuccha has nothing to offer here. Satya Dev got a well-written role and he has done complete justice to his role in his Bollywood debut. Nassar, Pravesh Rana. Jeniffer Piccinato, and other supporting were just fine in their roles.

Direction 3/5 Acting 3/5 Dialogues 3/5 Story 3.5/5 Screenplay 2.5/5.

Nothing Else than Disappointing
ianisingh25 October 2022
It's such a waste, Seriously the plot of the movie is just way off comparing to the title of the movie. Bad storyline followed by bad direction & worst VFX will summarise the 2hrs wasted in the theatre. The plot of the movie could have been 100 times better than what we're actually seeing on the big screen, sheer waste of such an historical topic which could have been a masterpiece. Below average & made up acting & writing is something which is very disappointing again a disaster from Akshay is on the cards. Background music is good but sadly it's does not toned with the bad VFX which will irritate the audience throughout the entire duration of the movie. Disappointing is only a word this movie of Akshay can be defined in. 👎

Poor Script Writing
gudiayadav-0573825 October 2022
Story is not written in good manner.. because it's neither look like science fiction nor historical view.. it's script look like cut paste from text message from WhatsApp.

Some places in movie its feeling like political narrative are saying by actors.. The many facts are playing as in manipulating way thats make confusion in person who had strong belief in religious books or stories. What's actual research and what's actual finding its not know many of the people because of their low literacy and this is topic of belief also so that it's easy to affect people in particular way..

What is the conclusion it's not clear.. ??

Acting is good but dressing sense is not good..

Music is good.

Akshay Kumar's Film Is About A Floating Stone But Has No Clue How To Stay Afloat
MehdiRizvi-786725 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
A wobbly bridge that stands on exceedingly weak pylons, Ram Setu, written and directed by Abhishek Sharma, is an abomination of mythic proportions. It is a film that dives into an ocean. But all it does is flail about in a sinkhole of silliness.

In the end, the film, which does occasionally cite books and other sources of knowledge, expectedly formulates a convenient conclusion about the Ramayana, Lord Rama and Ram Setu that smacks of WhatsApp university-level wisdom.

Let us find some evidence, the male protagonist says when he is faced with a foregone postulation. He sounds like a clueless man looking for a samosa vendor in the Gobi Desert. He is not alone. Everybody, yes everybody, in Ram Setu sounds pretty much the same and looks just as lost.

Parts of Ram Setu, presented by Prime Video and based on a story by creative producer Chandraprakash Dwivedi (who recently helmed Samrat Prithviraj, which was designed to serve a largely similar narrative) pretend to be science fiction. Experts are huddled in a floating laboratory aboard a ship out at sea and terms such as carbon dating, sonar imaging and global warming are bandied about. But forget science, this isn't even proper, passable fiction.

Poorly written, shoddily mounted and badly acted, Ram Setu is pure, self-serving and hysterical drivel that rides on the back of a Bollywood star who enjoys undisputed monopoly on the genre. There is absolutely nothing new here except for the fact that Akshay Kumar sports a studiedly professorial look that could be regarded as a departure from norm. That apart, he starts off spouting surprisingly provocative lines that go against type.

"Dharm sirf todta hai, sanskriti jodta hai (Religion divides, culture unites)," he says in one early scene. Worthy of applause? Well, it is easy to predict that all this is going to be too good to be true. Ram Setu is constructed around half-baked theories about India's past and present that sound more like ill-informed pronouncements of a vote-seeking politician than considered inferences of pundits who know what they are talking about.

The lead actor plays Aryan Kulshreshtha, an archaeologist we first see in Bamiyan, Afghanistan in 2007 as part of a subcontinental team of experts deployed to save the remnants of a Buddhist site destroyed by the Taliban. The man is soon in the line of fire. He saves himself and, in what is a minor miracle, a Pakistani archaeologist by the skin of their teeth.

Aryan next surfaces in the Delhi headquarters of a fictional Archaeological Society (not Survey) of India. His boss gives him a new task with the express instruction to serve the interests of a politically connected shipping tycoon (Nasser) who wants to demolish the Ram Setu and build a sea passage between India and Sri Lanka to maximise profit. Against the advice of his history professor-wife Gayatri (Nusshratt Bharuccha), Aryan accepts the assignment.

He proceeds to dig a mammoth hole for himself and his department. He becomes the fall guy and is suspended. After he has cooled his heels at home for a while, a lifeline is thrown to him. The shipping magnate who wants Ram Setu out of his way engages Aryan to find evidence to substantiate that the bridge predates Lord Ram and can be brought down without hurting religious sentiments.

The job requires Aryan to report to an onsite project manager (Pravesh Rana) who is just the sort of guy who revels is revealing to all and sundry that his loyalty is to his employer even if that means giving truth a wide berth. Needless to say, Aryan finds himself fighting to scuttle a major conspiracy.

In trying to find his way out of the hole he is in with mysterious tour guide named AP (Satya Dev) and scientist Sandra Rebello (Jacqueline Fernandez), he creates for the film a series of even bigger holes that engulf everything that Ram Setu wants to pass off as the ultimate truth. This, of course, isn't the fault of the character or the actor.

Ram Setu will be remembered - does it deserve to be remembered? - for serving up an unappetising goulash of history, mythology and fatuous fantasy. A lot of vigour has visibly gone into the making of the concoction. What is missing is logic.

Ram Setu presents the faith-versus-science debate in a manner so ham-fisted and heavy-handed that one can sense from thousands of nautical miles away that it isn't the least bit interested in an intelligent engagement with veracity, belief and reason. Sense is a bridge too far for Ram Setu. Its arguments, which do not hold much water anyway, are submerged by waves and waves of inanity.

Revolving around an archaeologist who does not believe in God and propounds the theory that Ram Setu is a natural formation and not a man-made structure, the film huffs and puffs its way to a very predictable climax where the naysayers have no qualms about changing course and voting against rationality.

All that Ram Setu portrays takes place in pre-2014 India. This allows the screenwriter to paint the government of the day in poor light and brand them as corrupt rulers who are in cahoots with robber barons out to make a killing by destroying the nation's cultural and religious heritage. Mercifully, no politician that the film portrays resembles a real figure. But that is only a minor concession that does little to offset the film's lopsided worldview.

Had the gratuitous gibberish that it peddles been presented with some flair, Ram Setu might have leapfrogged, Hanuman-like, over the hurdles that it creates for itself. But it has absolutely no mitigating quality. It isn't even well mounted. The VFX is rudimentary and the action scenes - underwater, on land, and in the air - are pedestrian.

Ram Setu seeks to drive home one singular point, and in unambiguous black and white: "Iss desh mein Ram ko jo nahin manta uska muh toh kala hona hi hai (In this nation, one who denies Lord Rama's existence deserves to have his face blackened)."

Well, does anybody need a two-and-half-hour movie to make that assertion? A detailed WhatsApp message from the makers would have sufficed. Ram Setu is cinema that does nothing for the medium or the audience. It is a film about a floating stone but has no clue how to stay afloat. Avoidable even if you are an Akshay Kumar fan.

Not as bad as one may think
anoopepri26 December 2022
Before watching it, I certainly had a notion that the movie might deliberately try to force its way into a religious sentiment. However, I feel, this is a good start. The dialogues are good enough and direction is also ok. Donot have very high expectations, however you also don't need to be highly critical of the movie also. It's a one time watch, for someone who loves historical mystery stories clubbed with indiana jones style. VFX is not good. They have relied too much of VFX which seems too childish. Overall nothing much to complain about.

Be very assured that this is NOT a movie that glorifies a particular religion heavily.

Akshay kumar seems to be unintrested in the movies. He is not showing any acting skills and making garbage movies. He is making the most out of his popularity to make money. The movie has no concrete story line, only the idea. This does not deserved to be compared with indiana jones. This moviea is inspired by whatsapp forward. Nothing makes sense in this movie. I dont understand the need to bring in villains and guns.

Akshay kumar has continued making garbage movies. He is always making movies to exploit the peoples sentiments be it nationalist or religious.

I am surely not buying the ticker for the next akshay movie.

One time watchable for rama's scientific view
gaganjiopostpaid25 October 2022
Movie is based on ram setu controversy, whether it should be there or not , And it's little adventures too , and surely adventure part is the best part of the movie

Positives 1 Askhay kumar archeological character is best in some places , and his dialogue are reasonable.

2 it is said fiction, but most part resemble reality 3 sathya dev character is nice 4 Music most of 1st half is not good , but 2nd half it becomes good .

Negatives 1 All others characters are just there , no intensity in screen 2 VFX after some 20 min , it becomes good , again it becomes cartoon , and literally shows the blue screen, it can be made good .

Yaar , I am a movie buff , this concept is fresh and it's gives good feels like karthikeya 2 , so for me it's always a good watch.

Worth watching Once for the reveal in the Last Scene
adityasajeev3 December 2022
The Last scene of this movie gave me goosebumps and i shed a few tears. The last time i cried watching a movie maybe the only time too, years ago watching Hachico A Dogs's story.

For a small budget film, the vfx was decent overall, at some places its bad, and most places surprisingly good.

Acting of everyone was quite bad, except Satyadev Kancharana who plays A. P.

A Main reason this movie is watchable in the 2nd half is due to A. P. The 1st half was quite engageing, because we explore Ram Setu.

The climax court case needed to be more hard hitting.

This film is a 7.1/10 for me but i am emotionally way too swayed right now, I again say this movie is definitely a 1 time watch just for the reveal in the very last scene of the movie.

Jai Shree Ram Jai Hanuman.

This could have been so much better
sukalyands-4229223 December 2022
This had such a good concept and timing. But what a waste of opportunity, i hope the opportunity is not wasted for all times to come. Bad storyline. Script collected from whatsapp and Social media. No real research gone to the movie. Most of the shoots not in actual locations. Such bad CGI.

I really think this really tales a lot of effort to spoil such a good concept. Pretty much effort gone into that. The underwater scene was laughable. All animations reminded me of Shaktiman. The way the trio went into the caves and came out. Crocodiles swimming all around them. Pretty funny. The underwater suit. I think i have 2 of those in my garage. I am open to rent them to the director. And the underwater vehicle. I think it is made from an old Nano car. Just look at the budget of the movie. I am wondering where all the funds went.

VISUALLY APPEALING
editsbysamannita26 October 2022
One of the best film of 2022. This film reminds us of Karthikeya 2. And gives more or less same vibes. Here actors shines more

Akshay Kumar shines with his role and with his underwater suit there's some exciting scenes. Overall an impactful story with full of action sequences which will be liked by all masses.

Jacqueline Fernandez, Tollywood-Kollywood actor Satyadev, Nusratt, Naseer, Jennifer Piccinato all performed well. Music is average. Jai Shri Ram bgm is outstanding

Makers will be hoping that Film should not go unnoticed like Rakshabandan which was another masterpiece released this year.

Serious actors would have done justice with plot and could have made it a classic!
shrutirbhatia7 January 2023
The plot is amazing. Story could have been more clear, many scenes were left vaguely.

The metaphors used are something I have not seen in Bollywood movies earlier which makes it interesting (something that was fascinating in parasites). The villain's company name is pushpak shipping, ravana's airplane. Akshay Kumar's sea suit is named makar, sea crocodile; the guide is AP anjani putra, his boat's name is cheeranjeevi that's immortal which Hanuman is said to be.

The cast should have been different one, this topic and the way it is presented deserves lot more serious actors, it was easy impact plot, but these actors were not able to do that. You will not be connected to any character throughout the movie. This had potential to be a classic movie that stays with masses but nothing like that happens. The only character that is having some depth is Akshay Kumar's but that also doesn't takes you on a journey. You never connect emotionally with the character's feelings. Ranveer Singh or Hrithik Roshan would have been much better choices to connect with audience. Satyadev was the best character and actor in the movie.

Definitely worth a watch. It will just leave a nice movie feeling nothing larger than life.

Poorest Animation - Weak storyline
anshumanpkt9 January 2023
This is the worst movie to watch given the animation quality.

Reminds me of days when we used to watch Duck Tales and Little Mermaid stories which had better animation this movie has to offer.

Jaqueline was a show piece in the movie with over amplified emotions. Movie that can be depicted was such a waste of time, effort and money.

Akshay Kumar - His hair kept changing colors from the start of the movie to end. Khiladi as usual didn't do any research on the character. And was such a pain to watch with his fake hair and glasses. Animation was disappointing. Nothing to cherish about this movie.

What a waste of such powerful story.

Full of overacting and the VFX is as awful as the acting.

Definitely everything was done in hurry so they couldn't even review it.

Worst one so far, Definitely wasted 2 hours just watching such poor animation work as well as making a joke out of storyline.

I still can't believe some of them are consideredas actor(Jacqueline Fernández, nushrratt bharuccha, pravesh Rana and the list is long)

Somehow indian cinema is trying to compete with international cinema but Bollywood is definitely becoming a joke day by day.

Heads up to South Cinema atleast they are master of their art and what a shame Bollywood can copy everything from them otherthn perfection.

What a joke.

This looks like a money laundering scheme

Acting: extremely sub-par Cinematography: looked like this is their first gig at using a camera to film CGI: piss poor given the tech available and money involved. Woefully unnecessary at times Social commentary: really bad at doing the one thing i thought this movie was attempting to do.

Akshay kumar should really stick to movies where he can be goofy. The actress playing Gabrielle had a presence equivalent to bone bits in a biryani.

If you are going to make a movie maybe learn how to construct one instead of throwing things together and hoping it'll stick.

The characters lacked life and the camera unfortunately highlighted that aspect even more with its rather amateur and awkward everything. It hovered too long on things that didn't require attention in the first place or failed to portray the gravity of any of the plethora of situations the films bombards you with.

Wire-work was also terrible and unnecessary. You'd think Indian cinema has come a long way make believable human movement.

Maybe, just maybe the next time you cast Akshay Kumar, make sure he is not the glue that sticks the movie together because he doesn't. His character lacks basic human traits and does such a bad job in crisis mode. I stress this point more because the movie wants you to believe he is Crisis Man and can un-crisis you from any and all crisis.

These are just a few points I thought were worth mentioning because talking about all of them would be an unnecessary waste of my time. And these were from the first half of the movie at that.
