- As Phoebe is searching for a new tradition to lift her holiday spirits, she realizes that it's not the traditions we cherish, but the people with whom we share them.
- It's the Christmas season, the favorite time of year for Phoebe Saunders, half owner/operator of Seeing Green Flower Shop along with her childhood best friend Laurie Danes. Phoebe is set in her traditions in all aspects of life, which makes this season potentially not as special when she learns that her favorite Christmas tradition, Candy Cane Lane--a street in her old neighborhood decorated by the residents--is not happening for the first time since she was a child; long-time organizer Louise McGraw is moving, and all the other residents are losing interest. Laurie sees this as an opportunity for Phoebe as she's felt Phoebe's traditions have stifled her life, preventing her from experiencing new things. In finding other things to fill the void, Phoebe meets veterinarian Eric Kelton. He has shut himself off from love since the recent demise of his last serious relationship. That first encounter between Phoebe and Eric leads to a second chance encounter, and a third, and many more. They are vaguely attracted to each other, but their chance encounters never seem to happen at the right time. Will the time ever be right? And will something special replace Phoebe's beloved Candy Candy Lane.—Huggo
- Since childhood, Candy Cane Lane has been Phoebe's (Beverley Mitchell) favorite Christmas tradition: her entire neighborhood is decorated for the holidays. But this Christmas, the neighborhood decides to skip the decorations, crushing her spirits. As Phoebe searches for a new tradition to cheer her up, she realizes that it's not the traditions we cherish, but the people with whom we share them. While preparing for her new tradition, Phoebe stumbles upon the final thing her Christmas was missing: love.—Keebler Christmas
- Widower veterinarian Eric Kelton waved over a year his assistant's urging to date again, except some public events, and frequently visits his aunt Maggie Webster -who took him in as young orphan- in the seniors center. Hastily picking up a plant as gift for her after hours, he meets first of several times the Seeing Green Flower shop keeper Phoebe Saunder, whose instant crush on him, encouraged by her business partner, is tempered by her wrong assumption he has a fiancee, which gets cleared-up as they meet again, mainly engaging in social affairs, as she needs to replace her obsessive dedication to the neighborhood tradition of Christmas decorations constituting a Candy Cane Lane, as the organizing mayor moves away and several neighbors wanted out.—KGF Vissers
