I enjoyed so much except the last 15 mins

Nice romantic drama with hurried climax... the cast, characterisation and dialogs are so good that saves the film in most of the places... It was so enjoyable and entertaining till the climax... The climax and last 15 mins are giving Tv serial feeling and its so hurried... I enjoyed so much except the last 15 mins.

The ending could have been better

Overall good movie. Its about love and equality. The characteristics of the hero is potrayed confusingly. Once he will be brave the other time he runs away. Coming to the end, the ending was abrupt. The whole movie standard droped because of the ending. The ending was so unsatisfying to watch. Unless there is Part 2.

Caste differences lite

Revanth(Naga Chaithanya) is a low caste man who has a passion for dancing opens a small zumba dance centre in the city. Mounika(Sai Pallavi) is a high caste girl who comes to the city for a job and to escape from her authoritative uncle narasimham(rajeev kanakala). Mouni has a passion for dancing and when she joins revanth's dance centre as instructor, their business prospers. Later both of them fall in love. Rest of the film is whether their love triumphs or not through the caste difference.

Recent tamil films have shown caste differences in a raw, intense and brutal manner. But shekhar kammula showcases it in a lighter vein. I never liked naga chaithanya on screen. But in this he was convincing and bearable as you feel only the character. Sai pallavi is always great. Rajeev kanakala delivers a slapworthy performance as narasimham.

Drawbacks i felt was the production values. There are few sequences where revanth and mouni drink tea near the teashop of a bridge which is clearly shown as green screen. Another drawback is the climax is rushed because of the excessive runtime. The chartbuster saranga dariya was placed in a bad manner.

On the whole, love story shows a sensitive topic in a lighthearted manner.

Inter Caste Love Story

Love Story is a mature romantic drama that addresses key issues like the caste system and gender inequality. Pallavi is the biggest highlight of this film and the dramatic narration makes things interesting.

Sai Pallavi is unbelievably effortless when she's dancing like nothing else matters. She's a treat to watch. Naga Chaitanya, on other hand, is equally good and is very earnest on screen. As a pair, they shine. Even in the dance scenes, it is refreshing to see Chaitanya match steps with Sai Pallavi and not the other way around. Rajeev Kanakala, who is usually sidelined in supporting roles, gets a very meaty part and he nails the character.

Love Story

What a poor direction . Never expected the movie to be so bad. In the beginning, it was Zumba till the first half. In the second half, the usual love story with no touching, then wrap up of Zumba dance and with it the idea of business goes up in holy smoke. Then enters the concept of going to Dubai to earn quick bucks by doing two to three menial jobs simultaneously and no contact for six months with his lover. Then the idea of register marriage and fake suicide to evade the eyes of her Bawa. Then out of nowhere comes the accusation of molestation and opening up of pent up fear . What a Hawla movie made by the director. Pathetic First half is good which has been savagely killed by the second half of the movie and deserves 2 out of 5. The only saving grace is dance of the lead actor Sai Pallavi and there is nothing to watch in the movie.

The first half of the movie had decent jokes and the chemistry was also good but the second half was unbelievable. It appeared as if the first half was written by a good script writer and the second half was written by another script writer. Horrible script writing. Usually Shekhar Kammula movies have two chartbusters songs , in this movie there was not a single good song . There was not a single trademark of Shekhar Kammula.

Total and complete waste of time . Should have been released in OTT directly. Its not a love story its a hate story for the audience.

Shekar Kammula's Meta-Narrative is "TOUCH"ing!!!

Love Story is set in Hyderabad whose most famous love story is that of Quli Qutub Shah who swam across a river during flood times to save the love of his life, Bhagmati. This love story is between people who are from two different religions and social positions, and the only thing binding them is love. Hyderabad's foundation is built on love. Therefore the love story buds and grows in Hyderabad. And we are lured by it.

Real story surfaces when the couple realizes that they are unequal and even if they want to live together, it won't end well for their families. And here chaitanya's character has more to lose. Because since childhood he resented his unequal status and faced many hardships to create whatever he has now.

One beautiful aspect of this movie is how it deals with "TOUCH". For sai pallavi's character physical touch reminds her of the atrocity she faced as a child. For Chaitanya's character, being from a lower caste his touch is always considered impure. And beauty of writing comes out in a scene when he touches her, she feels discomfort even though she knows his touch is not intentional and he feels sorry as well as angry when she reprimands him, but he cannot show.

They both carry a lot of emotional baggage in this movie. Which is why when heroine KISSES hero, it had a huge impact. And he cries when she kisses conveys the acceptance he feels of both her love and society as a whole. HIM BEING UNTOUCHABLE ALL HIS LIFE IS WIPED OFF WITH THAT TEARDROP.

This is most mature writing I have seen from any Telugu director in recent times. Many questions were raised that we overlook in our day-to-day lives like What is Masculinity? How can child abuse affect their education? How can drinking father drains his child's security into gutter? Is his father's drinking habit root cause of all her problems? OR Is it the voyeuristic nature of a human mind? How can discrimination make you insecure? And when will you be free of that insecurity? Maybe never!!

My only concern is due to this heavy lifting, somehow the atrocity faced by sai pallavi's character took a backseat till the penultimate portion of the movie. And the movie redeems its mistake with the powerful performance of Devayani (sai pallavi's mother) in a single scene in the climax.

Don't know why Shekar Kammula placed different concepts in one single movie. Love is 25% other emotions are 75%. Unusual and boring scenes were many. Good thing is Naga Chaitanya improved in Dancing and acting. Telangana slang not apt to him but ok. Dancing episodes are so boring and dragging.

Boring and Time Waste

Not a proper story and not worth the hype movie is receiving. It seems like purposely promoting one religion and defaming one. Instead director should've shown, how they are fooling & converting people. Director should thank to Music Director and Lyricist for bringing this movie to the hype.

None of the people involveds best work. I hardly noticed deviyani until the end - a slight insult to the actress she really is. Sai pallabi has had better movies. And sekhar kammula has made much better, less flashier movies.

There's no proper plot for this film...and ending too incomplete... director hyped this film so much in trailer but there's nothing serious happened as shown in it... movie was just dragged with dances and there are so many unnecessary scenes and not even one single joke was laughable...and love scenes were seemed to be forced in second half and hardly one time watchable.

1990s Love Story

Probably director lost his script 30 years back, and might have found in his own backyard digging, when nothing else to do in corona times. What a waste if energy from actors. Music is good, acting is good, but story is from stone ages. Slow and boring. 6 stars for music and lead pair chemistry.

7 star for lag

There is so much lag in movie, which can be managed better by Shekhar Kammula . As you see Fidaa, there is no lag and each and every minute is used. I didn't think he used the time properly and I felt so slow movie. More scenes and speed would have incorporated in this movie.

A genuine love story with a topic that needs to be told

This film has Sekhar kammula sir's heartfelt, warm and genuine moments backed up by two beautiful performances and a great soundtrack. The love story is genuine and simple, without any bells and whistles, extravaganza of a commercial plot. Although the climax felt a bit rushed, the 2 key issues and malpractices in today's society have been dealt very well. Love Revanth, Mounica and Sekhar kammula.

The night before watching this film I was complaining to friends about how I hadn't watched a 'great' Telugu film in a while. There were brave attempts and good films and a few bad ones but nothing that was great. And in twelve hours my prayers were answered. If the film would have had its way, maybe it would want me to thank both Goddess Lakshmi and Jesus.

Sekhar kamula was Extradnary, Screen presence , dailogue writting , he is good work and worthy work. Coming To the performences Naga Chaitanya was Actor in this film He's dailogue was sooo Good.

Sai Pallavi was good in her role buy dance man What ey dance..? She's dancing like peacock wow..!

She nailed. Music was backbone of this film. DOP was nice other characters good her roles...!

Overall movie was magica.. 😊

Totally Wasted of Talent

Low pace film ,the story did not stick to plot ,and the green screen visuals if you do not have budget then don't shoot in green screen, it was so irritating to see low budget vfx how can i feel the emotion of scene when it does't look real , in conclusion i say mistake of director's narration and vfx ,only actors did their work nicely.

Addresses an important social issue

The story is another version of the regular social agenda of love and marriage between an upper class girl and lower class guy. The movie deserves credit for addressing the issue of child sexual abuse by a family member. By using killing to deliver justice or closure, it failed to create the impact made in Monsoon Wedding (2001).

Watched the movie on OTT. I'm fortunate that I saved Rs.1000. I thought 1st half was routine and boring. But shockingly, 2nd half was even routine and missing the essence and plot point. If these kind of movies are touted as successful movies, we get to watch only these kind of substandard movies. Industry needs honest feedbacks so that better movies are made. Wish SK good luck and hope for a better flic from him in future.

Shekhar kammular mark is missing...little disappointed

I am a fan of Shekhar kammula movies and sai pallavi's acting & dancing. The admirable thing in his movies is heart touching scenes or dialogues. Even a simple scene of appaginthalu in fidaa movie is so connecting and we feel it the emotion completely. The characters and scenes used to haunt me. But that kind of mark is missing in this movie I feel. There are fewer scenes that I could connect or feel the emotion. He spent much time on hero and heroines struggle in the city but he spent little time or scenes on when and how the love started. I felt like a bit sudden when she kissed him. The Dubai sequence is not at all connecting to me. It was a deceiving plan to make their love success. Its not fighting. So, the beautiful song ni chitram choosi is not connecting. Finally the climax the last 15 min I felt happened very fast or rushed. Changing goal posts where he wants us to take. It is like he forcibly want to tell two things at the same time. The abuse and caste. I would say he should have deleted the dubai sequence and spent more time on addressing both issues or smoother climax. In Dubai sequence the sai pallavi acting of showing pain of separation is fabulous. The saranga dariya dance is out of the world. Little disappointing here is the sarangadariya lyrics and the Pallavi's character doesn't match. She is rather opposite fearful, traumatized one. Showing Rajivkanakala in that song is like power cuts while watching cricket match finals or sachin batting or your favourite show. There was one good moment not utilized. When Pallavi proposes to dance with Chaitu on the evening of their grand zumba center opening. That was a beautiful opportunity to have wonderful song or ferocious more connecting dance performance of both of them. But it ends like a simple casual dance only shown for a minute or 2.

But I must admire the writing when she pass comment on his caste out of frustration. That scene hurts so bad. The subtle descrimination, generalization in passing comments is greatly shown in the movie through several simple scenes from start to end. I appreciate that. Showing abuse as another issue was not surprising to me at the end. I was expecting it from the beginning from Pallavi's characterization. So, it was not like a surprise to me. May be because I have seen such characterization in other movies already. Tried hard to balance two issues in the same story is a plus and minus for the movie. The sai palllavi is amazing throught the movie. Nagachaitanya did well too. 4 songs are beautiful. Saranga dariya, ye pilla, ni chitram chusi, rum pum. Chicken dinner song is wasted opportunity. Mother's character is wonderful. Gangavva scenes are hilarious.
