Good enough
PennyReviews30 March 2020
" Tell me what you saw " had its flaws, but, overall, it was solid.

The drama had some interesting cases to present. Especially the first ones were pretty emotional and intense. The main case was also unexpected and had a nice mystery. The characters, as well, were explored in-depth and had strong personalities. The performances were perfect, as expected, but especially the leading lady was a delight. Finally, the atmosphere of the drama was perfect, with enough gore and action to keep things interesting, and a dark mood that feated the story well.

However, the drama had some problems with the execution and the plot. The main plot line was useless after the first episodes and there were some idiotic plot twists that didn't make sense and didn't suit the drama.

But, overall, it was enjoyable, so seven out of ten.

Strong series until fizzle
AJ_McAninch30 March 2020
Jang Hyuk is a brilliant actor and one of my favorites. The rest of the cast was also good, writing was until last episodes, and the series worked well for me until the last few episodes when there was so much violence it felt way over the top. Then there were repeated scenes like they were running out of steam. And, seriously, a cop who holds a gun on a really bad guy repeatedly yet never pulls the trigger. At any rate, mostly a good series with the too-frequent series issues of not being able to remain great until the end.

Engrossing, Really well made !!

You will get hooked from the start as this is a followup of the major incident 5 years ago. The pacing seems a bit hastened but the you won't lose any interest as the plot is littered with reveals which you don't expect. It is on par with Signal. The lead is perfect the supporting cast does a really good job. The antagonist doesn't seem upto mark with buildup he has but he manages. The setting is somber, dark, sometimes really dark and is really good, it does a good job of hooking you up , you won't mind some cliches which pop up in middle. The chemistry is OK but you won't be looking at that between the lead. The lead actor steal every scene he is in and he never disappoints some of the other members may. What I am surprised is why this show has not gained enough traction as some others have. I saw two episodes of The VOICE and I stopped watching it because of the screenplay but this series has doesn't suffer that. You won't regret watching this series because you won't feel the time pass. Most of the episodes cross the 1 hr mark but are still worth it. There is some minor hiccup in the middle but you won't mind as it passes. This is the best thriller series from Korea that I have watched.

Entertaining
anavensaint16 June 2020
The impression of the title and released poster of this drama first caught my attention. Aside from Jang Hyuk's casting, investigative series is quite fun to watch. So I had high hope that this would give me rides of hurly-burly.

Well, this drama is not at best of my expectation, however, it never lets me go. You can expect layers of villains that hold grip the viewers to satisfy their curiosity. The dark vibes, the brutality, and gruesomeness of the killing method are linked to the thrilling elements. I say, I enjoyed the first episode to eight, quite emotional and intense, but after that, I feel like it started going downhill.

The story is heavy, but it seemed something was missing. I find some repeated scenes like running out of steam, and some storytelling needlessly convoluted. Character's development of the main two leads is reliable, while some are just plainly flat and overdone. Acting-wise is good, but not that superb. The plot twist doesn't surprise me since my guess was right.

Is this drama worth watching? of course, I'm just telling it's still entertaining.

good overall

Warning: Spoilers
I was enjoying the drama until nearly the end! About the first 5 episode was the best since the main male character is charismatic, smartly logical and knowledgable. The whole story revealed the whole personality of each member in the team step by step and pretty logical, too. But at some last episodes, the main investigator seems to be outsmart a bit because he would know right away the fact without enough infomations. It seems not logical and a bit cringe but acceptable. The relationship of two main characters is a bit complicated. Most of the characters have their own personalities which are realistic ( they have their good and bad sides). This is what I would like to thank both the actor(s)/actress(es) and the director. Most of the Korean Dramas always have someone whose personality is too good to be true. The drama also found the way to talk about the recent elephan(s) in Korea which everybody knows about, but couldn't do anything except just let it be.

What I like and What I don't like. This review from someone who watched the whole series

Warning: Spoilers
What I like and What I don't like. This review from someone who watched the whole series

What I like :

1- The main idea is creative and new. 2- The police team are talented charismatic actors. 3- when they almost killed the first person who supposed to be the serial killer..the idea that he manipulated other people to kill was creative then I imagined someone like Charles manson and this was good because it is not the traditional serial killer plot. 4- the main actress is loveable enough to continue watching her journey.

What I don't like :

1- Explaing what going on vocally.. Like assuming that viewers are stupid so we have to explain it in a ridiculous way For example : when Oh Hyun-Jae was in front of kang dong shik house in the woods chasing him.. Before he entered the house he explained vocally what's going on...really?! Shouldn't he be silent in this situation.

2- When kang dong shik went to meet cha soo young at police station and insisted to see the office that was so obvious that I thought the writers want to distract me and make her friend suspicious and when he smiled to her when she dropped her coins...all of this made the final reveal not shocking AT ALL.

3- I really love Jang Hyuk.. But I think this is the directior's fault that he acted badly and way over the top. When he took off his glasses and looked directly to the camera in episode 15 really!!! breaking the fourth wall was just "Absurd".

4- Oh Hyun-Jae was teaching kids about crime and telling kids.. You wil catch crimals if you think like them... Kids!! Another ridiculous Coincidence.

5- At least after all this suffering I should see the serial killer in court.. I should see him die after killing all those people.!!! I think We needed a strong closure.

6- The last ridiculous monolog about the will power to be good is "too educational".

*** I would recommend this series if you are just a Cynical person who can watch a whole series without a real emotional and warm connection between the main actors. Just action without artistic depth.

It's okay.

Warning: Spoilers
Another awesome performance from Jang Hyuk. Another versatile actor!

He is the former criminal profiler/ Det. Oh Hyun Jae but listen to the police scanner. Now lives in seclusion blind & paraplegic.

The FL rookie police officer/Cha who has a photographic memory.

There are a few factors that is interesting in this suspense drama.

1. How did OHJ can hear every details that goes on everywhere. What kind of advanced wiretapping, where radio & mobil signal is unreachable but ear piece works.

2. This is not the only Kdrama where police siren is on, loud but no cars give way to the incoming police cars. They dont move to the side & they honk at the police cars.

3. After the 6th episode, you found out that the criminal profiler is not blind or paraplegic! It's just to trap the culprit! Since then day or night, he wears dark sunglasses & thick black overcoat! His signature look! He is cool & drama! He can fight!

4. He joins the police force again when it was showed he helped the investigative team.

5. The witness that everybody is looking for after he has given his statement, he should be protected but he's not.

6. Det. Cha is timid but brave, unfortunately she is weak, she can't really fight back & as an investigative officer, they chase perp all the time, she couldn't really run until the last episode. She becomes tough, it doesn't feel real.

7. Team leader Hwang is cool! She is a woman of few words. Her action does speaks louder! She can fight!

She wants to kill the murderer first but when the opportunity presents itself, she Froze due to her trauma! Then she is a victim again.

8. It's incredible that the bad superintendent has been promoted to second director chief, why the promotion when he does nothing? The officers below him that do the work, gets nothing! All the betrayal, cover-up & manipulation, he is still unsuccessful.

9. Eventhough all sort of ends well, just feel something missing. Its a good drama but not awesome as expected.

10. There are too many repeated scenes, vocal explanation, looking at the camera, lack of depth in some, unexplained interaction in some characters, absurd scenes in some.

Intriguing plot from episodes 1 through 9, then common sense went free falling.
voyetra22 March 2020
Somewhat exaggerated photographic memory, but combined with intriguing criminal analysis makes it highly addictive from the beginning. For reasons, perhaps due to the need to drag on the story for a 16-episode series, common sense went free falling from around episode 10.

A normally busy road, suddenly becomes deserted where a senior cop lay unconscious from day till night at a traffic junction with a crashed car, a gun and nobody noticed. The serial killer seemed all powerful, he could access any office he wants, even in a police station there were gunshots and all the cops just watched a crime being committed and did nothing, there were also no security cameras to identify the perpetrator.

Poor editing or story writing ?

Bad police drama
Park_Min10 June 2023
This drama was hands down the worst portrayal of police force I've ever seen. They were unbelievably bad at their job, even for 'police' drama standards. This is the most important aspect the drama needed to nail but failed to do so and resulted in a lukewarm detective/thriller drama. Both Soo Young's backstory and the main villain were lame and disappointing. The only redeeming quality was its cast, specifically the main cast, other than that the drama is straight up a failure. Not even Jang Hyuk contribution helped it. Speaking of which, Jang Hyuk looking like professor Snape in the poster lol.

Absurd hanging
lmerana29 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
At the end, the guy was hanging for a very long time but has no marks of it when released. Also, the dialogues took so long while the villain was hanging that it appeared to be comedic than thrilling. They also kept on catching him but always escaped in the moat absurd way. I think the woman cop was beaten so many times I couldn't count any more. I watched until episode 8 and then skipped to the final. Jang Hyuk voice makes me sleepy and at the same time it is also creepy.

This plot twists are simply absurd
votrdessin9 April 2020
This series is a mix of drama, absurdity, lack of logic and plot twists are just ridiculous. There are a lot of cool Korean detectives with the original storyline. But this one mixed up too many plots, unnecessary pathos and copied from US detectives. 5 points for a stunning lady detective hairstyle only :)
