Good german thrillers are rare. This is one of them. I enjoyed watching those six episodes. They got nice characters (poor chick), good actors and pretty thrilling plot. In the last episodes everybody was kind of suspicious. If ur a fan of crime I definitely recommend watching.

A pregnant cop is kidnapped and her baby is stolen. Due to her memory loss and subsequent instability her story seems more and more questionable. What should be a who done it becomes a question of "did it happen."
The "victim" soon shows herself to be an unsympathetic
loose cannon whose quest for justice seems more and more a paranoid delusioned quest.
She ignores her husband's grief in favor of her own and shows herself to be almost too self centered to be a grieving mother with P. T. S. D. Still her pursuit uncovers many crimes along the way but only as she commits crimes herself.
I was able to guess the villain 2/3 of the way through due to a brief scene which should have been edited (unless it was a teaser) and when all is revealed 2 cops who have gone rogue end up with their jobs intact.
Hey it could, and has, happened many times.

Sorry, people, but I don't share that praise.
Yes, it was quite entertaining and I really wanted to know what happened to Alex.
But six episodes were definitively too much for that story.
The main actress really did quite ok, but often totally overplayed, especially when getting insecure - why that whiny baby voice? She is a tough policewoman?
Then there are so many open threads which are not resolved: The corruption of Alex' partner - hey, nothing happens and everything is forgotten? As well as the shooting on that Romanian guy to get information?
What happened to Alex as a child what made her so insecure?
What about the fight with her ex-boyfriend: did he just do nothing about her aggression?
Why did they film it in Cologne but pretend it was in Duisburg though the city itself played absolutely no role?
All in all it was a typical German series: a little slow, trying to be very solemn but with some plot holes and a very far fetched plot in the end.

Gripping police drama

This excellently-acted drama series with an ever-unfolding plot is surprisingly good. The performances are what carry us along to the point where you may doubt the sanity of the lead female detective who cannot remember how her baby was taken from her womb. As she gets more and more desperate to find her child and solve the mystery, so too does the intensity increase. It would be bad form indeed to say too much about what develops but if you want an unusual and gripping drama, this is one series that should not be overlooked. As an aside, it is also a stylish exigesis about women and childbirth.

I'm sorry but a pregnant woman is kidnapped and returns without the baby, and the police just close the case and say "ah well the baby is probably dead, get over it" ??? First of all, they know someone induced her labour so obviously they wanted her to give birth for a reason and the reason is likely to keep the baby. Second, even if the baby IS dead do they not care about finding who kidnapped her and killed the baby?? I found it so mine baffling that the cops just gave up and called her crazy for trying to solve the crime, and her own husband told her to get over it?
The boss also didn't care about arresting the person responsible for the murder?
Apart from that the main character was horrible - not a nice person. Partly understandable but seems like she was always that way.
Don't get me wrong it was quite gripping and I wanted to see where it went, and the acting was decent. Just those few things drove me crazy!
