The last time we saw Michael Myers terrorizing Jamie Lee Curtis as her iconic "final girl" Laurie Strode was in the highly polarizing 2022 film Halloween Ends, a conclusion to the reboot trilogy started in 2018 from director David Gordon Green.
Halloween Ends seemingly wraps up the storylines of Laurie and Michael for good. Laurie and the townspeople of Haddonfield literally put his body in an industrial shredder and viewers are privy to a grisly shot of his innards getting torn apart inside. He's dead and gone. At least for now. As for Laurie, she's last seen writing her memoir and reconciling with her love interest, Deputy Frank Hawkins.
But in a world where Jason Voorhees can go to space, I don't think we can ever safely say that Michael Myers won't be back somehow someday. And Curtis appears to agree.

The Halloween franchise has been terrifying audiences since Michael Myers’ masked menace was brought to the big screen in John Carpenter’s 1978 classic. Four decades, 13 films, and a laundry list of rehashings, reboots, and remakes later, the franchise has become a slasher staple.

In the spirit of Spooktober – here’s a definitive ranking of all thirteen Halloween movies — from grisly goofs to the horrifying. Let’s slice through the clutter and get to the bloody best.
13. Halloween: Resurrection (2002)
Yeah, this is the lowest point without contention. Halloween: Resurrection sees Michael Myers in a reality TV setting, featuring Busta Rhymes’ kung-fu moves. This installment, directed by Rick Rosenthal (also responsible for Halloween II), attempts a “reality-tv-gone-wrong” trope that falls short on both scares and coherence. Even fans who appreciate so-bad-it’s-good films will not find something worthy of their time.

Instead of going one-on-one in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, a multi-team battle would be fun. We will be discussing Gohan’s branching paths in the following guide, where Resurrection F holds something interesting for the fans.
Though Gohan is better off with his blue gi or the Piccolo outfit, he can still fight with a tracksuit on. It is lovely to see it in the game too during one of its Episode Battles. Now let’s take a look at the alternate story paths of the character.
How Many Branching Paths Does Gohan’s Story Have? Gohan will go up against a Frieza Force soldier before confronting Frieza.
There are multiple Branching Paths to Gohan’s story, where The Strongest Warrior path is the most exciting one. Players will be up against a Frieza Force Soldier and then Frieza himself.

"Stargate" was a tweener of a box office hit. Directed by Roland Emmerich from a screenplay he wrote with Dean Devlin, the film made $197 million globally on a budget of $55 million in 1994, which is very good but not the kind of runaway smash that automatically gets a sequel. Though Emmerich and Devlin had loose plans for a trilogy, several things got in the way, namely "Independence Day" and the opportunity to spend three times the budget of "Stargate" on a "Godzilla" remake and star-studded disaster movies. Did they choose wisely?
Fans of "Stargate Sg-1," the television spin-off that aired for five seasons on Showtime before moving over the SyFy for another five seasons, would emphatically state "No." Emmerich and Devlin might've had nothing to do with the series, but its dedicated fanbase didn't care. They got caught up in the galaxy-traversing exploits of Richard Dean Anderson and his Sg-1 crew,...

Tim Burton’s Batman films are still widely regarded as groundbreaking and have significantly shaped modern comic book movies.
Although Burton directed only two films—Batman (1989) and Batman Returns (1992)—before being replaced by Joel Schumacher due to creative differences with the studio, his influence endures. Fans continue to celebrate Burton’s Batman movies as cinematic masterpieces.
Recently, that legacy was expanded with the release of Batman: Resurrection, a novel set between Burton’s two films. Written by New York Times bestselling author John Jackson Miller, the book serves as a direct sequel to the 1989 movie, continuing the story of Michael Keaton’s Batman.
If you thought that was the last we’d see of Burton’s Batman universe, there’s more exciting news—Miller has confirmed he’s working on a follow-up novel, slated for release around this time next year!

There will be spoilers for "Batman: Resurrection" in this article.
One of the great tragedies of the Michael Keaton and Tim Burton collaboration on "Batman" was that it didn't last long enough. We only saw a few of the great villains and characters from the Batman rogues' gallery represented, with some hints of what might have come if the franchise continued under Burton's eye. We were robbed of a great Billy Dee Williams performance as Two-Face, which would have been legendary as his take on Harvey Dent was grounded and fascinating (though he would end up reprising the role in "The Lego Batman Movie").
Tim Burton's take on the Penguin -- played by Danny DeVito -- was so far outside of what we might have expected that it was a revelation. Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman was legendary, and Jack Nicholson...

New York-based Obluda Films has boarded the long-in-production sci-fi detective film “Resurrection,” being directed by mainland Chinese auteur Bi Gan.
Obluda will join as co-producer and co-financier of the picture that counts mainland pop star-turned-leading actor Jackson Yee and Taiwan’s Shu Qi, as the lead cast. Another New York-based indie producer Jonathan Daniel Brown, of Party Crasher Films, will also join the partnership for the upcoming film.
After completing part of its shooting schedule, “Resurrection” is set to resume filming in the fourth quarter of this year. Paris-based Les Films du Losange recently came on board for international sales and distribution.
“Resurrection” tells the story of a woman whose consciousness enters an eternal time zone during a medical procedure. Trapped in a dreamscape, she encounters an android corpse and attempts to awaken it by recounting stories. As the android traverses these stories, its senses begin to awaken, driving a surreal journey of self-discovery.

Mel Gibson is in Europe scouting locations for a sequel to his 2004 biblical blockbuster “The Passion of the Christ” — which could mean that the film’s long-gestating followup is actually going to get made.
Earlier this week Gibson reportedly toured Malta with a production team and subsequently arrived in the Southern Italian region of Puglia where he visited various rural locations, including the ancient towns of Ginosa, Gravina Laterza and Altamura, Puglia Film Commission director Antonio Parente said.
“All we can confirm is they were scouting locations recently,” Gibson’s publicist, Alan Nierob, told Variety in an email, adding that there is “not a lot to discuss at this early stage.”
Nierob also specified that any casting details of the “Passion of the Christ” sequel, titled “Passion of the Christ: Resurrection,” are premature.
Gibson has reportedly been working for years on the sequel’s script with “Braveheart” screenwriter Randall Wallace,...

Fede Alvarez's Alien: Romulus contains quite a few call-backs to Ridley Scott's original masterpiece and James Cameron's sequel, but - somewhat controversially - it also reintroduces a concept from one of the less popular movies in the franchise, Alien: Resurrection.
Towards the end of the film, a pregnant and dying Kay (Isabela Merced) injects herself with the Rook android's Prometheus 5 formula to keep herself alive. Though she does survive (for a while), this ultimately results in her giving birth to a monstrous human/alien hybrid that kills its own mother almost immediately.
Named "The Offspring" in the credits, this rather terrifying creature does look a lot better than the albino monstrosity from Resurrection, but introducing another hybrid did result in some backlash, and for a lot of fans, the decision tarnished the movie’s final act.
Now, concept artist Dane Hallett has unveiled another alternate design for the Offspring,...

When discussing the story of “The Listeners,” both the novel by Jordan Tannahill and now the BBC Studios series from Janicza Bravo, the emphasis must be placed on the emotional rather than the literal. Yes, the premise centers on a woman who begins hearing a humming sound that nobody else can, but it’s also about the way isolation can create the conditions for otherwise ordinary people to become vulnerable to finding answers in dark places. Some completely fall down a rabbit hole of conspiracies, leaving those who loved them wondering what even happened to the person they thought they knew. For all the ways we believe ourselves to be fully rational and incapable of falling prey to this, “The Listeners” calls this into question in unsettling fashion.
These thorny yet critical ideas are expressed through the sharp eye of Bravo who, just as she did in the underrated “Lemon” and the brilliant “Zola,...

The final chapter of Dragon Ball was released to the world on May 23, 1995, and its creator, Akira Toriyama, left everything to the staff at Toei Animation if they wanted to continue from the ending.
Sure, he did draw some character designs for Dragon Ball Gt, but he was in no way involved with the scriptwriting. As the years went by, he was more into writing one-shots and drawing sketches for video games, but he stuck by his decision not to return to Dragon Ball ever again.

Looking for something to scare your socks off? Here’s our picks of the best horror films on Disney Plus UK.
There’s something primal and exciting about experiencing real fear in a safe place, such as your sofa. That’s the beauty of horror films, but I think you’ll agree that it can be tricky finding a really good one. After all, fear is subjective and there’s a lot of less-than-great scary films out there, which is why we felt this list was a pretty important one.
If you feel like you’ve exhausted the libraries of other streaming services, Disney+ has a surprisingly wide range of horror films in its catalogue, and we’ve picked some excellent suggestions for you. We’ve got ghosts, cannibals, mutants, zombies and the occasional so-bad-it’s-actually-good film here. Enjoy!

Despite its ups and downs, I’ve always respected the Alien franchise for daring to try something new with every new entry. From Vietnam allegories to reimagining Chariots of the Gods as a Lovecraftian origin story for the Xenomorphs, the series challenges the very concept of genre as it explores what might go wrong when humanity comes into contact with a truly perfect organism.
And with Fede Alvarez’s Alien: Romulus paying homage to the most underrated movie in the franchise during its horrific final act, today I’d like to look back on Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s unfairly maligned Alien: Resurrection and dive into why I think this oddball gem of a film deserves more love.

Alien: Romulus contains quite a few call-backs and nods to Ridley Scott's original masterpiece and James Cameron's sequel, but it also reintroduces a much-maligned concept from Alien: Resurrection.
Towards the end of the movie, a pregnant and dying Kay injects herself with the Prometheus 5 formula to keep herself alive. This results in her giving birth to a human/alien hybrid.
Named "The Offspring" in the credits, this rather terrifying creature does look a lot better than the albino monstrosity from Resurrection, but taking inspiration from one of the least popular movies in the franchise by introducing another hybrid was a bold choice that not everyone has got on board with.
While speaking to THR, director Fede Alvarez revealed that the studio did initially have some reservations.
"They did [push back] at the beginning [with regard to the Offspring], but not because they didn’t like it. They just thought, 'Is it too much? Do we really have to go there?...

Spoiler Alert: This article discusses plot points, including the ending of “Alien: Romulus,” now playing in theaters.
When Fede Álvarez decided to make “Alien: Romulus,” he knew from the outset that he wanted to honor not just “Alien” and Aliens,” the most acclaimed and popular films in the series, but its entire mythology. “I was like, ‘we have to embrace them all’,” he tells Variety.
Even so, he built a pivotal part of the “Romulus” story around a character who died in the original movie: Ash, the synthetic human played by the late Ian Holm with chilling obedience to the franchise’s capitalistic overlords, the Weyland-Yutani Corporation. After “Alien 3” and “Alien vs. Predator” expanded the life cycle of “Aliens” android Bishop (Lance Henriksen), and Michael Fassbender’s David led both of the prequels, Álvarez says that Holm’s role (or at least his visage) was due for resurrection.

[Editor’s Note: This list was originally published in May 2017. It has since been updated to coincide with the release of “Alien: Romulus.”]
Very few film franchises in history have the pedigree that “Alien” can lay claim to. The 20th Century Fox science fiction saga has evolved over the decades from claustrophobic horror to bloody action and back again, and it’s managed that transition by producing two undeniable classics. First is Ridley Scott’s 1979 original, “Alien,” which made Sigourney Weaver an iconic final girl and became the flawless masterpiece all sci-fi horror attempts will inevitably be compared to. Then came James Cameron’s 1986 “Aliens,” which made Weaver an iconic action hero and became one of the most beloved and imitated action movies ever made.
With such a heavyweight one-two opening punch, the “Alien” franchise really had nowhere to go but down. But that hasn’t stopped the powers that be from plugging along, trying to create a follow-up that would recapture the magic that Cameron and Scott created. There was...

One of the greatest franchises of all time, Alien has found its way to immortality through its unique ability to evolve. Few franchises can bounce around genres quite like Alien. Additionally, each director brings their own flavor to the conversation. Fede Álvarez joins a club that features Ridley Scott, James Cameron, and David Fincher as he hopes to reignite love in the iconic series. Today, FandomWire is ranking the films in the franchise, including Alien: Romulus, which releases this week.

“Whoever wins, we lose,” read the famous tagline for Alien vs. Predator.
Ask most critics in 2004, and they would insist that we did indeed lose. “The title alone betrays an entire Hollywood mindset of rehash, reheat, recombine. Re-please,” wrote Jessica Winter of Time Out. “A movie based on a video game based on two entirely separate sci-fi horror series—so whatever was interesting in the originals has long been bred out, like double-jointedness,” lamented Ty Burr of the Boston Globe.
These samples captured the general tenor of the critical response, which decried AvP as an unholy diluting of two venerable franchises, a mess that no one in their right mind would want. According to these critics, AvP could appeal to no one who hadn’t read the original Dark Horse comic books, played the video games, or watched and re-watched the xenomorph tease at the end of Predator 2.
Of course the critics were wrong.

It appears that Michael C. Hall isn’t done with the Dexter IP, but fans surely are. During the ongoing San Diego Comic-Con, Hall appeared at the Dexter: Original Sin panel and surprised fans with the announcement of a new sequel series. The newly announced Dexter: Resurrection is reportedly a sequel to New Blood, which was released in 2021 as a sequel to the original show.

New Blood didn’t do a great job in terms of saving the dumpster fire finale of the original series, but it did a few things right in terms of course correction. Moreover, the show ended with the death of Hall’s main character, which means Resurrection may go out of its way to bring back Dexter Morgan from the dead.

Showtime’s Dexter returned to San Diego Comic-Con on Friday night with a very special guest in tow, Michael C. Hall.
It’s not a Dexter Con without Dexter, and this evening there were two in attendance: Hall and Patrick Gibson, the latter of who plays the younger version of the former’s character in the prequel series Dexter: Original Sin. Hall serves as narrator of the 90s-set series, which will premiere in December.
Additionally, Hall will star in Dexter: Resurrection, a new series that is set in present day and is a followup to the 2021 Dexter: New Blood. It will launch in summer 2025.
“It’s pretty heady,” said Hall, after receiving a standing ovation in Ballroom 20. He’s also an EP on both series. “I’m having flashbacks of the first time I came to Comic-Con. We were in this hall. That was … 75 years ago? It’s amazing to still be alive.

From the opening of Yamamoto Satsuo’s first entry in the Shinobi series, Band of Assassins, we’re thrust into a tangled web of battling clans, all vying to be the first to kill bloodthirsty warlord Oda Nobunaga (Wakayama Tomisaburô). Even within individual factions, duplicity reigns supreme, with all the double crosses and dual identities obfuscating and complicating the motives of every virtually every major character. The film tends toward convolution through the flurry of personal and clan names constantly being introduced, but this tactic of disorientation is ultimately a deliberate and effective one that’s very much in line with the tactics deployed by its ninjas.
Among all these embittered and embattled clans is Ishikawa Goemon (Raizo Ichikawa), a highly skilled young ninja looking to quickly rise through the ranks. Like many of the lower-level ninjas and samurai in Band of Assassins, he, too, falls victim to the Machiavellian...

Always the upbeat one, Reeves expressed his excitement at the idea of seeing Bullock again on screen. “We’d freakin’ knock it out of the park,” he declared confidently. And we have no doubt that he’s right—these two have a unique energy together that can’t be replicated.

It’s almost hard to imagine anyone else doing Bill Cutting in place of the legendary Daniel Day-Lewis in Gangs of New York, or Tim Robbins’ Andy Dufresne in The Shawshank Redemption but Hollywood veteran Tom Hanks came pretty close to playing several iconic characters including Cutting and Dufresne. The actor was also in negotiation to play one of Keanu Reeves’ roles.
Tom Hanks and Tyler Hoechlin in Road to Perdition
Of course, it’s not John Wick, it would have been kind of weird seeing Hanks as John Wick, as for fans, Reeves was immersed in the character and he is now hard to replace. But Hanks almost booked the slot of the 1994 hit action thriller, Speed. But the role eventually went to the John Wick star.

Brendan Fraser’s The Mummy is celebrating its 25th birthday, with the first part being released in 1999. Since then, the film has become part of a series, with the release of The Mummy Returns and The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. Three movies were not enough for some fans, however, as many have been begging for more additions to the story, even though the last part was released more than ten years ago.
Brendan Fraser as Rick O’Connell
It would seem that their prayers have been heard, as the director of the first two films and the producer of the third, Stephen Sommers, revealed his thoughts on coming back for another movie.

Interestingly enough, the director is completely open to the idea. He does have one condition though.

Since 1980, horror and sci fi fans have loved being scared by the Xenomorph and the soulless Weyland-Yutani corporation that wants to study it. Nearly everyone has controversial takes on various films in the franchise: "Prometheus" and Assembly Cut "Alien 3" fans, rise up. "Alien: Covenant" fans, look... we respect you, but that movie makes it tough. But no matter where you land, we're all in love with Ridley Scott's original "Alien." It's a love that's seen high school performances turn into breakout hits, and April 26th (chosen for the Lv-426 colony in "Aliens") become a fandom holiday.
We're always looking for more to explore from the franchise, although sometimes that desire turns into a be-careful-what-you-wish-for "Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem" situation. Despite the valleys of the "Alien" franchise, we're still hoping for the best from the upcoming "Alien: Romulus" and Noah Hawley's forthcoming TV series from FX. Meanwhile, we...

Look what’s come hopping down the bunny trail just in time for the holiday weekend, Easter Bloody Easter, the latest in the never-ending line of holiday horrors. We’ve already had our share of Easter-themed films from Faster Eater Bunny, Kill! Kill! and Easter Holocaust to Resurrection. But when it comes to low-budget horror, there’s no such thing as too many films on a subject, so what’s one more?
This one opens with a couple going at it in a church storeroom, “I want you to fuck me like some muffin top Jesus!”, being killed by a glowing-eyed rabbit that transforms into a glowing-eyed monster complete with Easter basket.
A week later Jeanie wakes up in her yard and tries to...
