Why would Netflix cancel this...

This show was great and hilarious. I wish someone else would pick it up and continue it.

Had me in tears more than once
mirandasmith-838945 April 2021
Great sitcom with mostly lovely characters. For me not a 10 as often dialogues /Jokes are obviously staged and not natural.

Second point is Summer - I seriously don t understand how Beau the cowboy can "fall" for such a character, they just don t match at all and it s too obvious that at some point Beau and Bailey will end up together. But they should have choosen a tiny bit more likeable character as Summer is really annoying and you just want her out of the picture.

So a solid 8 as there was more than one scene that had my eyes filled with tears.

Cheese fun

If you can get past the horrendous fake accents, it's enjoyable. Eric Balfour saves it from being complete trash.

Not that bad
paulitqa19 January 2022
The first episode gave me "The Nanny" vibes. It's quite funny. Sometimes cringy, sometimes soapy. It's a good watch while folding laundry. It's one of those shows, that when you miss an episode you're not missing much and can still keep up.

Nashville Sound of Music

I watched all the episodes in one sitting. The show grows on you. You begin to care about the characters and what happens to them. It's funny and touching. The singing is great. Chemistry among the actors was believable. I want to know what happens now. Need another season.

Basically, it's "The Nanny" with country accents.
catgirl61 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Her boyfriend dumped her, she lost her job working for him, and she coincidentally showed up at the door and was mistaken for someone the nanny agency sent over. She showed how good she was with the kids during a crisis, so she was offered the live-in job on the spot despite having no nannying experience.

There's even a CeCe character (although here she's the actual girlfriend); a Brighton character, wheeling and dealing like a Wall Street executive; and a Gracie character who still hasn't dealt with the death of her mother. I'm sure one of the older boys will show himself to be a Maggie character who just needs confidence and a makeover. Cute show. I loved it in the 1990s too. 👍🏽😘

An old new show
chrisrowexxx27 April 2021
The negative reviews are silly, everything on tv has been done at some point. There are very few original series so to judge on that is naff. It's fun, innocent humour, the little girl is the absolute star. Like the big show show. The laugh tracks corny, music is fun addition, there's an arrogance to it where it feels unnatural but it's on you to get over it, it's cheesy, predictable but fun content with above average actors who are clearly talented. Really fun watch.

The Nanny revisited
majoq3 November 2021
It's The Nanny country version.

The unexpected job, the widow, the kids, the girlfriend. ... Nice music. Katherine Mc Phee sings very well.

To watch on a rainy day.

The Nanny Meets The Partridge Family
julia-8019826 March 2021
First thought, rehash of The Nanny. Then the kid who acts like a smarmy manager, second thought, Danny Partridge. I love Katherine McPhee but her character is like if Dolly Parton and Minnie Mouse had a baby. I love her singing voice, but couldn't she have learned a few guitar chords so it at least looked as if she was playing the damn thing? I gave it until the Lee-an Rimes episode before calling it quits. This show is definitely in the "life is too short" category. I think I'll go back an re-watch The Nanny. Come on, Netflix, you can do better.

It's ok but the lip syncing is distracting
jjmorri29 March 2021
It's fine, your classic Netflix family show, not amazing or Super clever but easy to watch but the fact that almost every lip sync of the musical number was just a bit off was super off putting.

Also I think Kathrine is an amazing singer, so stunning and a decent actress for a role like this but the Botox is out of hand and really effect her ability to do this role well because it really takes you out of it.

It could be so much better than it is
istara30 March 2021
Country Comfort features a very talented cast and an interesting concept that includes frequent musical performances - currently a popular theme in many shows, from Glee to Zoey's Incredible Playlist.

The problem is that it goes all out for schlock and schmaltz rather than trying to have any edge or layers of humour. It's syrup.

Compared to The Nanny, ostensibly a similar concept, it falls flat. (Ditzy glamorous brunette non-qualified nanny. Hot widower. Blonde Other Woman. Houseful of cute kids including precocious youngest girl. Etc). Many reviewers have described Country Comfort as "heartwarming" - but so is the Nanny. But The Nanny has Niles - a figure that Country Comfort desperately needs to save it from drowning in glurge.

There are also some particularly painful elements. The son lusting over the nanny is initially awkward, ultimately creepy. The guest star appearance by Leanne Rimes (Cibrian's real life wife - they even make an in-joke about this) is cringemaking. Not so much Rimes' performance but all the "Leann freaking Rimes" adulation leading up to it. The religiosity of the second episode is also execrable. I found myself wondering if I was watching Touched By An Angel at times.

Ultimately it does a disservice to Southern American folk, who are surely more intelligent, edgy, interesting and multifaceted than this.

Yeehaw Nanny
Little_C22 March 2021
This is the old sitcom The Nanny, just put on a horse farm and the different character trades smeared out over more kids. Luckely one kid and two adults save it, otherwise it wouldn't get a passing grade. Oh, and the singing.

And I know that due to covid a studio audience is out of the question, bit the laugh track urks me.

Good old days!
fatimahaishah19 March 2021
I loved this sitcom. It does exactly what it set out to do. Felt like a kid waiting for my sitcoms to air on TV once a week, but I got to do it all in one sitting. Is it cheesy, hell yeah, but this is what I grew up watching. So many fond memories this brings about. It's refreshing, funny, ridiculously unreal with amazing talent. I could watch this with my daughter. We both enjoyed it, and honestly, there aren't many things out there that's entertaining and satisfies both of us equally like this show. So much fun.

It is a Fun Fluff Way to Spend a Half Hour
nannyjo8 May 2021
Granted there is nothing earth shattering happening here but it is a fun fluffy show. The music is definitely the highlight of an episode. The only real harm is a bit of overacting pretty much by every character. Other than that it is an okay way to spend a half hour.

Oh wow this is just the best
zendatrim20 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I binge watched this. I loved it so cool.

If you like country and western and family story this is just the best. I really hope they do a season 2.

What is so good the lead can sing, Katharine McPhee. Amazing voice and the interaction with the other actors was really good. The little Chloe played by Pyper Braun, oh my goodness what a fab actress only 7 years old I wanted to take her home with me lol.

Makes such a change from violence and death, this is just a lovely story about a familiy grieving who find someone who helps them along the road to recovery and they learn to live again.

PLEASE give us a second season.

Cheesy but adorable
courtneyyounghans20 March 2021
This show is in line with the TGIF line up of the 90s it has a cute heartwarming feel coupled with some over acting and cheesy storylines. Going into it expecting this made it a fun quick watch. Only 6 stars because the acting was bad even for the bubbly family 90s era comedy it seemed to be modeled after

Just another Netflix family show!
elizabethdeann12 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The show was good but not great. The plot was boring. Bailey overreacted a lot. I didn't like it when Lily & her mom personally attacked Bailey for being late. The Leann Rimes episode was predictable. Summer drove me nuts. I didn't like that summer was just expecting a ring after 8 months of dating. Also summer tries way to hard. I especially don't like episode 6. There was a lot of talk about sex for a family show. The worst character by far was Boone. I hated watching Bailey go back & forth. The ending was underwhelming.

hafR3323 March 2021
It remembering me when I was a kid sitting in front of television, feel warm and fun. Everything in this movie feels great and heartwarming. Love the music, love the kids, love their chemistry. I watched all the episodes only 2 days and didn't skip any scene at all.

Great family entertainment
gwenvdbergh29 March 2021
So I heard about Country Comfort and thought I'd give it a try. I fell in love with these characters immediately! With everything going on in the world it's programs like these that makes you forget a little bit about your problems. I adore the cast, the singing is great and the humor too. Reminds me of good old famaly entertainment, series like FRIENDS and Full house. I cant wait for season 2!

Nice
atj-1932025 March 2021
It's actually pretty funny. It's an old format show, so the laugh track and type of format and comedy is all quite familiar. I will say tho, there's soooo much singing in it. I skipped it cause it was too cheesy, but it's there for y'all who enjoy it. I mean there's also some cheesy moments, but that's because of the format and style of the show. The character Cassidy is also poorly written, I think they wrote it in a way that makes u not like her...no offense to the actor but it's the character she played. They also made it too over dramatic with Bailey (main character). Like with how close everyone got and how much they liked her and how important she is...idk it seemed really over the top and just got annoying. But despite those, I still think the show is ok cause it does have some funny moments. I just personally skipped a few of the cliche cheesy scenes and the singing.
