Great ideas from a great producer

Despite the averagely frustrating quality of acting, Franco Battiato succeeds in expressing fascinating points of view about existence and introducing interesting cinematographic elements. The main character is a scientist, professor, with a materialistic view of life; he expresses the self-reassurance of darwinism, scientific prediction, technique, those ideals that delude humankind of supreme control; but when it comes to find himself in a small forest, and getting lost, wandering through the woods, the real living perception of the human condition comes out, the feeling of being infinitely small, or alternatively and better said, the feeling that everything outside/inside is amazingly overwhelming, that life is something enormous. The apparition of the great Alejandro Jodorowsky also deserves a mention.
