Kimiko watches another attack on how Kenji supposedly attacked an apartment building and then was killed by Stormfront. Frenchie joins her and says that it wasn't her fault, and then tries to kisses her. Kimiko shoves him away, and Frenchie apologizes and runs out.
In the Seven conference room, Homelander watches a newscast about Stormfront's actions. On TV, Stormfront rallies the people against Vought, claiming that they're doing nothing about terrorists. Homelander glares at the TV image, then flies to a cabin. He goes inside, and Madelyn Stillwell greets him. She says that she's missed him and offers him a glass of milk. Stillwell dips her fingers in the milk, then puts them in Homelander's milk. Homelander kisses her and Stillwell kisses him back.
Billy walks down the street and goes to a shrine for the 59. Grace is waiting for him, and talks about her dream of being up on a stage in front of an audience of the 59. Billy says that they hit a dead-end and apologizes, and Grace tells him that they can't have anonymous assassins wandering around because they could come after the President next. She gives Billy a folder with a picture of Liberty, a Supe from the 70s who was all over Rayner's server. There's an address for Liberty in North Carolina, and Billy tells Grace that they'll see what they can find about Liberty.
Before Billy goes, Grace gives him Becca's address. She warns that Becca is guarded by Vought and it won't be easy to get to her. When Billy points out that he failed his end of their deal, Grace tells him that she's just giving him the address. She admits that it's her fault they stopped searching for Becca, and Grace "aimed" Billy at Homelander. Grace says that she didn't know Becca was still alive, and wants one less person to feel guilty about. Billy takes the address and leaves.
Homelander and Stillwell watch the movie 'Taxi Driver', and Homelander complains that Kenji was his kill, not Stormfront's. He says that all of the Seven are weak links, and Stillwell comfort him. Homelander tells her that she wouldn't put up with the shit, and he misses how she would know them all back in line. Stillwell tells Homelander that the Seven is his team, and if they can't respect him or his effort, it might be time to "tear out the weeds" and start all over again.
"Stillwell" moans in pain and turns into "her" true Doppelganger male form. He apologizes, saying he can only hold a shape for so long. Homelander angrily tells him to change back to Stillwell, and Doppelganger does so. Stillwell then has Homelander put his head back in her lap, and Homelander hesitantly does so. "She" says that she loves him, and he's the most powerful man in the whole world and there's nothing he can't do.
The next day at the safehouse, Billy tells Milk his plan as he prepares to go to Becca. Milk warns that it's a black ops compound and Billy is dumber then he looks. He warns that Billy isn't coming back, but Billy insists that he is. Billy tells Milk that he's in charge while he's gone, and Milk angrily says that he doesn't want to be there and wonders when he'll get his family back. Billy tells him to find Liberty, and then Grace will help Milk the same way she helped Billy.
Billy knows about Frenchie being high for days, and he doesn't want Hughie with him because Hughie is a "weeper". When Billy offers his hand, Milk reluctantly takes it and Billy, reassured, goes. Milk looks at the dollhouse he's been building.
At the Tower, Starlight enters an elevator and Homelander joins her. Once the doors close, Homelander hits the stop button on the elevator and tells Starlight that Maeve begged him to save Starlight's life. He gave Starlight a second chance, and she failed him. Starlight feigns ignorance, and Homelander grabs her by the throat and slams her into the wall. He threatens to jam his fingers into her abdomen, and points out that she disobeyed his orders to kill Hughie. Starlight claims that Hughie broke her heart and she isn't "with" him, and tells Homelander to kill her if she won't execute anymore. She asks Homelander if she's lying, and he starts up the elevator, gets out on the next floor, and says that she isn't lying.
Black Noir goes to the surveillance room and stands over a tech. He hands her a piece of paper with the word "Butcher" written on it, and the tech Anika brings up footage of Billy from the boat. Anika runs a facial recognition search on Billy and the Boys, and is nervous when Black Noir sits silently next to her.
Annie meets Hughie in Central Park and thanks him for coming. As they walk, Hughie assures her that the bruises he got from her attack on her doesn't bother. He asks her to get the voice mail he left for her, and when Annie says that they made the world worse by releasing the information about Compound V, he tells her that isn't true. Hughie tells her that such things take time, and Annie wonders how much time.
Milk calls Hughie and he steps aside to take the call. He tells Hughie that they're heading to Raleigh, North Carolina, and Hughie tells Milk where he can pick him up. After hanging up, Hughie tells Annie that he has to do something and asks if he can call her later. He starts to walk away and notices Annie hasn't moved, and she says that she can't go back to the Tower. Annie finally says that she can't do it anymore and breaks into tears.
Hughie takes Annie to the rendezvous, and Milk says that Annie can't go with them. Annie says that she has a second cousin near Raleigh and she'll tell Vought that she's going there to visit. She then tells Hughie that it's a bad idea, and Hughie suggests to Milk that if they're looking for a Supe, they should have a Supe of their own. Hughie whispers to Milk that Annie needs it, and Milk figures that Hughie needs it.
A-Train finds a replacement speedster, Shockwave in the hallway, then goes to meet with Barrett to complain. She claims that Shockwave is just for the new Vought-for-Tots program. Homelander comes in and tells A-Train that he's out, and Barrett tries to reassure A-Train. A-Train doesn't believe her and says that he's not going. Homelander tells him that he can't run because of his heart condition, and says that it's nothing personal.
As the team drives to Raleigh, Annie turns on the radio and finally brings up a Billy Joel song instead of county & western. Hughie and Annie sing along, and Milk finally turns off the radio in disgust and says that it's no road trip. Milk insists that he's not their chaperone and keeps driving.

Cassandra talks about never letting a lover go.

Billy breaks into the Vought compound.
A drunk Frenchie goes to Cherie's apartment and kisses her. Frenchie then collapses on the couch, and says that he tried to kiss Kimiko to make her feel better. Cherie wonders if he was trying to make himself feel better, and Frenchie says that he just wanted to help. She figures that if Frenchie saves Kimiko, he can make amends for all the people he's hurt. Cherie advises Frenchie to leave Kimiko alone and just let her grieve, and Frenchie wonders what good grieving alone ever does.
The trio stop at a diner for supper, and news about protesters against the Compound V news plays on the TV. Annie notices Milk's OCD, and Annie talks about savoring the doughnut she's having. She reminisces about how her father took her to get doughnuts, and Milk talks about how his father took him to Baskin Robbins for samples no matter how much people complained about him blocking traffic. Milk says that now his father died, 16 years ago. Annie offers a toast to fathers and sugar, and Milk joins in.
As the trio leave, Milk notices Annie "dry wiping" and gives her some wet wipes. A truck slams into a car pulling out nearby, and Milk stops Annie from going over to help. He reminds her that they're low-key, and Hughie agrees with Milk. Annie reluctantly goes back to the car with them,
Becca looks out the windows of her house and notices that the door on her car is open. She goes out and checks it out, and Billy calls to her from the back seat asking if there's anywhere there without surveillance cameras. Becca gets some cigarettes, hold them up to the closest surveillance cameras, then drives away from the house.
After parking on a bridge, Becca and Billy get out. Becca hugs Billy then confirms that she's okay. She warns Billy that Homelander will kill him if he meets him again, and says that she threatened to kill herself unless Homelander spared Billy's life the last time they met. Billy vows to get her out, and saw Ryan's eyes glow, realizing that he's a Supe. Becca insists that she isn't raising their son that way, and suggests they sneak out on the garbage truck that comes by every morning. Billy agrees, and Becca tells him to wait there and she'll be back.
The trio get two rooms at a motel, and Hughie looks over at Annie and then says he'll share a room with Milk. Milk snores, and Annie texts Hughie to help her make a decision at the vending machine. Hughie joins her there and they have candy bars. They argue the merits of candy bars, and Annie asks about Milk's OCD. Hughie didn't realize Milk had OCD, and says that his wanting to control things he can't control is just like her.
Hughie and Annie discuss their bad habits, and Annie talks about how she walks around the Tower with Homelander waiting to kill her. She says that she doesn't feel that way at the moment, and they go to Annie's room to make love. Annie uses her powers to turn off the light, but says that she still wants to see Hughie.

Becca looks at the sleeping Ryan.
Billy waits on the bridge, and Becca drives back and kisses Billy. They undress and have sex in the car, and afterward Becca smokes as Billy holds her in his arms. Becca offers him a smoke and comments on Billy's beard, and says that she's been at the compound since she gave birth. She says that she's bearing up despite being a virtual prisoner, and what matters is that Ryan is happy. Becca assures Billy that he'll like Ryan, and Billy admits that he's not a good role model.
Becca asks how Billy has been, and he says that he's been okay and claims that he started a private security form. Billy admits that he thought Homelander had killed Becca so he's been hunting him for years. He says that he couldn't let Homelander get away from it, and he was nothing before Becca and she saved him. Billy tells Becca that he hasn't been there for her, and he's going to make it up for her until the day he dies.
The next day, the trio continue driving. Annie glances back at Hughie in the back seat, Hughie smiles back at her, and Milk notices. Hughie notices Milk noticing, but Milk says nothing.
Homelander and Maeve do an interview, and they say that the Seven will protect society against super-terrorists. The interviewer, Maria Menounos, asks if they knew about Compound V, and Homelander says that they didn't and blames it on Stillwell. Maria then talks about how 92% of Supes are Caucasian, and asks why Vought doesn't want diversity. Homelander tells her that the Seven have A-Train, Black Noir who hasn't identified with any race, and a gay hero: Maeve. He outs Maeve as a lesbian with a Hispanic girlfriend, and he's proud of her.
After the interview, Maeve asks Homelander what he did with Elena. Homelander says that Elena is fine, and he's outed Maeve for her own good. Maeve insists that she and Elena are just friends, but Homelander tells her that he did a little digging and discovered they were lovers. When Maeve admits that they had a relationship once, Homelander taunts her and Maeve says that she ended the relationship when she joined the Seven and met Homelander. He tells her to stop lying to her, and she admits that she and Elena are together. Maeve doesn't answer Homelander's question about whether she loves Elena, and Homelander wishes them the best of luck. He says that he's happy for them, whatever Maeve might believe, and walks off.
As Homelander goes, he sees a TV with a broadcast of Stormfront addressing a crowd of protestors. She sarcastically talks about Vought saving America, and Homelander scowls.
At the gathering, Stormfront continues to speak against Vought. Kimiko walks through the crowd and approaches Stormfront, as Stormfront preaches against foreigners and says that they can't count on Homelander to save them. Kimiko stops and remembers Stormfront killing Kenji, and as she advances on Stormfront, Frenchie grabs her arm and stops her. He tells her that she won't survive any battle she starts, and Stormfront flies off before Kimiko can do anything. As Stormfront soars off, Frenchie tells Kimiko that they should go home. Angry, Kimiko glares at Frenchie and goes off.
The trio go to the address and Hughie knocks at the door. Valerie answers the door, and Hughie asks if Liberty is there. Nervous, Valerie says that she isn't there and closes the door. Milk knocks at the door and Valerie opens the door, asking them to leave. She asks them to leave her alone, saying that she took "their" money and kept her mouth shut. Milk realizes that she thinks they're with Vought, assures her that she isn't, and says that she wants to learn what they can about Liberty.
Valerie tells them that they're fools and wasting their time. Milk tells her his story, saying his father was a small-time lawyer. Something happened between his family and Vought when he was kid, but Milk doesn't want to talk about it. He talks about his father never gave up even when Vought hired teams of lawyers, and eventually Milk found his father dead, hunched over his typewriter. Milk says that his fight got passed down to him, and he's going to make Vought pay.
After letting them in, Valerie wonders what dredging everything up after 48 years will do. Milk says that he plans to do what he can, and as a young girl nobody believed her when she accuses a white Supe of murder. Valerie describes how when she was 11, she was asleep in the back of her parents' car. Her brother Myron was driving, and Liberty blocked them on the road, had Myron get out, and said his car was involved in a robbery. Young Valerie woke up and say Liberty beat Myron and then crush his skull. Young Valerie eventually got out of the car and found Myron's body left on the hood of the car.
Valerie says that her folks told her that going to the police was pointless. A Vought man showed up and offered them $2,000 to keep her silence. She makes the trio promise not to say anything about how she talked. Hughie points out that no one has seen Liberty since 1979, and Valerie says that Stormfront is Liberty.
As they drive off, Hughie suggests that Valerie was young at the time and could be wrong. He points out that Stormfront would have to be 70 years old if she killed Myron in 1979. Milk and Annie suggest Stormfront killed Rayner because the latter was getting too close. Hughie tells Milk that his father was a real hero, and Milk says that his father was just a man with a disease. Milk worries that he'll pass it down to his children.
In the Seven conference room, Homelander watches derogatory memes on the screen, of him and the other Seven members. Many of them claim Stormfront is the real leader of the Seven. Angry, Homelander goes to the lounge and confronts Stormfront. He accuses her of undermining him and stealing his team, and says that it won't work. Homelander insists that he still counts in every demo that counts. Stormfront sarcastically congratulates him and notes that his need to be loved is kind of pathetic. Homelander's eyes glow, and Stormfront tells him to calm down.
Stormfront apologizes for pushing him too far, and says that she was just trying to help. Homelander tells her that no one is going to take the Seven away from him, and Stormfront points out that she is running circles around him despite all the money he spent on the "Save America" promotion. She warns that no one can win the entire country, and all he needs is five million people pissed. Stormfront says that anger sells, and she has soldiers while Homelander has fans.
The heroine tells Homelander that she thinks he's the best of them, and everything they should be but he just needs a little help connecting with his audience. Stormfront suggests that Homelander change with the times, and Homelander tells her that he doesn't need help connecting with his audience. Undeterred, Stormfront tells him that she's there anytime to help with anything.
Becca drives to the bridge by herself, and tells Billy that she's not leaving. She figures Billy doesn't want Ryan with them, and figures that if the three of them leave Billy will find a way to get rid of Ryan. Billy denies it, but Becca says that she knows Billy. Her husband admits that Vought won't let their "property" go, but Billy and Becca have a chance. Becca figures that Vought will give Ryan another "mother" and train him to be like Homelander. Billy says that Ryan is a "Supe freak" and then apologizes, and begs Becca to come with her.
His wife tells Billy that she never knew how to save Billy, and he was always one bad day from having a fight in a parking lot. Becca says that after Homelander raped her, she went to Vought instead of Billy because she was scared Billy would seek revenge on Homelander... and it wouldn't be good for anyone. She tells Billy that she can't bear to be on the same path of hate that he is, and goes back to her car.
Billy tells Becca that he's not leaving without her, and she says that he has to go. She reveals that she's alerted the Vought guards and they'll be there in sixty seconds, and Billy has to go. Crying, Becca says that she's sorry and drives off.
Black Noir returns to Anika, as she watches video of Billy breaking into the compound and giving a finger to the surveillance camera.
Hughie and Annie return to the city, and Annie thanks Hughie for letting her come. Annie finally says that they can't go somewhere together again. She explains that they can't afford to let their guard down. Annie kisses Hughie, says goodbye, and walks off.

Gianna tells the interviewer that the secret to a great relationship is to be willing to do anything for one's man. She says that she's a feminist but also sexual, and doesn't see that as contradictory. Carol thanks Gianna for coming in as Deep looks on. Once Gianna goes, Deep tells Carol that Gianna is the one. Carol tells him that Cassandra is the one and Deep's future wife. The Supe doesn't believe it, and Carol tells him that he's choosing Cassandra. Carol says that the marriage is about rehabilitating Deep's image and getting him back in the Seven.
Homelander returns to the cabin, and Doppelganger posing as Stillwell greets him. She goes through the same greeting as before, then asks if Homelander would like her as someone else. Homelander shoves her away, and says that he doesn't need anyone but himself.
Doppelganger takes on the form of Homelander, asks if Homelander likes what he sees, and invites him to have sex with "himself". The shapeshifter puts his hand on Homelander's chest, and says that he'll suck his cock and Homelander can look into his "own" eyes. Doppelganger says that everyone loves Homelander, and their love is his strength.
Homelander tells Doppelganger that he's pathetic, lifts him up by the head, and says that he doesn't need anyone. He breaks Doppelganger's neck and drops him to the floor, and looks down at the corpse.
