50 Cent formed a bond with the legendary California rapper and collaborated on multiple tracks, but the man behind "In Da Club" might not have fully accepted Snoop Dogg's transformation into Snoop Lion just yet.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter promoting his upcoming film, Freelancers, 50 Cent questioned Snoop's transformation from dog to lion.
“It’s interesting,” 50 told THR. “Of course, there will be some people who connect to it and there will be some people that run from it – I don’t know how his little league team’s parents will feel about his new persona. But again, it’s a persona – these are the choices he’s created for himself creatively. And, you know, I think it will work.”
Snoop has three children and showcased his role as a rap daddy in the reality show, "Snoop Dogg's Father Hood."
50 admits that Snoop has the cred to back up his recent change.

He started out as a Long Beach hustler, made his bones as a breakout rap star and has played everything from a loveable stoner to Huggy Bear and an undead gangster in the 2001 horror flick "Bones."
But is America ready for Snoop Dogg family sitcom star? According to Deadline Hollywood the D-o-double G's family comedy project has landed at NBC with a script in the works from veteran comedy writer Don Reo ("Blossom," "Everybody Hates Chris," "My Wife and Kids").
Snoop, the family man who has managed to strike a balance between lascivious rhyme dropper and pee-wee football coach, will play a dad in the show, which he will also produce. Snoop has already worked with Reo on the Fox sitcom "Brothers," a show about a former NFL player...

Snoop Dogg is bringing his...um, acting talents to NBC, where the multi-platinum rapper has just sold a family comedy he's slated to produce and star in. Snoop developed the series with "My Wife and Kids" creator Don Reo, who will serve as the show's writer and executive-producer. As we previously mentioned, Snoop Dogg has worked fairly extensively in television before, including his E! reality series "Snoop Dogg's Father Hood" and "Doggy Fizzle Televizzle", a short-lived sketch comedy series that he produced and starred in for MTV in 2002. The rapper will star as a father in the new sitcom, which is...

The network that was once home to sitcoms starring Will Smith and LL Cool J is hoping to turn Snoop Dogg into a comedy lead as well.
NBC has bought a pitch from Snoop and producer Don Reo ("My Wife and Kids"), according to The Hollywood Reporter. Snoop Dogg will star as the father of a group of unruly kids and also serve as a producer.
The premise sounds a little different than the idea we came up with when the project was first announced: A show called "What It Do, Nephew," in which he takes in his brother or sister's son. But that's Ok.
Snoop Dogg has a pretty sizable acting resume, including starring roles in "The Wash" and "Soul Plane" and several sitcom guest appearances, including two episodes of "Brothers" (which Reo executive produced) in the 2009-10 season. He also starred in the E! reality series "Snoop Dogg's Father Hood,...

New York, Sept 18: Snoop Dogg has signed a deal with Warner bros TV to star in a new family sitcom in which he would play a father.
According to deadline.com, the 39-year-old rapper, who is all set to play his part in the untitled project, has already headlined an E! reality show, 'Snoop Dogg's Father Hood', which was built around his home life and featured his wife and three kids, the New York Post reported.
The 'Doggystyle' hitmaker had been recently cast in the big-screen movie 'The Legend of Fillmre Slim'.
Dogg will be working on the untitled current project with TV veteran Don Reo, who has also been.

[1] Superstar rapper Snoop Dogg looks to be beefing up his acting resume with two very different new roles. The first is The Legend of Fillmore Slim, a biopic of the blues musician and erstwhile pimp; the second, an untitled family sitcom by Blossom creator Don Reo in which Snoop Dogg will play the father. Talk about range. More details after the jump. First-time feature director Hawthorne James is set to helm The Legend of Fillmore Slim, from a script by Alan Ames and Carole Parker. The film will span several decades in the life of the 77-year-old singer and guitarist, whose real name is Clarence Sims. The story will range "from Slim’s emergence as a musician, to his fascination with the fast life, through his years of incarceration and his redemption," says [2] co-producer Alan Ames. Sims first began working as a musician in the '50s, but stepped away...

In yet another major blow to what little street cred he's got left, West Coast rapper Snoop Dogg is now looking to star in his own TV sitcom. Dogg, Warner Bros. and "My Wife and Kids" creator Don Reo are currently developing a family comedy that would see the multi-platinum artist starring as the father. The rapper previously worked with Reo when he guest-starred on an episode of the producer's short-lived Fox sitcom "Brothers" starring Michael Strahan. Snoop Dogg is no stranger to the TV world, with his most notable venture on the small-screen being the reality series "Snoop Dogg's Father Hood", which ran from 2007-2008...

Fresh off his (unsuccessful or unnoticed) bid to take over Yahoo!, Snoop Dogg has inked a deal to star in his own family sitcom.
Snoop will develop the show at Warner Bros. TV, according to Deadline.com, with producer Don Reo, who worked with Snoop previously when the rapper guested on the Fox sitcom "Brothers."
Beyond the obvious news that Snoop will be playing a dad, there aren't any show specifics. Snoop previously starred in his own E! reality show, "Snoop Dogg's Father Hood," which gave viewers a peek at his surprisingly normal family life.

Yeah, you read that title right, Snoop Dogg is going to star in a new TV family sitcom. This just seems weird to me, but it's happening. The project is set up over at Warner Bros. TV, but it has yet to be shopped around to any networks. There is really no information on the series other than that Don Reo is developing it, and that it will be a multi-camera family comedy.
Snoop Dogg previously did that E! series Snoop Dogg's FAther Hood, which I never watched, but it chronicled his family life with his wife and his three kids. Dogg was also recently cast in the title role of the biopic The Legend of Fillmore Slim. Obviously the Rapper is putting a lot of effort and focus into his acting career.
It'll be interesting to see how this all turns out. What are your thought's on Dogg starring in a family sitcom?...

Rapper Snoop Dogg has no hard feelings against the U.S. TV bosses who canceled his family reality show "Snoop Dogg's Father Hood" - he's convinced the program was scrapped because there was no "drama". The hip-hop star, real name Calvin Broadus, invited cameras from the E! cable channel into his Los Angeles home in 2007 to document his daily routine with his wife Shante Taylor and their children Cori, Cordell and Corde.
The program lasted for two seasons before it was axed in 2008 but Snoop Dogg has no regrets about the show because he's proud of how well-behaved his kids are. He tells talk show host Larry King, "I believe the show was too positive and too enlightening. They wanted some drama."

Considering how ubiquitous and consistently excellent he has been for the length of his career, it's easy to take Snoop Dogg for granted. But you shouldn't, because not only has the man born Calvin Broadus released some of the most iconic hip-hop tracks of the past 20 years ("Gin and Juice," "Murder Was the Case," "Drop It Like It's Hot," "Beautiful" and "Sensual Seduction" among them), but he has also been a movie star ("Starsky and Hutch," "Bones"), a TV icon ("Doggy Fizzle Televizzle" and "Snoop Dogg's Father Hood") and a master of the endorsement (which run from St. Ides malt liquor to Snoop-themed action figures).

The amazing thing about the Twilight franchise is how it's spawned so many more movies about vampires set in all sorts of wacky situations. You want vampires with Southern accents, then watch "True Blood." You want vampire zombies, then look no further than the upcoming Daybreakers. A high-school girl torn between two vampires? Check out The CW's "Vampire Diaries." College kids partying with vampires? Check out Transylmania! Man: I can't wait for the remake of DC Cab with vampires!
You know what'd be cool, though? A vampire movie where vampires actually act like fucking vampires! I doubt that this will be that movie, but Summit Entertainment -- hopped up on the success of Twilight -- is dipping their pen back into the well and stabbing it into our eyes with Vlad, something of a Dracula remake which focuses on Dracula while he was still the young prince, Vlad.

Reality TV has hit the hood. Father Hood. It’s amazing that I haven’t gotten used to the cockamamie ideas for new reality shows that hit the likes of MTV or Bravo. After years of new shows popping up on the entertainment radar, it’s a wonder any shows surprise us. Either you want to be a model, you want to be the best animal groomer in all the land or you’re a celebrity with a semi-interesting family.
Who is Calvin Broudus? Calvin is a loving husband. Calvin is a devoted father. But, Calvin on his own probably doesn’t make for a very interest television show. Now throw in a little hip and a little hop. What do you get? Reality TV. Calvin “Snoop Dogg” Broudus may not have been the subject of a reality show ten years ago…but the Snoop of today is a daddy three times over.

Snoop Dogg is getting waxed! No, not that kind of waxed. He is set to become the first living rapper to be immortalized for Madame Tussauds famous wax museum. "Fa shizzle dizzle I said yes when asked," the rapper tells People. "I'm honored! The D O double G got a double." The rapper-turned-reality star of Snoop Dogg's Father Hood and MTV's Dogg After Dark will have his figure unveiled Monday, April 20 at Madame Tussauds in Las Vegas. The figure will stand in the "On Stage" area. Snoop Dogg will be the third rap icon on display at one of the famous museums.
