If you have an Amazon Prime account and trust one of the world’s most prolific writers, you may want to take a look at the indie flick Wade in the Water. According to Stephen King, it’s very much worth a watch, as he enthusiastically stated on his Twitter account last week when he called it “a little movie with a big heart.”
King points out that the pic is devoid of any major special effects or expensive sets, but he makes note of the performances of the film’s two leads, Tom E. Nicholson and Danika Golembek. Luckily, he isn’t alone in thinking it’s a fantastic movie, either, as critics have praised it for its intimate storytelling and compelling writing, so it’s one that you may not want to sleep on.
Wade In The Water (Amazon Prime): No big FX, no expensive sets, but two pretty exceptional performances.

Word of mouth is how many movies and shows gain so much traction in such a socially-charged world, and no one knows that better than acclaimed author Stephen King, who regularly tweets out recommendations for his many Twitter followers. In recent months, he’s enticed fans to check out such releases as prison breakout series Escape at Dannemora, weird Lifetime movie Deranged Granny, and Russian show To the Lake. Earlier this year, he even shared 11 Netflix recommendations to help you survive quarantine, and they’re all still perfectly relevant now.
His newest obsession, meanwhile, makes a lot of sense because it’s partially based on a short story he wrote. Shudder’s A Creepshow Animated Special, which has already gained a lot of attention from horror fans, features two brief animated tales meant to give you a spook, and it seems that King’s a fan of it.
I loved that animated Creepshow.

Beloved author Stephen King is known for sharing his many media recommendations on Twitter – so much so, in fact, that we’ve compiled a list of nearly everything he’s ever recommended on Netflix.
A few weeks ago, the writer surprised us all when he even endorsed a Lifetime Movie Network film called Deranged Granny, but fans around the world took a chance and listened to his suggestion simply based on who he is. Now, he’s back at it again with a recommendation for an intriguing new Amazon Prime series, and it won’t be such a tough sell.
King took to Twitter to announce that he’s been loving Utopia, calling it “horrifying, violent, and occasionally laugh-out-loud funny.” He acknowledges, however, that it’s a slow burn and that its very subject matter may be a turn off to some people due to the times we’re living in.

Plenty of us have casually flipped through the channels only to stumble upon a truly bonkers film on Lifetime. At first, we might laugh at the oft-ridiculous title and wonder how such a silly movie could ever get made. Next thing you know, though, you’ve spent the past two hours glued to the TV screen in anticipation of what’ll happen next.
It’s an odd yet frequent happening that even famed horror author Stephen King isn’t immune to. According to one of his tweets last week, in fact, the writer admitted to being a fan of the off-the-wall flicks and even has a personal recommendation for his fans.
“I enjoy Lifetime Movie Network films while doing morning exercises. How can you go wrong with Deranged Granny?”
There you have it, folks. The man who’s come up with some of the scariest tales ever put to paper...

Stephen King sure does love using Twitter. It seems like every day he’s making news with one of his tweets. Whether he’s terrifying his millions of followers with a short story or offering an entertainment recommendation based on his latest viewing habits, the famed horror author certainly knows how to stir the pot and get people talking.
Earlier this week, he voiced his support for bonkers Lifetime original movies, including a specifically wacky one entitled (believe it or not) Deranged Granny. And as if that wasn’t odd enough, he also surprised and disappointed many fans with his praise of J.K. Rowling’s latest novel, which most view to be as openly transphobic as her recent comments.
Thankfully, his selection this time around is considerably less controversial. In his own words, here’s what he’s recommended now:
“Enjoying Ratched. The music is positively Hitchcockian.”

Let's face it. You all have lost your loving feeling for episodic television that goes week to week. At least, given the dismal numbers that we're seeing on the few shows that Are airing weekly.
So, you should be pleased with many things this week, even as some networks still desperately try to get your attention for weekly viewing.
There are binge-watches dropping across multiple platforms and some great new weekly series. There are movies and horror-adjacent and teen dramas galore, with a timely docuseries dropped into the mix, too. Check it out!

8/7c Coastal Elites (HBO)
If you're of a liberal mind and a Trump hater, you should find something to love in HBO's adaptation of Paul Rudnick's play, which was expected to go into production this year, but, well, Covid.
If Bette Midler has the appearance of a screaming shrew on Twitter, she's the perfect...
