- Billy sits in the safehouse, looks at a piece of paper with directions, and considers the past.
-----
Becca steps out of her house and confronts Billy, as Homelander is there. Later, Billy wakes up in the parking lot outside a restaurant. He gets to his feet and goes into the restaurant. The hostess greets him, and Billy asks where he is. She tells him that he's in Fort Wayne, and Billy writes down the directions with the description of Becca's house. The TV is running a piece about a multi-state manhunt for Billy, who allegedly murdered Stillwell. The hostess stares at Billy in recognition, and he quickly leaves.
-----
Billy stares at the directions that he wrote down on the restaurant placemat, then joins the others. Milk is looking at an online obituary for Rayner, and Kimiko continues writing down the word "boy" and drawing Frenchie's attention to it. He admits to her that he doesn't understand, and Billy and Hughie come in and Billy says that he has to meet a contact. Hughie demands specifics, but Billy refuses and walks off. When Hughie complains that Billy left them for dead and now it's like nothing happened, Billy turns around and says that he's sorry that he didn't trust the Boys to protect themselves.
When Hughie points out that Billy blew up Stillwell, Billy repeats that she was already dead when he blew her up. The others don't join in Hughie's objections, and Billy tells Hughie that the others have no one else to follow. Hughie has no answer to that, and Billy leaves.
Homelander plays catch with Ryan in the backyard as Becca watches from the house. The Supe talks about his father and the baseball he had, finally tells Ryan to use his powers, and throws their baseball into the sky. When Ryan says that he can't do that, Homelander tells him that he can because he's his son. Homelander asks if anyone has told the boy what he's capable of, and that it's time Ryan found out. Before Homelander can say anything else, Becca calls Ryan in.
Once Ryan goes inside, Homelander complains that Ryan can't even throw a fast ball. Becca reminds Homelander that they decided Ryan have as ordinary a childhood as possible. Homelander asks who "they" is, and that it's a good thing he's there because Ryan is as far from the "normal" that Becca wants him to be. Becca asks how long Homelander is planning on staying, and Homelander says that they had a deal to keep Billy alive and well.
Carol goes over Deep's list of his abilities, and tells him that there's no correct or incorrect answer. She points out that the sketch he made of himself is far more muscular than he is, and asks how he can get back into the Seven if he can't be honest with himself. Eagle returns to his apartment with Frescas, and Carol tells him that Deep's "operating perspective" is functionally non-existence. She doesn't think there's a path there, and Eagle tells her to leave it to him.
Eagle talks to Deep and tells him that he's suppressed by negative energy, and gives him drugs that he calls a "gateway". Deep drinks the drugs and Eagle tells him that it's Deep's journey.
Starlight does TV blurb's promoting the Seven's newest member, Stormfront. Later, she poses for the press with Maeve and Stormfront, as Barrett looks on. As they leave for their next junket, Maeve gets a call and is surprised at the news she gets. Once she hangs up, Maeve abruptly leaves, telling Barrett that it's a family emergency.
At Rayner's funeral, the minister gives the eulogy as a woman, Grace Mallory, scowls at an edible arrangement. Afterward, Grace goes to her car and tells the hiding Billy that she taught him how to hide. She reminds Billy that he promised that she would never see him again and says that she's going to turn in Billy for Stillwell's murder. Grace doesn't believe in Billy's innocence, and he says that he knows who killed Rayner. Grace demands a name, and Billy says that he doesn't have that answer but he does know how to get it.
Billy suggests that Vought had Rayner killed for getting too close to the super terrorist smuggled into Jersey a few months ago. Grace doesn't believe him, and Billy says that if they find the terrorist then they'll find Rayner's killer. He says that he wants to do it for Rayner, but Grace doesn't believe him and asks what he wants. Grace walks away, and Billy asks her to hear him out.
Deep sits on a bed and contemplates his fingers. He hallucinates his gills speaking to him, telling him that he imagines women will laugh at him so Deep humiliates them first. His gills accuse him of violating women's bodies because he can't accept his own. Deep yells to Eagle to let him out, and in the living room outside Eagle and Carol listen and do nothing.
Maeve, disguised in civilian garb, goes to the hospital and tells Elena that she's still listed as her emergency contact. Elena's appendix was about to burst, so the doctors called Maeve in her civilian identity as Maggie. Elena thanks Maeve for coming but figures she has more important places to be. Maeve says that she still wants to see the doctor, and Elena insists that she's fine. Despite that, Maeve sits down next to her former lover and says that she's going to watch over Elena for a while.
Starlight and Stormfront give interviews and talk about their new slogan, "Girls Get It Done". The interviews ask the same questions, and Stormfront finally asks why it makes a difference if heroes or male or female. Barrett is looking on and glares at Stormfront, who gets a call on her phone and complains about the lack of pockets in her costume.
The next interviewer asks Starlight why A-Train has been out of the public eye. Vought has claimed that he's on a top-secret mission, and the interviewer calls A-Train in. Starlight welcomes him back, and afterward at a reception approaches him and asks how he's feeling. A-Train says that he's feeling fantastic, and he says that he heard that Starlight came by his room every day. He thanks her, and Starlight tells him that everyone thinks everyone thinks it's a good idea that he called her in for backup the night he had his heart attack.
A-Train sarcastically asks Starlight how everyone feels about her helping her "traitor boyfriend" escaping. She asks who he mentioned that part to, and A-Train walks off without a word.
Hughie is in the safehouse watching a Billy Joel video, and Billy comes back and tells Frenchie and Milk that he met with Grace. He says that Grace is going to scrub their records if they bring in the terrorist, and Hughie comes in and asks how they know Billy is telling the truth. Billy gives him the address Grace gave him, linked to the blind account that financed the terrorist entering the company.
Deep lies on a mattress, and Gills tells him that he deserves to be loved... but it starts with Deep. Gills tells Deep to take a real look at his gills. Deep looks at them in a hand mirror, then says that he's the ugly one on the inside. When Gills says that Deep doesn't see what it sees, Deep tosses the mirror on the bed and sits down, holding his head in his hands. Gills sings "You Are So Beautiful", and after a moment Deep insists that he isn't. His gills keep singing, and after a minute Deep sings along with them.
Stormfront is on social media, talking in disgust about her new action figure. Starlight comes over and tells her that she likes everything Stormfront has been saying about Vought, and that she agrees with her new teammate. Stormfront assumes Starlight is spying on her and tells Starlight that she doesn't need a Vought spy around her. Gecko comes up and Stormfront, noting him, leaves the two of them alone.
Gecko is missing his right eye, and he tells Starlight that the company is testing a new shampoo for eye irritation. He gives Starlight the stolen Compound V sample, and doesn't care that Starlight has no way to smuggle it out. Once Gecko leaves, Starlight hides it in her boot. A-Train speeds up, having recognized Gecko, and then asks Starlight what she put in her boot. Starlight denies putting anything there, and A-Train checks her boots but finds nothing there. Stormfront calls Starlight back to the interviews.
Becca drops Ryan off at his piano teacher's house. She then drives desperately off.
Homelander is in the house drinking the milk and sniffing Becca's clothes. He finds hidden photos of Becca with Billy.
Becca drives to a walled compound and tells the guard to open the gate so she can talk to Park. She yells at the monitors, and Park calls the guard and has him give the phone to Becca. Becca says that she was told she'd never have to see Homelander again, and Park says that Vought has made a decision not to antagonize Homelander further. When Becca threatens to take Ryan and disappear, Park tells her that it's not possible. The monitors show video of Homelander in the house, and Park says that they can't move Becca and Ryan. He says that their best guess is that Homelander will get bored and move on, but Becca doesn't believe it and hangs up. Meanwhile, Homelander notices the hidden surveillance camera.
Maeve sits on the bed with Elena and they chat. Elena asks why Maeve is there if nothing has changed in her life with the Seven, and tells Maeve that it's time to go. As Maeve goes, she describes a party that she went to with Homelander. A producer chatted her up all night, and two days later there was a fire in his office and he was decapitated. Maeve doesn't want Homelander to do that to Elena, and says that she's seen Homelander do similar things and made her do them as well. Elena wonders why Maeve is telling her now, and Maeve says that she doesn't want Elena to hate her anymore.
That night, Homelander goes to Ryan's bedroom and gives him a phone. He invites Ryan to call him, and talks about how he didn't have any friends when he was Ryan's age. Homelander tells Ryan that he never had parents, and it's hard to be superior to every human on the planet. He tells Ryan that they're gods and can do anything they want without anyone stopping them. Homelander assures Ryan that feeling that way is a good thing, and now the two of them can share it together. Ryan says that he has to go to bed, and as Homelander leaves he says that he loves Ryan. The boy hesitantly says it back at Homelander's prompting, and the Supe says that what they did was nice.
Becca is in the hallway outside, and tells Homelander that he needs to get out of her house. Homelander wonders what happens when Ryan wants to go out in the world, and finds out Becca has lied to him his whole life. The Supe says that they should go ask Ryan, but Becca refuses to let Homelander go back into the boy's room. Having overheard her conversation with Park, Homelander tells Park that she was right and he's not going to get bored and move on, before leaving.
The Boys go to the address Billy has got, and Frenchie gives Billy two shots of a drug to use against the Supe. Hughie glares at Billy and they go to the door, and Frenchie picks the lock while Kimiko nervously looks on. The Boys go in, and find a party headquarters. They split up to search the place, and Kimiko finds an Asian man in a back office, going over photos. Kimiko yanks the man's head off with superhuman strength, just as Frenchie comes in and sees the entire thing.
Frenchie confirms the man has the tattoo of the Shining Light Liberation Army, with the terrorists. Kimiko nods that she knows the man, and then slips out. Frenchie goes out after her, while Kimiko climbs on top of the shelves and walks over them. She finds another man, jumps down, and then hugs him. The man, Kenji, hugs her back, and Hughie sees them from hiding. Frenchie joins Hughie and they watch as Kimiko breaks into tears and takes Kenji's hand.
Frenchie realizes that Kenji is Kimiko's brother, and that's what she was trying to tell him earlier. Hughie finds Billy and tells him that Kimiko has found her brother, but Billy prepares to shoot Kenji anyway. As he aims, Hughie tackles him, knocking his shot off and shattering a nearby case. Kenji uses his telekinesis to knock Billy, Hughie, and Frenchie back, and then slam display cases on them and drop the rafters down. Kimiko pulls Kenji away and they run. Frenchie emerges from the debris and calls to Kimiko. He runs out, but Kimiko and Kenji have disappeared into the night.
Starlight approaches Stormfront and insists that she's not a sellout. Stormfront asks why Starlight cares what she thinks, and Starlight says that maybe she wants to say everything Stormfront is saying about Vought. She starts to say what Vought is, but then stops. Stormfront tells her that she can say what she thinks, and wonders what could happen to Starlight when the latter warns that it might not be safe. The new heroine says that Pippi Longstocking is the greatest superhero, and when she dressed as her for Halloween Stormfront didn't care what other kids thought of her. She tells Starlight to be free once in a while, and as she leaves Starlight takes the sample out of Stormfront's backpack where Starlight slipped it earlier.
Frenchie and Milk pull Billy out of the debris, and Billy prepares to attack Hughie for ruining his shot. Milk holds Billy back, and Billy tells Hughie that he should fuck off. He tells Milk and Frenchie to come with him, but they stay with Hughie. Billy asks Milk if Kimiko's family is worth more to Milk than his, and Milk no but Kimiko is one of them. Frenchie sides with Milk, and Billy says that Becca is alive. He tells the Boys about Ryan, and Homelander showed Billy what he had done to humiliate him. Billy insists that he has to find Becca and free her, and he needs their help to do it. He explains that he made a deal with Grace: the terrorists for Becca's location. Billy says that he knows they should hate him, but he's asking for their help.
Kimiko and Kenji flee to a playground, and they "talk" via sign about how Kenji is now a terrorist. When a crying Kimiko tells Kenji that she's free, she comes over and puts her hand on his chest. He returns the gesture and Kimiko hugs him, and Kenji hugs her back.
Starlight returns to her room, and texts Hughie that she got it and he needs to call her. A-Train speeds in and asks how she's sexting, takes the sample from her boot, and says that Homelander should have killed her when he found her with Hughie. Starlight points out that she and Hughie saved A-Train's life, and he tells her to think about her when Homelander slowly kills her.
Considering the matter, Starlight tells A-Train that he's not going to tell anyone anything. She points out that A-Train killed Popclaw, and says that she looked at the forensic report and knows A-Train jabbed multiple needles into Popclaw's arm. Starlight threatens to go public with the knowledge, and invites A-Train to take her down with him. She says that she doesn't care, and takes the sample back. A-Train leaves without a word.
Kenji and Kimiko walk down the street, arguing about Kenji being with Shining Light. As he walks away, Kimiko grabs his hand and holds Kenji there with her own strength. He telekinetically knocks her back and runs, and Kimiko goes after him.
Kimiko chases Kenji down the streets and he finally immobilizes her, telekinetically. He throws her into the third story of a nearby building and runs off. When he stops, Kimiko catches up to him and drops on him, knocking him to the street. She knocks him out with a sleeper hold, and the Boys pull up in their van. They get out and Frenchie asks Kimiko if she's all right.
Billy congratulates Kimiko on her "sense", and they load Kenji into the back of the van after taping up his hands, and Kimiko sits with her unconscious brother. When Hughie looks at Billy, Billy punches him in the face and tells him that if Hughie comes between him and Becca again, he'll kill him. They get into the van, Hughie last, and the Boys drive off.
