Can you hear me meow?
movieman_kev12 March 2012
Warning: Spoilers
A dim-witted couple find themselves in possession of a pair of working x-ray glasses after a stripper bumps into the spy who bought them from a Russian agent. So her and her boyfriend obviously go to Vegas to make a mint, not knowing that they're being pursued by the government agent who in turn is being pursued by criminal kingpin, Meow Mix and her henchman.

This soft core romp from the ever prolific Fred Olen Ray had it's moments and was a bit of silly fun for the most part but two things lessened the experience for me. One being the best part of the movie, Christine Nguyen had a pretty minor role I wish there was more of her. The other was the fact that Shannon Kelly does absolutely nothing for me and her Meow character grated on my nerves. Otherwise the film was OK, not Ray's best by a long shot, but not his worst.

My Grade: D+

The Goods: 6 simulated sex scenes (M/F, F/F)

Solid Entry in Nicholas Medina's "Bikini" Softcore Films
TimeNTide9 July 2008
Even though it doesn't have the word "Bikini" in the title like most of the others, this flick is definitely one of Fred Olen Ray's (aka Nicholas Medina) "Bikini" series of softcore films that stay in constant rotation on Cinemax. If you seen any of the previous films (e.g. "Bikini Round-Up", "Ghost in a Teeny Bikini"), you know what to expect. A silly but moderately amusing comic spoof of some movie genre, a cast half made up from Fred's band of regulars who've found a niche, and six good solid simulated sex scenes. As always, it's a big budget (for softcore porn) film that actually has a plot, action, sets, costumes, special effects (albeit cheesy), outdoor scenes, all new footage, etc. as opposed to all those softcore films which are nothing but several actors sitting around a house talking and having sex, often with archive footage slipped in.

This time it's a spy spoof, with a government agent and the evil henchman of a sexy female criminal vying to regain possession of a pair of top secret X-ray vision glasses that have fallen into the hands of a ditzy stripper and her dopey boyfriend. As usual, the plot is silly but amusing and is sprinkled with quite a few very funny lines.

Nicole Sheridan and Alexandre Boisvert (with another silly hairdo) are back as the ditzy couple and do their regular clowning, and Brad Bartram is very good in the straight comic role of the government agent. And as always, Evan Stone does his thing in the over-the-top campy role (with ridiculous costume), this time as the evil henchman. Part-timer Christine Nguyen (and her cute smile) pops in for a couple of scenes, and newcomer Demi Delia does a good job as the Russian double agent. The only hiccup in the acting is newcomer Shannon Kelly who is really stiff with her lines as the evil supercriminal.

As for the simulated sex scenes, the "Bikini" flicks always do a pretty good job, but the quality is a little more up and down this time. The standout scenes are the Evan Stone/Demi Delia and Shannon Kelly/Daisy Marie scenes, which are excellent. On the other end of the spectrum, although I enjoy their comedy, I'm getting tired of watching Nicole Sheridan and Alexandre Boisvert have sex, partially due to the lack of different partners, and very much due to her plastic pig snout that seems to get worse with every nose job. As for the new girls, Demi Delia is fine, Shannon Kelly looks good except for the low quality breast job, and Daisy Marie is a very beautiful (and all natural) girl.

Overall... another solid entry in the "Bikini" softcore films.
