It's a TV movie. That sort of tells it all.

As a non-Brit, I found it enlightening, but there really is not much more to say. Except perhaps that Sian Brooke and Sue Johnston carry the whole thing and that the phrase "moustache-twirling villains" kept coming to mind during the scenes with the board of trustees. Oh, and also, thank God for whistleblowers, wherever they stand up in the world!

What an incredible, courageous woman!

A heartbreaking story told beautifully. I knew some of the story in advance but was absolutely outraged at the awful treatment by the hospital and those in authority who refused to listen. A great cast telling a story which sadly needed telling.

Even reviews show you the system is rotten

I've never written a review before. Having just watched The Cure, it is an outstanding film and everyone associated with it should take huge credit.

The core reason for my post is that at the time of writing three of the five reviews for The Cure are 1/10 that claim exaggeration, untruths and "it wasn't really that bad". It is precisely this type of blasé attitude and a culture of cover up and unwillingness to listen and learn that caused the problems at Mid Staffs in the first place.

God bless Julie Bailey.

Harrowing but brilliant.

Truly moving and harrowing. This is a brilliantly acted and delivered television show that raises awareness about the scandal. It's something that should never be forgotten, and raises awareness of the quality of care.

God bless Julie Bailey.

Absolutely brilliant drama and all the more disturbing that it is based on actual first hand records and accounts of the horrors at Mid Staffs.

Shame on the reviewers who try to defend the disgusting behaviour of the trust in question.

Rubbish

This is an awful film, exaggerated to the extreme. Showing lies and humiliation to staff. Stafford Hospital is and never has been as bad as it has been made out to be. This should never have been made as it is just slander

Mostly exaggerated

I have worked for Stafford hospital for 11 years so just before this all happened and all I can say is I have never seen any of the stuff that is in the program apart from staffing issues which could be because of the management prioritising cost over care or it's because no staff want to work here because of stuff like this. This ether means it's all vastly exaggerated or the hospital has got a lot better ether way this program didn't need to be made and all it's done is drag the hospital through more dirt and what for profit?
