Dropping just hours after the project was announced, the teaser trailer has arrived for the J.J. Abrams-produced "10 Cloverfield Lane," something of a spin-off or sister film to the 2008 creature feature "Cloverfield". Like that film, the campaign here is playing up the mystery angle and that starts with this trailer which is executed brilliantly and is certainly the first great trailer of 2016 so far.
Starting out as what looks like a father and his two adult children trying to kill time together at home, the situation grows increasingly stranger and darker as the backing music of the original version of "I Think We're Alone Now" decelerates and the level of dread increases. Dan Trachtenberg ("Portal: No Escape") helms the film which stars John Goodman, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and John Gallagher, Jr. and is slated to open March 11th.

There was a time in the 1980s when Tiffany was the it girl. At just 16 years old, she scored back-to-back #1 hits: I Think We're Alone Now and Could've Been. The era of big hair and teen pop anthems is gone, and Tiffany's life has moved on. Her son, Elijah, has just graduated from college. She owns Tiffany's Boutique in Nashville. But she's still making music. "I have a new album coming out," she tells People. "It's called A Million Miles, and it's available for preorder now." Look at Us, bringing people together! Jessica Chastain and '80s pop star Tiffany formed a mutual admiration society via Twitter on Tuesday, March 10, after Us Weekly observed some similarities between Chastain's Paris Fashion Week style and Tiffany's totally radical look of yesteryear. As previously noted, the A Most Violent Year actress, 37, showed up at the Saint Laurent show on Monday, March 9, with her gorgeous red locks in voluminous waves, a la the "I Think We're Alone Now" singer circa 1987. Tiffany, 43, caught wind of [...]...

Pre-credit sequence. When we left things, Jon was confused. Upon returning to camp? Jaclyn is confused, going so far as to suggest that Alec might have voted for himself. Amidst this disarray, Natalie has decided that she's going to pretend that she blew the communication and thought she was part of the block voting Alec, not part of the Keith block. Baylor is impressed with Natalie's acting skills and Jon has accepted Natalie's line about not being talked to enough. The worry, at least for Jon, is that Keith could win Immunities and screw things up. The next morning, Natalie makes it clear to Keith that she saved him and he needs to stick with her and with Missy and Baylor. The plan is to target Jon. Again. The quality of mercy is not sprained. Reward time. It's a very elaborate set-up, perhaps an apology for last week's lame challenges.

Tim Sommer, rock raconteur extraordinaire, recently wrote a playlist for Tim Broun's blog Stupefaction. (#1 choice shown above.) Mr. Sommer has lately been writing a daily column in The Brooklyn Bugle (motto: "On the Web because paper is expensive") that immediately became the one thing that I read every day, just so I can enjoy his combination of cultural erudition and lunatic whimsy. In one of his Bugle columns he wrote about making the list. And in that article he posited other approaches/lists that I found myself wishing he had made as well. But he's undoubtedly got better things to do with his time. I apparently do not, however (okay, I do, I just have poor impulse control), and made my own lists based on his criteria.
And here they are. I could have gone thirty deep on each of these lists just as he did on Stupefaction (well, maybe...

She did it! The 16-year-old from New Zealand did it. "Royals" is so popular on the radio that it has dethroned Miley's naked breakup anthem. Lorde is the youngest artist to have a No. 1 since 1987 (that was Tiffany, with "I Think We're Alone Now"). Anyway, celebrate by not throwing your hands up in the air and/or not caring at all. It is what Lorde would want.

Giovanni Ribisi and Seth MacFarlane proved that they worked together well on Ted, the actor playing the creepy, Ted-obsessed dad who enjoys dancing to Tiffany's "I Think We're Alone Now," and hopefully they'll be able to bring that same connection to MacFarlane's A Million Ways To Die In The West. Deadline has learned that Ribisi is the latest actor to join the cast of the new comedy western, which is already set to star Charlize Theron, Amanda Seyfried and MacFarlane in his first live-action starring role. Written by the director and co-writers Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild, the story centers on a weak-willed sheep farmer named Albert (MacFarlane) who is dumped by his girlfriend (Seyfried) after chickening out of a duel. Leaving town on a mission to become a man and when back her heart, he meets the wife of an outlaw (Theron) who teaches him how to shoot.

"What Not To Wear" is giving Tiffany -- of "I Think We're Alone Now" fame -- a makeover, and HuffPost TV has the exclusive first look at the episode.
In the Season 10 premiere of TLC's "What Not To Wear" (Thurs., Jan. 3 at 10 p.m. Est), Stacy London and Clinton Kelly will guide the '80s pop star -- who once made jean jackets a fashion staple -- through a much-needed change.
As she tells Stacy and Clinton in the exclusive clip above, Tiffany nominated herself for "What Not To Wear" and will spend her own money on the new clothes. "My friends and my family have brought it to my attention that I dress in things that are a little too big for me, but we'll talk about my issues later," Tiffany says with a laugh.
Throughout Season 10, Stacy and Clinton will makeover more celebrities like Nicole Eggert, Tina Yothers and Shannon Elizabeth.

Tiffany has said that today's young stars are given more "freedom" than she and fellow former teen idol Debbie Gibson had in the 1980s. The 'I Think We're Alone Now' musician said that she is glad artists like Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez are given more of a chance to mature as they grow older, but cautioned that they shouldn't be too quick to grow up. "They have a lot more freedom nowadays. I think they have more longevity as well," Tiffany told Parade. "The transition from young teen start to adult is getting easier because I think we're just expecting them to make that transition." Tiffany continued: "I also think that they're in an even more adult world now. Deborah [Gibson] and I could never be in a club at 16. Partying in a club was just not acceptable. Dueling 80s popstars Tiffany and Debbie Gisbon shared the stage today on " Good Morning America " -- where they performed some of their classic hits, with a twist. Gibson, wearing an outfit from Britney Spears ' closet circa 2001, sang " Only In My Dreams " -- and surprisingly added a rap to the middle of the song, which she performed while surrounded by backup dancers. Tiffany was a little more low key with her solo, singing a countrified version of " I Think We're Alone Now ." The duo also sang Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'," The Go-Go's "We Got the Beat" and Heart's "What About Love." The two kick off their " Journey Through the 80s " tour tonight in NY. Read more...

Leave it to The Vampire Diaries to deliver a terrific episode already filled with tension, emotion and intrigue, then kick it into another gear right before the credits roll.
It's almost as if the episode doesn't begin until around the 8:58 mark.
A week ago, Klaus manifested himself for the first time, possessing in the body of Alaric in the closing moments. Tonight, Elena ended "The Last Dance" with the requisite game-changer.
Theme of the week: How far would you go for someone you love?
Bonnie, apparently, will go the whole way and not think twice about it. While her "death" didn't stick this week, Ms. Bennett has no qualms about sacrificing herself.
The amazing thing is that the reverse is also true. Her desperate resurrection of Elijah shows that she'd rather put herself at greater risk than let Bonnie die killing Klaus.

The answer to that question is most definitely no. You don't know what Debbie Gibson and Tiffany are up to these days, and chances are you don't want to know. Well too bad, because this juicy bit of ridiculousness is just too good to pass up. Gibson, who brought us such hits as "Only In My Dreams" and "Foolish Beat," hasn't been seen since Jimmy Schwartz from down the block accidentally tore through her poster while he was up searching for an old baseball mitt in the attic. Meanwhile, Tiffany -- who you probably know from the song "I Think We're Alone Now" and ... that's about it -- only pops up when dance clubs down at the Jersey Shore play a club remix of her most famous song. But wait! Just when you thought the former 80's pop stars were gone for good, here comes a film called...

Human beings are bundles of contradictions. This week's direct-to-dvd column is about a film that explores one contradiction fundamental to human life: our need to belong and fit in within a peer group on the one hand, and the need to feel like we're special and stand out from the people around us on the other. It's a documentary about two fans of the '80s pop star Tiffany, though fans is too soft a word (and stalker may be too hard a word, since they don't want to hurt Tiffany, just feel like she cares about them as deeply as they care about her).
Both of these people -- a middle-aged man with Asperger Syndrome and an intersex woman in her thirties -- are outsiders who have difficulty fitting into society. Becoming fans of Tiffany in the 1980s, when she was the epitome of the mainstream, was an attempt...

Just as the last weekend of the summer is typically a dumping ground for mediocre movies, the same would seem to be the case for DVD releases as well. Not a heck of a lot out there this week, aside from Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married Too? and Marmaduke, the underperforming summer comedy featuring the voice of Owen Wilson! However, a couple of smaller releases worth checking out are the Michael Caine revenge flick Harry Brown, and the three U.K. serial killer made-for-tv movies that form the critically-acclaimed Red Riding Trilogy. Also, out on Blu-ray this week we have the "Rich Mahogany Edition" of Anchorman, and what will probably be the first of many Bd releases for Sam Raimi's The Evil Dead. First of all: Yes, we know she's officially Deborah Gibson now, but for anybody who grew up with "Shake Your Love" and "Out of the Blue," she'll always be Debbie. Today is her 40th birthday, so be sure to save her the big slice of cake and let her take a few extra swings at the pinata.
Gibson broke onto the pop scene just before her 17th birthday when she dropped her debut album Out of the Blue in 1987. Though most teenage pop sensations are the product of an army of producers, songwriters and stylists, Gibson was a completely self-made star who wrote, produced and arranged all of the songs on her debut. The album spawned a cavalcade of hit singles, including "Only in My Dreams," the aforementioned "Shake Your Love" and the title track. Those songs drove Out of the Blue to sales of three million in the U.

By 2008, after three fantastic years (2005, 2006, 2007), Fantastic Fest was no longer a fledging fest. There were definitely growing pains as the fests popularity grows. And why wouldn't it? The fest was based at the best theater in the world with world-class cinema that was well, fantastic on so many levels.
My favorite part about 2008 was the special online screenings, with a mix of shorts and features available for online viewing through B-Side. It made it possible to see more films that I would have otherwise. I got to see the disturbingly entertaining documentary; I Think We're Alone Now, profiling two Tiffany stalkers. Yes, that Tiffany, and yes, it was a recent documentary.

1980s pop princess rivals are reborn as screen pugilists. By Jonathan Bernstein
In 2009, one-time tween-pop princess Debbie Gibson starred in the self-explanatory Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus, which went on to be that year's highest-rated original movie on America's SyFy (formerly Sci-Fi) network. This year, Gibson's 1980s chart rival, Tiffany, of I Think We're Alone Now fame, shrieked at CGI mutants in the modestly budgeted cable crowdpleaser Mega Piranha. Few foresaw what would happen next. "SyFy were like, 'It would be great to get you and Deborah together,'" says Tiffany, now 39. "Straight away I said, 'I will give her a call, I will do whatever it takes to make this happen.' People have been waiting 25 years for us to do something together, although I think they thought it would be musically."
Instead, 2011 will see the singers face off against terrifying new misfit creatures – and each other – in Mega Python vs Gatoroid.

Piranhas are proving a popular choice in films at the moment.
Released on the big screen on August 20 is Piranha 3D in which an underwater tremor frees a prehistoric variety of the flesh-eaters into Lake Victoria, just as residents and tourists gather for fun in the sun during the spring break.
And out on DVD from Metrodome this week is Mega Piranha, in which giant mutant fish escape from the Amazon and chomp their way towards Florida. Pop singer Tiffany is among the cast of the creature feature.
Mega Piranha went down a storm at a limited London screening last month, as viewers played a game to guess the number of deaths and revelled in the cheesy special effects, bad acting and overblown tone.
But reviewers were less than happy and, as you can see in the following compilation of critiques, proved their teeth were more than a match for the film's aquatic horrors.

Just so you know, this is a 100 percent shameless post that has no importance. I have no problem admitting that.
But it's also video preview of '80s teen sensations Tiffany ("I Think We're Alone Now") and Debbie Gibson ("Electric Youth") calling each other "bitch" and slap fighting in skimpy dresses. So while this may be nothing more than titillating garbage, it's definitely a must-see for anyone who has wondered what these two have been up to. Let's just say that you can probably book them for your kid's next birthday party for the same price as an alcoholic clown.

Former teen popstar Tiffany has claimed that Miley Cyrus is on the "right track" regarding her career. The 'I Think We're Alone Now' singer has also insisted that being "sexy" is part of the package when it comes to being a teen star. The 38-year-old told Us Weekly: "Miley Cyrus is on a great track. I know that there are a lot of people that say, well, when you are so young you shouldn't be sexy. "I think that (more)...

Pop star Tiffany - best known for her 80s hit I Think We're Alone Now - has recently been making the transition into feature films, beginning with the 2009 thriller Necrosis, also released under the name Blood Snow.
This month will see the singer appearing in the Metrodome release Mega Piranha, which gets a limited cinema run in London on July 16 and comes out on DVD on August 9. A trailer for the film is included below.
It's from the same studio that brought us last year's Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus, starring fellow 80s pop star Debbie Gibson, in which two prehistoric sea-creatures wreaked havoc after being thawed out from a glacier.
Mega Piranha is written and directed by Eric Forsberg, now well known in the mockbuster genre as the man who penned Snakes on a Train, 30,000 Leagues Under the Sea and War of the Worlds 2: The Next Wave.

Back in the '80s, there were two teen girls battling for pop supremacy. One, Debbie Gibson, took the tween fashion world by storm with cut-off shorts, jean vests, and funky hats. The other, Tiffany, hit malls everywhere singing Beatles tunes. As time went on, Debbie continued releasing music that never earned the same fame, but she also changed her name to Deborah and hit Broadway, playing everyone from Sally Bowles to Fanny Brice. Tiffany, meanwhile, faded through the nineties, even flirting with country to continue her career, before making a momentary comeback dropping trou for Playboy and appearing in the very short-lived That '80s Show. In recent years, she popped up in a Meat Loaf commercial, and her fans found documentary fame with I Think We're Alone Now.

Eighties teen pop princess Debbie Gibson starring in their Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus. Her perceived Eighties teen pop rival Tiffany recently starred in their Mega Piranha. Now The Asylum is partnering with Syfy to bring the two Eighties pop performers together for one film so that they can do battle on the undercard of a big Mega Python vs. Gatoroid main event.
Gatoroid? What in the blue blazes is a gatoroid? Sounds like a hemmroid alligators would get?
Artwork for another Asylum mega movie titled Mega Shark vs. Gigantosaurus was spotted at the Cannes Film Festival in May. I wonder if this will replace that one or if The Asylum just sits around now and comes up with wacky ideas for potential "mega" and "vs" movies? This week! Will La Streisand be in Sex and the City 2? Have any celebrities "inned" themselves? Plus, the truth about the Tiffany/Debbie Gibson feud!
Have a question about gay male entertainment? Contact me here (and be sure and include your city and state and/or country!)
Q: So the trailer for Sex and the City 2 is out, and it reveals what Liza Minnelli had already confirmed: she sings at Anthony and Stanford’s gay wedding. But what about the other part of the rumor, that Barbra Streisand also sings? Is she in the movie or not? – Elliott, Carmel, CA
A: It’s been denied, but truthfully? I'd bet money that she is.
What’s my hunch based on?

After a strong international festival run in 2007 and 2008, the documentary I Think We're Alone Now is receiving a well-deserved DVD release. The film is available right now in the United Kingdom from Kaleidoscope Home Entertainment. Music Video Distributors will release the film in North America, Japan, Europe and Australia on July 27.
As readers may recall, Sean Donnelly's documentary follows the lives of two avid stalkers of 80's pop sensation Tiffany. Although Tiffany has done much in the last 20 years except appear in Mega-Piranha, the subjects of this utterly captivating film keep the fan flames burning in uncomfortably strange ways. I Think We're Alone Now is highly recommended viewing.

Miley's mentoring them, but we've got our own song suggestions for Tuesday night.

"American Idol" has ditched its planned Teen Idol theme week in favor of a more wide-ranging, age-neutral category for Tuesday's (March 23) live show: Billboard #1 Hits. But the youngsters will be represented in the form of newly announced mentor Miley Cyrus. What will this switcheroo mean for this week's airing, beyond the potential for some seriously awkward TV when the 17-year-old Cyrus might be disseminating advice to new father Michael "Big Mike" Lynche about something like Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get It On"?
We'll have to wait and see what happens. We don't yet know what season nine's top 11 men and women will sing, nor do we know if Cyrus will try to teach any of them her pole-dancing moves. But we do have some suggestions for the likes of Crystal Bowersox,...

It’s karaoke at its finest, this. The vast majority of these 40 songs are guaranteed to get people up and singing, and what we have here is a collection of party favourites. The only downside to this game is that it doesn’t come bundled with a microphone – you’ll need to buy it separately – but as far as the choice of songs goes, you can’t really go wrong if you are looking to get your mates all singing together. The track listing is as follows... · What's Up - 4 Non Blondes · Black Velvet - Alannah Myles · Rehab - Amy Winehouse · Doctor Jones - Aqua · Love Shack - The B-52's · Let's Get It Started - Black Eyed Peas · Word Up - Cameo · Tubthumping - Chumbawamba · Rhythm Of The Night - DeBarge · Groove Is In The Heart - Deee-Lite · I Touch Myself - Divinyls · American Pie - Don McLean · Son...

Dan Carlson has added his own commentary about the late night fracas going on, and how "people who use the Internet to do more than forward cat pictures" are rallying behind Conan. To be fair, my dad forwards mostly dog pictures. (Hairballs)
Meanwhile, Quentin Tarantino is helping Conan flesh out his next project: A -- wait for it -- revenge flick. (Agent Bedhead)
John Mayer spoke to Rolling Stone about his penchant for constantly masturbating. Seriously John, this is why everyone hates you and thinks you're a douchebag. Go away. (Litelysalted)
Oooooooooooooh! "True Blood" spoiler alert! Season Three might include some hot Sam on Bill action. Is a doggy style joke fair game? Thanks, I'll be here all night. (Screen Junkies)

This doc came out of nowhere to floor anyone and everyone that saw it at last year's Ff. Though it was one of the few films we played that took place in reality, it was undeniably more bizarre and discomforting than anything else seen on screen all year. So, in order to further enlighten and terrorize our hometown audiences, we're bringing it back for an Exclusive Engagement At The Ritz, following its Music Monday screening.
Seriously, if you missed this one at the festival, it's your moral imperative to catch it at the theater.
Here's what noted film historian Rodney Perkins has to say about this stunning document of humanity on the ropes:
"Many people are familiar with American pop singer Tiffany, who had a number of hit songs during the 1980s, including "I Think We're Alone Now" and "Could've Been." Less known is the story of two of Tiffany's...

One of the pitfalls of leading a Charmed life... Alyssa Milano has filed a request for a temporary restraining order against a man she has classified as an "obsessed and mentally unstable fan" who was featured in a recent documentary where he declared himself to be proudly "overobsessed" with the '80s pop star Tiffany, according to court documents obtained by E! News. Per the petition filed Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court, 54-year-old Jeff Turner, who appeared in the 2008 film I Think We're Alone Now, tried on two occasions to break into Milano's L.A. home and has made repeated attempts to contact her over the past two years, including a recent stab at getting access to the...

What qualifies a mainstream comedy like The Brothers Bloom to screen at Fantastic Fest, a festival reknowned for its horror, science fiction, fantasy, and other hard-core genre entries? One answer might be: 'Because co-founder Harry Knowles said so,' but even Knowles wondered if the film belonged in the program. The better answer might be: 'Why the heck not?' If distributors came to Fantastic Fest this year looking for the next Timecrimes, and badge holders descended hungry for a peek at the next There Will Be Blood, it's interesting that one of the most talked about films on the schedule has ended up being not a world premiere, not a surprise preview of an Oscar contender, not an unknown international oddity, and not even, really, a genre film, but a documentary made by an American 25 year-old which has been on the festival circuit for nine months. And yet, the popularity of I Think We're Alone Now (otherwise known as The Tiffany Stalker Movie) at Fantastic Fest makes a certain perfect sense, and not just because this audience is accustomed to stories of sexual obsession (usually fictional, usually much gorier). In putting a camer ...
