Good episode but weaker than the pilot.

It was a good episode, weird and unique like always. Yet, the Cyborg stuff felt very forced, they're forcing the character development on him, especially with the mugging scene because it was very predictable and coincidental.

But the other stuff was great especially Jane's and Larry's.

Dr. Tyme!!!

Dr. Tyme, they plucked out a minor Doom Patrol villain (he only officially fought them once) and did such a great, fun job with him. Not to mention that they actually successfully managed to adapt one of, if not the, weirdest, most high concept supervillain masks in comics.

As is par with the show, all the characters get to shine, especially Caulder, Negative Man, and Cyborg. Timothy Dalton delivers a nuanced award-level performance as we look at the reasons behind Caulder's actions. Negative Man's plotline is a poignantly tragic affair.

Back to the Absurd

This episode returns to the completely insane stuff, but still manages to continue/begin new emotional journeys for our characters. It ranges in feelings from funny to cute to gut-wrenching and more.

Tyme for the Doom Patrol to shine
gareth-754423 July 2020
This show is just fantastically weird. Amongst all the strange characters Cyborg seems out of place but he's a good contrast to the other characters as he's pretty much the only "normal" one of the team. Have to congratulate the series writers for the phenomenal job they're doing, there is so much to the Doom Patrol history with there being so many characters created between the mid sixties & 2019, I was initially disappointed that this show wasn't based on Gerard Way's version of the Doom Patrol but after the first episode on season one that disappointment dissappeared completely, having the show reflect the team as the original comic intended, as misfits trying to be heroes is pure genius given the other DC shows on the CW network. There are so many characters for the writers to use so hopefully at some point rather than just villains we'll get to see some heroes, keeping my fingers crossed for a cameo from The Metal Men, equally as weird & fantastic as the Doom Patrol.
