No, not a comedy...

No, not a comedy, but I don't think it's a drama either, than what is it? Artistically has a lot of value, good quality, good cinematography, the script it's a bit painful it has a lot of uncomfortable moments and I don't think that the plot is "a man is asked to be the father of her friends child" the plot is about the crisis of fitting into a society of successful people, our interpretation as humans of success, why we do the things we do and how we based our value and our existence on things that can easily be taken away from us. It has a dance scene that I enjoyed which is weird because the main character (the one who performs it) is not particularly a dancer, but his interpretation was good. The ending was a surprise, I think it's worth of your time if you are in the mood for a bit of introspection.

There is no depth

There are a lot of very personal topics in this movie, but they don't have any depth.

The way in which the film exposes these themes, such as loneliness, feeling insufficient or helplessness, is only touched on very lightly, the film does not delve into how the main character feels about it nor does it give a concrete development about why he is like that. The film tells the story that the main character went through to transcend, but we never really see him strive to achieve what he wants, moreover, there is not even a development to know what he really wants. What it does portray well is the difficulty that many writers go through so that their movie scripts can be captured on the big screen, and how the decisions of the plot are changed by the actors or by the need to create something meaningless but to make the audience laugh, is a clear staging of what is currently happening in the film industry in Mexico. The acting is decent, the photography is good, but some characters are very flat and not fully developed.

It's a movie that isn't as bad as other Mexican movies, but it doesn't add anything interesting or well developed either, the story may be different but it still isn't deep enough.
